978106 tn?1285108401 As for exercise, get in what you can. Take the stairs, park far away and walk to the store, school, etc. Or call up a friend and take a stroll around the neighborhood. You don't have to kill yourself to get a decent amount of exercise. If you can exercise, by all means, do. But don't stress yourself out over it. Remember that stress itself can cause weight gain.

Avatar f tn What to expect when you're expecting says losing weight in the 1st trimester is normal bc of morning sickness. You will just have to make up for it when you aren't sick anymore. If you can't keep anything down, you may need to see your dr incase you become dehydrated.
Avatar n tn s keeping you from losing weight. By eating regular meals, you can better incorporate a mix of vegetables, protein, whole grains and healthy fats into your diet. Snacking, typically, ends up being fruit, candy bars, crackers, sandwiches, chips and all the things that aren't so good for you and tend to make you, either, gain or hold onto weight.
Avatar f tn I lost 10 using the gym and pool before my struggle with tachycardia got worse. I agree that you need motivation but I also think you need to enjoy exercise. I went with a friend and had lots of fun. Not sure if it's a coincidance or not but I lost the 10kg before my sister join us at the gym. I have a lot of anxiety around my sister as she's a controling person and given any chance she will try to control me any way. I stopped loosing weight once she joined us.
Avatar f tn Hello! I was just a month ago or so diagnosed with type 1 Chiari malformation, but the fact is that I'm 17 years old and still in high school with PE classes which are mandatory. I went to a neurologist but she wasn't one I would trust because all she basically said to me was which was written on my MRI results. I have an appointment with another neurologist but it's on 19th Feb. What I'm wondering is if there are things which I shouldn't be doing in PE classes?

Avatar n tn Fighting through the sluggishness and fatigue of hypothyroidism is difficult, but adding daily exercised can be a great aid in losing weight. If you aren't currently exercising, start with an easy walk. Get plenty of rest. The National Sleep Foundation reports that people who sleep less than 6 hours each night have a higher body mass index than people who sleep 8 or more hours.
Avatar f tn Diet aids such as Releana are not the best way to lose weight. While you might lose a considerable amount of weight on it, which might be nice, the chances of gaining it all back, once you go off the med are extremely high. I can't think of anyone I've ever known, who would stick to such a "diet" for any length of time.
Avatar f tn So my dr told me that I am losing weight today at my appointment. I know its natural in the first trimester but my dr is concerned and says I need to start gaining. Problem is I am never hungry. I eat a small meal at lunch time and feel completely stuffed the rest of the day/night. Anyone have any suggestions?? I'm already high risk, I don't want anything else to happen too!
Avatar f tn If your A1C is high you are likely pre-diabetic. That combined with PCOS will make it tough getting pregnant. Ask your doctor about taking metformin. This will help regulate your insulin levels which will help your diabetes and will work with your ovaries to hopefully get them to ovulate. Metformin has also been known to help women lose weight combined with diet and exercise. Watch your portion size. When you eat a carb make sure you've got a protein. Cut out sugars.
Avatar m tn I am now taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen and have actually begun to FINALLY start losing weight. My weight loss is not much yet, but I was wondering if taking these birth control pills is actually the reason for my weight loss? I know birth control pills are supposed to help with hormonal imbalances, so would taking them also enable me to finally start losing weight, despite the fact that so many women say birth control pills cause them to GAIN weight?
Avatar f tn Its good you've set a goal and are looking to find out how to achieve it! However losing 15 pounds in a month is unrealistic and unhealthy. Did you know it takes about a year for your body to adjust to losing 10 pounds? It's important to remember weight loss is a marathon and not a sprint. In order to lose weight and keep it off, you shouldn't look at it as weight loss but a way to become healthier!
Avatar f tn First you need to rid yourself of fatty foods, fried, sugary foods that are very high in calories. such as soda, french frieds etc. Your going to want to add more fruit and vegetables to your diet. But most important exercise walking every day and taking baby steps walking for 5 minutes each day the first week and then buidling up. anything that you can do that will increase your heart rate and doing it every day over time you will start to loss the weight.
Avatar m tn Hey i'm a 22 yr old college student and i've recently made some big life changes in the past 3 weeks. I've gone cold turkey on the college lifestyle you could say. I've switch from pizza, cheese steaks, fried foods and NO exercise on a daily basis to eating healthy and exercising 5-6 days a week. I've eliminated all calories from my drink on a daily basis basically drinking only water or some flavored waters when it gets boring.
Avatar f tn Obesity aggravates the COPD further. Blood oxygen levels are not a botheration at this time but you should concentrate on losing some weight. Weight reduction, if you are overweight or obese, is the optimal health strategy for patients who suffer from COPD. This can be done through a combination of diet, an increase in physical activity and sometimes medication. Weight reduction can help reduce dyspnea, increase exercise tolerance and improve your quality of life.

649848 tn?1534633700 re exposed to when we go out in public in our daily lives, and our son is in high school -- what if we get symptomless Covid? In that group, a lot of people could get sick. It's a difficult conversation to have even so because until it happens to you, it seems so hypothetical.
Avatar f tn ve calculated your needs, you will need to subtract calories in order to lose weight. A pound is 3500 calories, so if you want to lose a pound a week, you would need to eliminate that many calories/week. That would average out to 500 calories/day (500 calories/day X 7 days/week = 3500). You can do this a couple of ways.
Avatar f tn Hi hubby on wk20 on Tues out of 24wk when he finished with the teleprevir his appetite came back but he is still losing weight so far he as lost over 2 stone and we cant understand why when he eating so well.
Avatar n tn As the first comment correctly stated, losing weight fast doesn't last and leaves you weaker, which you don't want to be if you're getting ready for basic training. Why not wait to join the military until you're ready?
Avatar f tn Sometime back my doctor got concerned that I might be a borderline case of PCOS ( I had irregular periods and mild hirsutism aling with difficulty in losing weight) and I got the tests done but they were all clear. I was under lots of stress, still am and Ive been taking antidepressants like Escitalipram and topiramate for the last five years. I've stopped them now. I got my thyroid profile done and all readings were within range.
649848 tn?1534633700 I'd been doing pretty satisfactorily with tiny losses every week (having a scale that measures in tenths of a pound may give a rather false sense of rocketing down the scale instead of just mostly sitting, but I'm cheered up by the smallest losses). But today I'm up a pound from last week. It could be the meal we had last night -- some pretty big pieces of salmon, and they were rather salty -- but I've got to take it seriously.

Avatar m tn I take care of an 18 yr. old high school student. He is severely disabled and is an MR. Have noticed him losing weight lately, has a large appetite. His father agreed to a thyroid TSH test. The no. was 3700. I think that is high. He only weighs 83 lbs. Has lost about 9 or 10 lbs. in the last couple months. Unfortunately his father only goes to a particular PA. Nothing against him but he seems to think the no. is ok. He hasn't even recommended a T4 or T3. I am very worried about the boy.
Avatar f tn t mind because I was still seeing a change even though it was smaller. Then in late January I joined track at my school. It started out as conditioning after school, doing build ups, distance and muscle building excersises for the season beginning in March. Three weeks into February, I got injured. I did some muscle damage to my calf, making it painful to run. Fast forward to now.
