Avatar f tn I too gained back the weight after I stopped the first chemo. Now that I'm having my 3rd recurrence I can't seem to keep any weight on me. I know that my Onc stated the steriods used during chemo will pack on the pounds. I don't use steriods anymore with chemo as I fill up too bad with fluids while on them.
Avatar n tn s what goes in calorie wise and what makes it burn off exercise wise that makes any difference while losing weight. Lower calorie intake, burning more calories with exercise equals weight loss. It's not fun, it's not easy. And with the menopause that comes on with arimedex or any AI doesn't make it easier. It's like we don't have a choice but to eat better and much less than before and to work out even harder to lose that one pound.
Avatar f tn Hey everyone, I'm on methadone too for 6 years now and have gone from 115 lbs of firm, smooth muscle to 160 lbs of cellulite-covered, jiggly fat. Yum. I'm on 70 mg, just like you, Suziblues. Not a really high dose, but enough to pack on the pounds apparently. I have found that it's REALLY hard to lose weight on this stuff... but I agree that I'd rather be overweight than strung out again.
Avatar n tn She has finished 4 months of radiation and 4 months of chemo. The tumor on her larynx has shrunk 60% and no change in the other tumor. They started more chemo this week for another 4 months. Is there a chance she could get worse during chemo and the worst happen? She lost from 110 lbs to 88 lbs.., she now weighs 90 lbs . The cancer has not spread any where else.
Avatar f tn to supplement your meals. Also, there are several drugs on the market are designed to put on weight for chemo patients. Lastly, marijuana is often suggested to chemo patients to help with appetite and weight gain. I dont know your stats -- how much damage, when you became UND, etc -- but there is also the option of terminating treatment early if the doctors feel you could potentially do more damage than good.
Avatar f tn I was wondering if any of you have successfully lost weight or stayed the same while pregnant. They only thing I plan on doing as far as losing weight is to eat healthy foods and not to overeat like I tend to do and to also excercise. I know if Im prego I shouldnt overdo myself on exercise but light exercise and walking wont hurt! :) I just would like to minimize the chance of getting gestational diabetes or preclampsia while prego! :) Thoughts, opinions, concerns, etc are all welcome!!!
Avatar n tn For many, it is a trick keeping up your weight and strength. You need to find foods that agree with you. For a while, all I could eat were sweet foods. Anything with salt was disgusting. One thing to remind yourselves is that the difficulty of the treatment can vary over time. I started out there were no side effects at all and I felt great. Then I hit a wall at about week 10. The next two months were hellish and I thought more than once about quitting.
Avatar f tn she lost a dramatic amount of weight while she was on it. so it is defiantly true that you can lose weight while on the depo.
Avatar f tn I am due to have my last (6th) treatment with Carboplatin next Wednesday. I had a radical hysterectomy on 27th Feb 09 which removed large contained tumours on each of my ovaries, indicated by removal of an enlarged groin lymph node in Dec 08 (stage 3C) . All the tests indicate the tumours were successfully removed and I have been pretty well throughout. Scans clear, CA125 down to 5 from 600+ at the op. I am still active, but my haemoglobin count is down to 9.8.

354706 tn?1279470795 I left the hospital 7 days post-op weighing 137, which is a good weight for me. I continued to lose weight during chemo. I had to eat like a horse to keep my weight from dropping off. Even after chemo I had to eat way more than normal to keep from losing. Then, guess what?? All of a sudden that changed. I put my pants on and they were too tight! It seemed like all at once I went from skinny to needing to call Weight Watchers!!

540822 tn?1313086322 I hope your surgery goes ok. I had mine last July and did chemo also. Taxol/Carboplatin is the standard first treatment with most ovca paitents. Usually 6 to 8 rounds. The side effects may be different with each person. I lost my hair after the second treatment. I would be fine the day after treatment but then on the third day I would have very bad leg cramps and pretty much sleep around the clock for three days. I couldn't eat much.
1084115 tn?1385228589 I wish I could relate. I was hoping I would lose weight on treatment but I gained while taking INC. I did drop what weight I gained but now I am back where I started. If you want to gain weight add about 400 to 500 calories to what you already eat each day.... Add a high calorie protein shake or you could do like me and add a couple of scopes of Ben and Jerry's at night . Good luck with the rest of your treatment.
Avatar f tn Diet aids such as Releana are not the best way to lose weight. While you might lose a considerable amount of weight on it, which might be nice, the chances of gaining it all back, once you go off the med are extremely high. I can't think of anyone I've ever known, who would stick to such a "diet" for any length of time.
Avatar f tn Yes it's normal especially if ur on ur last month.. baby is swollowing the amniotic fluid. That's where the lost in weight comes from. We don't produce as much to replace it after a while cuz baby is getting ready for delivery.
Avatar f tn Idk your not supposed to lose weight in pregnancy. I mean sOme ppl get really sick and help it but you really shouldn't lose just to lose. You should talk to your doctor about it.
