Common Questions and Answers about Losing weight zumba videos

Avatar f tn If you dance Zumba for one hour a day and eat 500 calories a day less than you need to maintain your weight, you should lose 2 pounds weekly or 8 pounds a month. This is a fast, but healthy rate of weight loss. Losing weight any faster means you're losing muscle instead of fat. You may need 60 to 90 minutes of physical activity daily to lose weight, according to the American College of Sports Medicine.
Avatar m tn t losing weight I lost motivation. I really like Zumba so it keeps me motivated to go even when I am not losing weight. I have been a dancer since I was 3; which is part of the reason I tend to lean towards Zumba. I got shin splints running and my body hurt all the time.. I don't have that with Zumba. Honestly; I would do any dance cardio that would keep me motivated to keep going. Zumba just happens to be the easiest class to find.
Avatar f tn You can look up zumba and dance workout videos online and do it in the privacy of your own home if you are uncomfortable dancing in a class situation. This is what I do. Also try to stay away from fried foods, candy, and chips.
Avatar f tn There is a zumba class in my village so I thought it would be good for me to do zumba as exercise in the winter...do you think it's a good idea??
1961938 tn?1398718101 Just tried to Zumba this baby out hahaha, no worries ladies I did a mortified version :) just something to do while I wait.
Avatar f tn I too have the same problem and I am also trying to lose weight. First and foremost is changing your eating habits. Eat healthier, have your 3 meals and snack on healthy snacks like almonds, raw veggies, fruits, yogurt... every 2 to 3 hours to keep your metabolism up. Try keeping a food diary, I suggest using the app My Fitness Pal to track calories and exercise. Start off with easier exercise programs. Try an hour a day. Cardio will help get your heart rate up but don't over do it.
5147790 tn?1364304489 t that hypothyroidism, insulin resistance or PCOS, all of which can cause weight gain and/or make losing next to impossible. Good luck and keep posting.
Avatar n tn Losing weight quickly usually means putting it back on, because the only way to permanently lose weight is to permanently change your diet and lifestyle, and that takes time. Of course, if you're grossly overweight and completely sedentary, losing weight will be quicker doing anything positive than if you're not that overweight and already exercising, in which case it will take more time but also be easier to get to your ultimate goal.
9062363 tn?1402521075 You think zumba is fine? Im a belly dancer but some lady where I teach said its bad for the baby so maybe zumba?
Avatar f tn For those already mommies that lost all the weight they gained, what works outs did you do and diets? Im 31 weeks and have already gained 32lbs, which I dont mind.
637356 tn?1301924822 I ordered the Zumba work out set and am waiting for them to come in. I am very excited about them... My question is has anyone heard of this exercise or tried it before?
Avatar f tn I tried losing weight before I got pregnant. Worked out hard for two months and didnt lose any! Now im 6 weeks pregnant and I already feel huge. Nothing fits. And according to the scale I haven't gained. What could be the issue? Appetite is down as I get full really fast and stay full.
Avatar f tn try a dvd by zumba or another trainer you like, and mix it up. Don't do the same routine all the time. Confuse your muscles by having a different routine every day.
Avatar f tn Pilates type exercises are very good. I believe the Insanity videos use a lot of those moves. But you can find videos on line with Pilates type exercises. A mat and one of those Pilates balls is about all you need. Maybe some bands or light weights. But there are tons of videos to find a trainer and exercises you like. Always do squats and lunges. Working the big leg muscles is very important to weight loss. Form is important. Or put on music and dance like crazy for an hour.
Avatar f tn Both hypothyroidism and insulin resistance can make losing weight difficult, if not impossible. I know; I have them both and struggle daily with my weight.
Avatar f tn Its good you've set a goal and are looking to find out how to achieve it! However losing 15 pounds in a month is unrealistic and unhealthy. Did you know it takes about a year for your body to adjust to losing 10 pounds? It's important to remember weight loss is a marathon and not a sprint. In order to lose weight and keep it off, you shouldn't look at it as weight loss but a way to become healthier!
Avatar f tn That means you'd have to lose 40 lbs in just 3 months; I don't think you can do that safely. Safe weight loss is 1-2 pounds/week. The first thing to do is stop eating all junk food, such as chips, candies, sodas, pastries, white bread and regular pasta, etc. At age 16 your body isn't fully developed, so you have to be careful of losing weight too quickly.
Avatar f tn I agree that you should eat as few processed foods as possible. I don't agree that you need to invest in a guided fitness plan. Look up some yoga videos or pilates, etc... even "walk" videos, where you walk to a DVD... love doing those, when I can't get outside.
Avatar f tn t get back to the weight I was before the surgery!! I have recently started doing Zumba (toning and dance) twice a week, as well as trying to do something else during the gaps between. But there has been absolutely no change to my weight no matter what I do (it has stayed the same, to the decimal!). I still have a small bit of the swollen belly look (I never have had a flat stomach, but now my pants are a bit too tight for comfort). Has any one else had problems with this after a Laparotomy?
Avatar f tn I am arthritic and need to lose weight. How can I do this when I cannot move.
Avatar f tn Westin Childs) and he was offering a lot of advice on losing weight via Leptin, Insulin and Thyroid levels. The videos were very every understandable and well it thought me a lot I never knew. To me its one of those things I've been praying for but as they say sometimes things may be too good to be true. I was wondering if anyone here ever came across him and his videos and if they were helpful in losing weight etc.
Avatar n tn As the first comment correctly stated, losing weight fast doesn't last and leaves you weaker, which you don't want to be if you're getting ready for basic training. Why not wait to join the military until you're ready?
Avatar f tn I know walking is a good exercise, and this might be an obvious answer to the question but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of exercises I could do to maintain my weight. Im paranoid if i gain too much weight my baby will be too big and cause difficulties during labor which terrifies me..Im wanting to avoid a c section so bad!
