Avatar f tn Sometimes when I run uphill, steep altitude gains, in the beginning my arms lose blood. It's not pain, it's not numbness, but a weird ache like all the blood is rushing out of them. I'm sure it has to do with all the blood going to my quads and glutes so they can push me up the hill. But I don't know any of my friends that have this sensation. Just wondering if it's unusual.
Avatar f tn When starting out, it's very important to learn proper form for squats. Begin squatting using only your body weight, allowing your muscles and joints to become accustomed to the movement. This also allows you to work only on your form until you have it perfect. Standard squats should be performed with your feet shoulder-width apart, your head up and shoulders back. When lowering down into the squat, push your glutes back and keep your weight nearly all in your heels.
Avatar m tn I just noticed the OP mentuons muscle aches and pains. Do you mean in your breast or in your body? I have noticed I've had quite a few (especially in my glutes!) but assumed it was from losing weight (hard to eat when you think you are dying of cancer). Is GM linked with muscle pains too, or is it localized to the breast? I am going to try acupuncture before year end, I hope.
Avatar n tn Calorie indicators are a generalization, a starting point, but not what you in particular need. If you're not losing weight, you're not eating too little. Pretty simple. But the quality of your food might not be just right, or the time of eating, which can account for some of the pain. For example, after running, if you don't cool down and then stretch, lactic acid will build up and cause pain.
Avatar m tn Doing heavy lifting (espeically deadlifting) I doubt that I have a weakness in my glutes, but do you think that I could have a similar effect from having overstregthened glutes/hamstrings in relevance to my quads? I think we have a few foam rollers up here where I work so I will probably try to stretch it out a little awhile I am here. Thanks for the quick response.
Avatar n tn GLUTE BRIDGE WITH MEDICINE BALL BETWEEN KNEES While lying on your back with with knees bent and feet flat, place a medicine ball between your knees and raise your hips in the area to full extension. Squeeze your glutes and hold hips in air for five seconds at a time. Squeeze the ball as hard as possible with your knees as this will help emphasize more inner thighs. LATERAL LUNGE Begin with stepping to the right beyond shoulder width while keeping your toes forward and your feet flat.
14110160 tn?1432940751 Hi! I am a 16 year old female who is at a normal healthy weight. However, for a while ive been trying to figure out ways to slim down my thighs. For a while, I did squats and lunges and realized I was only building more muscle on my thighs, and that's not what I want. I want to slim them up, then in the future decide on whether I want to tone them with a bit of muscle.
Avatar f tn Im 30 weeks & in the past week or so my hips hurt a lot . They are super sore when I lay or my sides or walk for some time . Is anyone else having this problem ?
Avatar m tn Now you are really making me curious bro'... about how awesome you look. I definitely need some muscle. The weight loss is okay, you know woman usually don't mind getting rid of some fat, but losing muscle is no good. Unless one wants to end up looking like a middle aged version of size 0 models....
Avatar f tn Back ground, I was a pretty healthy male up until I reached 28-30. I didn't exercise but my job in construction kept me fit. I went into management and gained a lot of weight. I'm 6ft 1 and went from 200-289 over the years. I'm now 38. After visiting the doctor and being hypertension stage two I started dieting and joined planet fitness and in 5 months I was able to get from 289 to 241.
Avatar f tn I'm not very good at metrics so I converted 56 kg and come up with between 120-129 lb. That's not ideal but I've seen a lot more weight stacked onto a 5' body. You don't mention your body make up; eg: you say you have really big thighs. Are the muscular, a bit flabby, or littered with cellulite? You also didn't mention your age. Losing weight and/or contouring your body is really not that difficult but it does take time.
Avatar n tn As for the butt, a weight training workout that targets your glutes three days per week. Have a day of rest in between each one so that your glute muscles get to fully heal. Include squats, split squats and step-ups into your weight-training workout, as each are effective at targeting your major butt muscle. Perform three to five sets of eight to 20 reps of each glute exercise you include in your workout.
Avatar n tn I am 9 weeks pregnant and this is my first pregnancy and instead of gaining weight I am losing weight. I haven't had any nausea or vomiting in the past 2 days but I am still losing weight. I am scared that this could affect my baby. Is there something wrong or is this normal ?

Avatar f tn Hello there, It would be really dangerous to you to lose that much weight, ie 15 lbs in 2 weeks. A good amount of weight is about 2 lbs per week. The middle of August is about 4 weeks away. Even in 4 weeks, unless you go on what I would call a drastic diet or a starvation diet which would probably put your body in shock, you can't lose 15 lbs in a healthy way. Some people might think that if you drastically reduce your calorie intake, the weight will just fall off you. This is not true.
Avatar f tn I cannot exercise a whole lot do to a medical condition where I suffer from daily headaches and pressure in my head. Losing weight will actually help this condition. Besides my overall health, this is why it is so important that I lose weight. I have lost weight in the past, but always seem to gain it back. I think that I was not eating enough calories. i was staying at about 1000 a day. I lost 70 pounds, but gained it all back plus a lot more.
29837 tn?1414534648 This is the weight I weighed at 27 years old. For many years now, my weight has been 185. The now weight of 175 lbs. is a loss of 17 lbs. in less than 3 weeks after leaving the hospital. Funny thing is, my appetite is ravenous, my blood tests all came beck fine last week, as well as still cleared of Hep C. My energy level is normal I've heard somewhere that because muscle weighs, it has to be taken into consideration when weighing someone.
Avatar f tn Its good you've set a goal and are looking to find out how to achieve it! However losing 15 pounds in a month is unrealistic and unhealthy. Did you know it takes about a year for your body to adjust to losing 10 pounds? It's important to remember weight loss is a marathon and not a sprint. In order to lose weight and keep it off, you shouldn't look at it as weight loss but a way to become healthier!

Avatar f tn I'm due April 24th and I've lost 20lbs since I found out at 6 weeks and am continuing to lose weight. My OB said that as long as I'm losing the weight in a healthy manner then all is good.
Avatar f tn Yes it's normal to lose weight while pregnant. I lost weight the first trimester and my doctor didn't worry as long as baby is growing. Just eat healthy and stay active! !
Avatar f tn I'm a little confused. Is anyone else losing weight? I'm 11weeks 5days. My weight before pregnancy was 180. 6weeks prego my weight was 168, 8weeks was 161, today i'm at 155. I thought in the beginning it was from morning sickness and being actually sick, but for 3 weeks i haven't had a lot of morning sickness since i started drinking sprite and i haven't been sick. I thought for sure by mid 11 weeks i would have gained at least a pound or two. Am I the only one losing?
