Avatar n tn s defense against this fatigue is often to seek calories. Going on a severely calorie restricted diet will only leave you more fatigued that you currently are. Choose healthy foods that are full of healthy calories. Lean protein, low fat dairy and whole grain carbohydrates are all good choices. Add easy exercise. Fighting through the sluggishness and fatigue of hypothyroidism is difficult, but adding daily exercised can be a great aid in losing weight.
Avatar f tn The safest way to lose weight while breastfeeding or any other time is by eating a healthy diet and getting a moderate amount of exercise. Sounds like a lemonade, maple syrup and cayenne pepper diet might be some kind of fad, that isn't good for you any time, let alone while breastfeeding - I suspect that cayenne pepper might come through the breast milk and affect the baby...
Avatar f tn I've changed my diet, I'm following the paleo diet. But since I've started with GM, up til today.. I've lost quite a bit of weight. In 6 months I've lost 23 pounds. Has anyone else experienced quite a bit of weight loss? I'm hoping the weight loss is due to my new diet plan and not the cause of some other underlying health issue.
Avatar f tn Diet aids such as Releana are not the best way to lose weight. While you might lose a considerable amount of weight on it, which might be nice, the chances of gaining it all back, once you go off the med are extremely high. I can't think of anyone I've ever known, who would stick to such a "diet" for any length of time.
1519805 tn?1291058650 As you mature, it will be more and more difficult to lose weight. However, large amounts of weight gain--with no change in diet or activity--usually hints at a medical condition. So make sure you rule those out first. First of all, there's nothing easy or quick about losing weight. I'm so frustrated with commercials and billboards that promise fast results. A fat camp means you'll lose weight while at camp, but then what happens when you get home?
Avatar n tn m actually trying to gain weight. If I followed a strict ADA diet while body building 4x a week, and also trying to gain weight by muscle…would I still reduce my chance of Type 2. Losing weight is not an option for me. Also I only average about 6 hrs a sleep for the past 5 year and drink tons of sodas.

Avatar f tn Unless your doctor advises that you lose some I don't see the point in worrying about it? After all you're going to be gaining being pregnant obviously. You can still maintain a good diet though, and it never hurt to exercise while pregnant!
Avatar n tn s possible to eat a healthy diet and still lose weight. The goal is to make lifestyle changes, that you can stick with from now on, so you'll not only lose the weight but will be able to keep it off... Your diet will be based on foods available in your area...
Avatar f tn Yes Motivation is a very important part of weight loss, if you dont believe you can lose weight then you wont, because you wont stick at anything, Losing weight is not about going to the gym or spending money, I do go to a gym because for me i know that if i pay for it then i have to do it, i would maybe do it for a few weeks at home but then i would get bored doing it on my own so thats why i use the gym, I know people who prefer to do exercise at home or outside, That is just peoples prefera
Avatar f tn I do feel losing 15 kg in 3 months is unrealistic if you plan to do this healthily. I've lost 15 kg but it has taken me 12 months. However, it hasn't been an onerous task, whereas diets I've done in the past have been. This time, I changed my life style as well as my eating habits. I haven't cut out chocolate altogether, and I cut it down gradually (which is why it's taken 12 months). I found that the craving for it dissolved over time, and now I rarely eat it.
Avatar f tn It's not good to purposely lose weight while pregnant. It keeps the baby from getting the nutrients it needs. If you eat right and healthy and go for walks it'll keep you from gaining so much weight. In some cases women do lose some weight but no more than couple lbs. You might wanna find a new doc if he was concerned about you AND baby He would of put you on a special diet. But he shouldn't be telling you to purposely lose weight.
Avatar f tn WATER! You should drink about half your weight in ounces daily. Juice from one lemon is also allowed daily, franks hot sauce is allowed and pretty much any spices except sugar (this means no barbecue sauce). Just to give you an idea of what the diet looks like. So yes, it is vital to take a multivitamin daily and also an extra potassium vitamin daily and yes it will take some self control but with the hcg, it is very possible. So far, I have not experienced ANY hunger at all...
Avatar n tn You must first realize how much food you are eating. Once you have a good idea of how much you normally eat, begin to cut down on that amount, but only by a little bit. Gradually increase the amount of food that you are cutting down. Once you are accustomed to eating a smaller amount, try to begin eating a little healthier. While you are getting healthy, it is important to exercise as well. Always check the ingredients, calories, fat, carbohydrates, and vitamins of the food you buy.

Anyway, the 18 pounds plus some went away within a couple of weeks after I delivered. Avatar f tn Its a bit restrictive the first days but then you get used to and its really easy to get through the 14 days. After that you have a mantenence diet also really easy to follow. Its a great boost so if you are up to do it with me we can help and support eachother!
Avatar f tn If you're gaining weight, in spite of a healthy diet and adequate exercise, you should talk to your doctor about getting some simple blood tests to determine whether or not you have hypothyroidism (under active thyroid). The thyroid controls metabolism, body temperature, heart rate and other important body functions; if the thyroid isn't producing enough hormones, your body functions will slow down. The tests you need are Free T3, Free T4 and TSH.
676912 tn?1332812551 Just remember that Slimfast is not meant to be a life long thing and is not something that you will maintain indefinitely, so in order to KEEP the weight off, you will have to incorporate a sensible diet and moderate exercise along with it; otherwise, as soon as you go off the Slimfast, you will most likely gain the weight back again.
