Avatar f tn I gained about the same with my daughter. I lost it all pretty quickly with breastfeeding yoga and pilates but now that I'm 30 I'm not sure how my body will respond this time around. I stay active now by taking very long walks at a moderate pace. I just hope to snap back.

Avatar f tn I agree that you should eat as few processed foods as possible. I don't agree that you need to invest in a guided fitness plan. Look up some yoga videos or pilates, etc... even "walk" videos, where you walk to a DVD... love doing those, when I can't get outside.
Avatar f tn Aerobic or cardiovascular exercises help burn off fat, but strengthening exercises tone and firm muscles. Do ab-specific exercises like the Plank and bicycle crunches; along with Yoga and Pilates to help tone and tighten your core. Perform your toning exercises every second day; or yoga every day. You have to create a calorie deficit in order to burn fat. Cutting 500 calories a day is good; but never drop more than a 1000 calories from your diet.

952296 tn?1249305476 I actually wanted to know what type of exercises that is can get rid of my belly fat because it is the hardest part of my body to shape. I have tried pilates, crunches, sit-ups, and now yoga but nothing seems to be effective enough for me to get rid of the belly fat. I have also kept a balanced diet since 2007. Besides that, I also would like to know how to get rid of the annoying back fat because I'm also having some problems shaping that part of my body also. Thank you.

3360193 tn?1365871889 t concerned with the length of time it will take to lose the weight, I would suggest starting with yoga or pilates, that way you can get reacquainted with your body, and then after a couple months try a zumba class! It's a great way to have fun and workout all at the same time. And as always, make sure you eat well balanced meals!

Avatar f tn You can try doing some yoga or pilates to firm up the area under your butt and that might also help attain a thigh gap; however, you should be aware that there are those of us who have never and will never have a thigh gap. Even when I weighed less than 100 lbs, I had a bit of chub rub.
Avatar f tn Muscles weigh more than fat so I would focus less on the scale at this point in you fitness and just focus on measurements as it may not require getting to that weight to be where you want to be! I would focus on body sculpting exercises such as Pilates, yoga, Barre or if you are looking for at home workouts, Team Beachbody programs such as T25, Chalean Extreme or Piyo. Good luck!
Avatar f tn I disagree that running is the only exercise that increases weight loss. I've lost weight with walking briskly for an hour daily. I've also lost weight in the past, with yoga and other forms of exercise. Anything that keeps you moving will burn calories and that's the goal.
Avatar f tn t get many responses here either. Maybe there is one for health or weight or something a little more applicable to your situation.
Avatar f tn Try swimming, walking, stationery bike or yoga. Those types of exercise are good for you while being pregnant. I'm 16 weeks and I was overweight before i got pregnant and have lost 15 pounds so far just by changing my diet. So it's possible. Keep your head up!

649848 tn?1534633700 Athena, in some ways it is. There are a lot of similar stretches and moves, and your own body weight is the weight you "lift." There are differences too, especially more use of simple equipment like sliding benches and elastic straps that you pull against. Some of the women in my classes also go to yoga classes at a local yoga studio, so it's obviously not the same or they would just do one or the other. I'm sorry you got Covid; it's good to hear that symptoms are mild.
Cat I'm looking for tips on diet and easy exercises that will help flatten the belly, lower my weight and blood pressure. I work at a job outdoors and am on my feet 5 to 8 hrs a day.
649848 tn?1534633700 Good morning. How is everyone doing this morning. It looks like it's going to be another hot day. I hope you're not still getting caught in the heat wave. We're getting rain some days, which does help cool it down but as soon as the sun comes out, it's like a sauna (or steam bath). It's been pretty quiet in my world this past week. I did get the stitches out of my hand/arm on Friday.
Avatar f tn Suggestion by spade22 is correct, I'd also incorporate some yoga/pilates in order to wind you down. Sometimes you need serious cardio to get that energy out. However, other times it's the total opposite - you need an exercise that is relaxful like Yoga, Pilates or simply stretching and breathing exercise. I, personally switch back and forth based on the tightness in my chest. If there's is tightness, I do the chill-out routine otherwise I'm cardio and heavy weight training.
Avatar f tn If you can discipline yourself to exercise, you will become more attractive to others and your body will work better and have less pain. Try yoga or Pilates and walking. Or turn up the music at home and dance like nobody's watching.
649848 tn?1534633700 I can see wanting to restart, my husband loves his yoga class and goes 5 or 6 days a week. I know you've talked about doing yoga at home, for me it has to be a class that I go to, am expected by other people to be there, and pay for, to force myself to stay disciplined with exercise. I could do Pilates at home watching the screen, but I know I wouldn't. (Even making the commitment and paying for it sometimes it hasn't worked (going to a gym and working with a trainer was a bust.
