Avatar n tn When focusing on weight loss instead of measuring on a scale try measuring yourself with a tape measure and see the inches come off. It is common the inches go first before the weight drops off. Next I would look at your diet, how many meals a day? Portion size? % of fat, carbs, protein consuming in a day approx? Do you et late at night? Are you eating to many calories for your body? How much sodium are you taking in as that can cause you to retain water?
Avatar n tn Sometimes it's just as good, if not better, to lose inches than to lose weight...Since you're losing inches, you're not losing muscle, which is a good thing. If you're exercising quite a bit, it's customary to build muscle, which will keep your weight more stable, but since muscle is more densely packed, a pound of muscle doesn't take up as much space as a pound of fat.

Avatar n tn I am not sure what your target weight is, but it sounds to me that when losing the initial amount you developed a healthier relationship to food and stopped using it to handle stress, so now you are a normal eater, eating when hungry, and your own natural body controls are taking over....if you are at , or getting to, the weight you want, then everything seems okay..
Avatar f tn I also am working out 30-50 minutes about 5 times a week. i am not loosing weight at all. although i am loosing inches. i have actually lost about 9 inches around my body but only 5 lbs. I know that muscle replaces fat, but when i first started working out i gain 20 lbs of "muscle", i have also found that when i drink a good recommended amount of water, i will gain about 5 lbs and not loose it until i stop drinking water all together.

4202320 tn?1366272200 Just to clarify - muscle isn't really "heavier" than fat...A pound is a pound, no matter what it's made of.... muscle is denser so a pound of muscle takes up less room than a pound of fat. Compare muscle with a rock and fat, with feathers........ You can have a relatively small rock that weighs a pound because its molecules are packed so densely, but think how big that pound of feathers is going to be because of all the "fluff".
Monkey Muscle is packed more densely than fat, so a pound of muscle takes up less space than a pound of fat, therefore, you may not be losing pounds, but could be losing inches. Have you done any measurements to check inches lost? You should keep a food diary and record everything you eat. Often we eat a lot more than we think we do. I hadn't been keeping a food diary, but I do now and it can be a real eye-opener. It shows us where we're getting off track.
Avatar f tn If you are losing inches throughout, you are not really gaining...I know that sounds odd, but I am thinking that you are losing inches but gaining muscle. That old saying Muscle weighs more than fat, that's true. Also, if it's not muscle gain, it may just be water retention. That's the only explanations I have for now. I hope this helped at least a little.

Avatar m tn Are the calories you're counting within a reasonable limit? Maybe your current target is a bit high. Of those calories, how much are saturated fats? Maybe you're eating very few calories, but not necessarily of the best type. What type of exercise 30 minutes a day? Maybe you can stretch that to 45' - or if it's only cardio, throw in some weight training before that. Also: have you given it enough time?

Please remember the Pounds & Inches Manuscript...the body is losing weight and because you are drinking so much water, the body is teleasing all the fats in your body. HCG wants to make sure that your skin does not droop so it works not only on the scale but it also works on the inches. That means that it is working on moving the fats in inches. Sometimes that is not done on the scale. Also the body has weight set points.

Avatar f tn I eat about 1500-1700 and according to my HRI burn anywhere from 2,500-1,500(depending how many practices we have in a day). Even if I am off by even 500 cal I should be losing weight quicker then I am. Help?!

Avatar f tn I around 1200 cals a day I eat a good amount of protein and I go to the Gym 7 days a week, I started interval training about 2 weeks ago because I thought I reached a weight plateau but i am still not losing any more weight I am doing strength training 2-3 days a week. Avatar f tn I agree that you could be losing inches, but if you aren't losing inches, possibly, you aren't cutting calories enough. Have you calculated your daily calorie needs and are you staying within the allotment?

If you are not losing weight, then consult a doctor to rule out anemia, diabetes, hypothyroidism and polycystic ovaries. Avatar m tn Losing weight, if you are overweight, might make some of the skin at the base of the penis have less fat under it, but it won't make your penis itself bigger unless it somehow reveals more of it. But DON'T WORRY, five inches is plenty. I think when I went in for my first pelvic exam at 16, the doctor commented that my vagina was five or six inches deep. Nobody wants to be hit in the cervix when having sex by a penis that is longer than her vagina.
