Avatar f tn Jumping rope is one of the easiest and most-effective ways to burn fat and lose weight around your waist and all over, as it can burn as many as 750 calories per hour. Be sure to get a rope that is long enough. Stand with your feet on the middle part of the rope and pull up both ends evenly. They should reach the middle of your chest. Then be sure to have a pair of cross-training or aerobics sneakers that has a lot of cushion and support to handle the jumping and landing.
Avatar f tn It would be good for weight loss if you team up the jump rope cardio with some toning weight lifting exercises, for all your muscles. Toning is awesome, it will tighten your muscles to make you appear thinner, and in lots of light repetitions it is just like cardio. For toning you shouldn't lift more than 10 pounds, and even then 10 pounds is kind of heavy.
1159737 tn?1286517257 I would swim EXCEPT - they dont allow you in a pool with a shirt on and because of gaining weight with two pregnancies and gaining and losing weight I have that gross extra skin on my stomach that hangs down. EWWWW lol I know. Sounds disgusting to say it LOL.
Avatar f tn I'm 33 weeks and it feels like he is trying to do a jump rope routine in my womb but it always results in him kicking my ribs anyway to avoid getting my ribs battered?
Avatar f tn Jumping rope is very slimming. Be sure to wear a supportive bra. Learn to lift small free weights if you want to get a less doughy shape, more athletic. Working the legs with squats will help you burn a lot of calories, but many women don't like to build the big muscles, which is too bad.
Avatar f tn The most slimming exercise is jumping rope because it uses the muscles in your feet and ankles and calves and wrists and your heart and breathing muscles. So it tends to burn fat off without making the big muscles of the legs and bum bigger.
Avatar m tn I do 15 Mins of treadmill (avg 10 speed), 10mins of cycling followed by 5 mins of skipping (rope jumping) everyday. After that I do 1hr of weight training (single body pary) 5 days a week. Would this schedule help me lose weight. P.S I do follow a diet, but mostly I tend to binge eat once or twice a week max.
15795633 tn?1443186038 You will do both weight training exercises such as pushups, situps and squats, and aerobic exercises such as jumping jacks, jumping rope and burpees. Each exercise is done for a set amount of time, I suggest 30 seconds, or a set amount of repetitions. After you have performed the full circuit, take a short break to recover and drink water, then do the circuit again. Circuit training is an excellent way for women to strengthen their muscles and burn fat.
Avatar m tn you know sometimes I wonder if that wasn't part of my problem...I was so focused on losing more weight; I think I pushed myself beyond what I should have sometimes. There were times my heart would be jumping out of my chest, dizziness and I would slow down until it stopped then just walked or run faster after ...then crazily walking/running 4-6 times a week wasn't enough - I started walking with my family at night also 3-5 times...that's when I first felt my heart actually stop...

You DO NOT need to be engaging in any strict exercise/nutrition program at your age unless you are 30lbs or more overweight.
6896476 tn?1386858324 You will not get longer arms or legs, of course, but an exercise that slims without adding bulk is jumping rope.

Avatar f tn after going baby shopping with my daughter today for hours of walking we got home and she asked me to show her how to jump rope well of course I picked up the rope and started jumping for a good 2 minutes. now all night my stomach has been tightening having more braxton hicks and back pains baby is still moving tons I'm just worried cause even though I'm huge I'm only 35 weeks. I still did the silliest thing ever and wondering if it hurt him.
Avatar n tn Indoor exercises can also be done fairly easily. Jumping rope is a very easy exercise to do indoors. If you can jump rope continuously for 10 or 15 minutes you are already doing excellent; or you can do a session of say 1 minute jump rope, then recover for 2 minutes (doing say 20 squats), then 1 more minute jump rope, then recover for 2 minutes (doing say 20 push ups).
1149046 tn?1264361586 For your height, you are just about perfect weight. Losing 20 pounds would put almost in the "underweight" category. I would not advise doing that. Here's part of a height/weight chart that applies to YOU.
190673 tn?1259203266 If that is not the cause, what makes a difference I find, compared to hundreds of sit-ups, is rope jumping. Not a "manly" thing of course unless you are a boxer but for some reason it seems to have a good effect on the midriff.
Avatar f tn I know you can continue to work out but I would ask the Dr which workouts are ok just to be safe. Maybe it's because I'm almost 36wks but I couldn't picture myself jumping rope lol. But I'm pretty sure keeping up with a workout routine will help you have an easier delivery.
Avatar f tn it is possible jumping rope may be ok for you.....but we are all different so some of us can not jump rope.....so if you try jumping rope and have no effects then it is ok for you.....if your symptoms increase or are triggered then it is not the right activity for you. Have you had a recent MRI...and when did the eye issues start?
Avatar f tn Also I see to it. That i Run and do jump rope 3 times a week for at least an hour. Do u think I can lose weight. My target weight is 46 kg. Thanks.
1285110 tn?1420147378 Jumping rope might help. Jump for 3-5 mins 3-5 times a day. Also rest between each til your heart rate is at a resting rate. Aim for 5 mins each but you can start with 3 mins or as long as possable. I also heard that milk helps keep your fat more compressed, haha so it looks like you lost weight when really it's all just compressed. Lolz that's what happened to me.
Avatar f tn Hmmm. Well, I'm 37 - that's probably a factor! I'm phycially fit - can easily hike several miles effortlessly in high altitudes, play tennis and basically just run around with my kids w/out breaking a sweat. I've never been a real cardio buff but have never had my body fail so dismally before on what I thought was such a simple bit of exercise (the jump rope).
Avatar f tn It is important to do some weightlifting with light weights. Jumping rope is very slimming. Exercises that work the thigh muscles are helpful, the most important being squats. Decrease starchy foods and fried foods and aim for a mild decrease in overall callories, but eat a high volume of vegetables cooked in healthy ways (not fried) to keep yourself full. Also eat lean protein and when hungry, consider having a few nuts and a piece of fruit.
