At your age, you probably won't have that problem, but as we age, we get loose skin whether we're losing weight or not. Better to lose it now than later. I would imagine that if you incorporate resistance training in your exercise regimen you can work on that, but know that once you do resistance training and gain muscle, you have to maintain it or it will turn into loose skin. Look.

Avatar f tn Losing 40 pounds in 2 months is pretty much not going to happen, even if you starve. You need to stop and think about what you're doing. Losing weight by any means, other than healthy lifestyle changes will only temporary and will actually put more stress on your heart than it's under now. If you want healthy weight loss tips, we'll be glad to walk down that road with you.

It doesn't seem possible to gain weight with what you're eating, unless you have a thyroid condition or some other disorder such as Type II diabetes, which can complicate matters. As for exercise, get in what you can. Take the stairs, park far away and walk to the store, school, etc. Or call up a friend and take a stroll around the neighborhood. You don't have to kill yourself to get a decent amount of exercise. If you can exercise, by all means, do.

If not, your body may think not start to think that you are trying to shed the fat and, instead, keep storing the fat (going into survival mode). How long have you been on the diet and exercising? I also do change my workout routine so that I won't get bored...before all this, I was losing weight fine, but since about december, I've notice it has been hard to lose weight. I know it isn't good to do, but i was wondering if I fasted for a day or two, maybe that may work kick starting my metabolism again.
Avatar m tn When I was going to college, I took a workout class that was actually ROTCs pt class. The group encouragement was amazing!! Try looking into group classes offered by your gym or get a friend with similar goals. The buddy system is such a motivatior. Good luck!
Avatar m tn Weight loss for tall people is the same as it is for short people. I, typically, recommend that you check with your doctor to make sure you don't have any medical issues that can affect metabolism and/or cause weight gain. 2 of those are hypothyroidism and/or Type 2 Diabetes. If you have medical issues, they need to be dealt with; if you don't, losing weight is pretty straight forward (though not always easy).

Avatar f tn Its good you've set a goal and are looking to find out how to achieve it! However losing 15 pounds in a month is unrealistic and unhealthy. Did you know it takes about a year for your body to adjust to losing 10 pounds? It's important to remember weight loss is a marathon and not a sprint. In order to lose weight and keep it off, you shouldn't look at it as weight loss but a way to become healthier!

Avatar f tn ve been steadily losing weight over the past few days even though I eat at least 3 meals a day (3 normal portioned meals, or 5 small meals). When I first weighed myself when I found out I was pregnant, I was about 145. Then when I went to the doctor 2 weeks ago I was 140, now I'm 137. Anyone else going through weird things like this? Oh and keep in mind I'm constipated, so I feel like I should weigh more?
Dinosaur Just eliminating soda from your diet will go a long way toward losing weight. You don't have to quit all at once... just start slow and replace one soda/day with a glass of water. Once you're comfortable with that, replace another soda each day with water. Continue until water is your drink of choice. I'm not real fond of plain water, so I keep fresh lemons in the fridge and I drop a lemon wedge/slice into my glass.

Avatar f tn It seems I can go days without eating, without feeling hungry, and without losing weight. It scares me that I may not be getting the proper nutrition, I need. My family also monitors what I eat and is worried, because I eat so little for my size. It is very frustrating, because I struggle so much with my weight. No one outside my family really understands. I plan to make an appointment with an endocrinologist this week.
