Avatar n tn I just had an MRI and I have an L4L5 bulging disc and an L5S1 annular tear. I am devastated. I am athletic 39 and my husband and I are going to sail around the world. What are my non surgical treatment options I am doing PT and It seems to be helping but I am only about 45% better after 8 weeks. I am losing my mind. I want to run and jump and play again. Am I doomed? Could running have caused this?
199373 tn?1270487632 I gave birth 2 months ago, and I'm losing weight at a semi-slow pace (I'm breastfeeding so I cannot overdo it). I ordered an elliptical, and plan to workout on it for atleast 30 mins a day. I seem to be losing well in all places but my face and arms. Any advice on how to trim these two areas? Or should I just be patient?
Avatar f tn I am a 25 year old female with problems losing weight. I am 5'8 and weight about 201 lbs. I have been on a 1000 calorie diet for 2 months and try not eat anything after 4 P.M. I do the insanity workout in the morning and an hour on the elliptical at night (which the machine tells me I burn 650 Calories) with a little weight training. I have not lost any weight, in fact I have gained if I eat anything over 1000 calories. I went to the Dr.
7989976 tn?1403493624 This is my 1st pregnancy in nj and im due in oct. With my 1st 2 I walked alottt and lost the weight quick. This time I'll try breastfeeding and I just got an elliptical, so that should help. Hopefully it doesn't snow non stop again!
Avatar n tn I started using an elliptical machine three weeks ago. I have used it everday for three weeks now for 65 min per day. I am 46 years old and am about 50 pounds over weight. I am now feeling lumps all over the outside of my upper arms. I am not using the elliptical with the arm accessories. Is this just the fat starting to break up? Does this mean I am actually making progress? Thanks!
172023 tn?1334672284 Since losing almost 45 pounds, I've joined a gym and am now trying to increase my cardiovascular fitness. I had a scare last year with a tentative finding of pulmonary hypertension, which has yet not been proved nor ruled out. However, since losing all the weight, I'm no longer having shortness of breath when I exercise. Anyway, I can't seem to increase my endurance on the elliptical. 20 min is the most I can do, and I'm dying after that.
Avatar f tn Hello! I am 36yrs old and weigh 265lbs. My doctor put me on a low carb/no sugar diet. Last month, I faithfully exercised doing The Firm DVD's 5 days a week and walking at least 30 min. 5-6 days a week. I also stuck to the eating plan all month, with the exception of 2 days. The scale only moved (up and down) within a 3lb range. I am very discouraged. I've lost weight before using Weight Watchers. I haven't exercised like this in years....
5891248 tn?1406410864 I don't think u should try to lose weight... If ur gaining weight too quickly try changing ur eating habits... When ur pregnant u should never try to lose weight..
Avatar m tn Elliptical machine is an equipment for aerobic exercise which replicated by running and walking, that led an elliptical motion of the feet. This not only good for normal people, it's also ideal for patients who have joint issues or problems with ligaments or tendons. Elliptical Trainer machine provides an excellent impact-free cardiovascular workout because it has continuous movement, so it gives user a low impact when compared with the normal running or walking.
Avatar n tn I am 54 years old and having a difficult time losing weight. During the past 8-9 months, I have not been able to continue my typical exercise regimen due to knee pain and surgery. As a result, I have gained the nine pounds I lost and added 7 more.Approximately two weeks ago, I started to exercise again, managing to workout four days each week, although no change in weight. Any suggestions?
Avatar n tn i too have had an impossible time losing weight on or following the use of anti'd's--i just posted a ques. yesterday asking the same thing you are. i'm on lamictal (75mgs) and i'm working out obessively, eating right, under 1300 cals a day, journaling everything etc..and even though clothes are fitting a little better, the scale isnt changing, and its been 2 months now, and i need some kind of motivation to keep going. thats why i was thinking of trying the injections etc..
Avatar m tn m not sure if not having enough protein is contributing to me not losing weight. I hear people talk about how they lose a pound a week and the such, but I've run 5 miles a day for 5 days straight for 1 month and have only lost 1-2 lbs. What am I doing wrong?!
Avatar f tn I have been doing 7 miles a day on the stair stepper, but I am having trouble losing the weight. I plan on going back to bikram yoga in another 2 months when the twins are on solids and I can leave them for 2 hours at a time. My goal is to be back in a size 4 by September. What are you ladies doing to drop the weight? How is it going?
Avatar f tn I'm a 19 year old girl and I'm 5ft. I do cardio 4 times a week (elliptical machine) and I do toning workouts with weights for 5-6 days a week for between 15-30mins. I try to eat healthy, but I do have my off times when I go above my 1200 calories intake. However, I'm not losing any weight. I'm 106 pounds and my goal is to be 99 pounds. I know its not a lot but its really important for me to get my figure back. Someone please help?
Avatar m tn I had pain in my lower calf muscles and so I am sticking with the elliptical and burning 600 cals in elliptical. I aim at burning 450 cals each day on cardio and so hit 600 which i think the machine over-estimates. I believe 600 may equal to 450 actual. I was 175 lbs and have got to 162. But I am not going beyonf that. I am staying at 162 for over 2 months now. I look a bit toned, but still have a small-medium belly. I have lost my double chin significantly. Well i am 5"7.
7880530 tn?1395017213 I've been using an elliptical for about two weeks now for 30 min/day and sometimes adding in some crunches / curls - is there a weight kiss workout ratio that should be met on a daily basis (cardio, resistance etc)? Also, is it better NOT to do something one day to give your body "rest" or is it just a matter of switching up intensity?
Avatar n tn I have been working on losing weight for several weeks. I have been sticking to a 1400 calories/day diet, and exercising (elliptical trainer) at least 20 minutes per day, six days a week. I am not losing weight. I have noticed that my morning basal temperatures (I use natural family planning) are lower than they ever have been. They are now regularly under 97 degrees. In addition, I am having a long anovulatory cycle with irregular bleeding.
1666434 tn?1325262350 I have lost weight as well, however I was a big girl before my pregnancy. I have been walking whenever I feel like it.
Avatar m tn I have started a complete lifestyle changing initiative. I am currently 1 1/2 months into my new diet and exercise regiment. I weigh about 287lbs (my goal is approximately 215lbs mostly muscle) at the moment after losing about 25lbs last month. I do cardio 6 days a week for 45 mins each time. I alternate my cardio workouts between the elliptical, the treadmill, and I use the bike and stairmaster seldomly. I am noticing great weight loss with this routine.
Avatar n tn Since the beginning of 2007, i have lost an amount of weight from being a 58 kilo to 56 kilos. This i had done by investing a lot of time in the gym and working out and eating a low carbohydrate but a healthy diet. However, i am concerned because i stopped working out or dieting since March 2007 and my weight seemed to remain the same to 56 kilos.
Avatar m tn Which one is good to maintain fitness and weight? Treadmill or elliptical?
Avatar f tn Is it okay to lose weight and workout while pregnant? The only thing I like is to workout on the elliptical. Is safe?
Avatar m tn I am a 51 year old male, 6'5" 335. I recently made a commitment to losing a goal weight of 75 pounds. I recently had surgery(October) for a torn meniscus on my left knee. A weird injury that I never knew when it happened? Last week I was on the elliptical machine at the gym running my daily 2 miles. However, that night I came home and my knee was very sore. I iced it down and took some motrin.
