Avatar f tn Its good you've set a goal and are looking to find out how to achieve it! However losing 15 pounds in a month is unrealistic and unhealthy. Did you know it takes about a year for your body to adjust to losing 10 pounds? It's important to remember weight loss is a marathon and not a sprint. In order to lose weight and keep it off, you shouldn't look at it as weight loss but a way to become healthier!
Avatar n tn Diet and exercise are the only way(s) to lose weight and keep it off. No easy way has been invented that I know of.
Avatar n tn A good dietary regime and exercises all will be helpful in losing weight. Losing weight in a healthy way is important for maintaining the glow of your skin. Eat lots of fruits, dark green leafy vegetables, fruits and consume less of potato, sweetened and processed foods. Start your day by drinking lemon juice in warm water. Have fruits with lots of vitamin C in breakfast that will help you cut fats as vitamin C is a fat burner. Exercise daily for 30-40 minutes like walking or aerobic exercise.
Avatar f tn Healthy eating and moderate exercise are the best way to lose/keep weight off. You can't "spot lose", such as the belly, but you can tone the muscles, so it won't look as large. You might try yoga; it's excellent for toning muscles.
Avatar f tn Eat and exercise in a way that will also improve your health. But love and accept yourself just the way you are right now. Find the right clothes for your figure, instead of focusing on what you can't wear. If you are concerned about how you look in a bathing suit, find one that's right for you and also get a cute/flattering coverup. Please don't make the mistake I made. I wish I could have those years back.
Avatar f tn Diet aids such as Releana are not the best way to lose weight. While you might lose a considerable amount of weight on it, which might be nice, the chances of gaining it all back, once you go off the med are extremely high. I can't think of anyone I've ever known, who would stick to such a "diet" for any length of time.
Avatar f tn A healthy nutrition plan is the very first thing you should start with. Stay away from sugars and starches, eat plenty of veggies especially the greens, get plenty of lean protein in your diet like chicken breasts, most fish, lean pork tender loin, and very lean red meat. Exercise daily if possible. Even if only 10-15 minutes a day, don't think that because you can't spend a ton of time exercising that it's a waste of time. Any exercise at all is better than none.
Avatar f tn Breastfed and I tried to eat healthy but yea that was hard especially since thanksgiving was just a few days away lol but honestly it depends on your body some girls can eat healthy and exercise but it takes them a while to lose weight but some girls can excerise one time and lose 40 pounds hahaha
Avatar f tn With gradual consistent efforts, you should be able to lose weight as desired in a healthy way. If your weight still does not seem to budge, you may consider an evaluation by a physician to rule out hormonal/ endocrine imbalances. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar n tn t really need to gain if you were over weight when the pregnancy started. Eat healthy meals, normal portions, exercise moderately. You may lose weight naturally as baby takes up some of the excess calories you were consuming. I'd consider yourself weight neutral right now and just eat healthy with proper portion control and not worry about the end result of your weight.

Avatar m tn Skipping any of the food components is not considered healthy. Also when aiming at losing weight the protein intake may be slightly increased and the carbohydrate intake slightly lowered. The calorie requirement should also be adjusted for ones physical activities as well. Lower than adequate calorie intake can also cause weight gain, due to the stress hormones kicking in. Start with a healthy breakfast, moderate lunch and light dinner. Also keep a track of calorie intake and your work out.

Avatar f tn yes, i agreed with the post above. losing weight is a combination of diet and exercise. you can't have one without the other. and definitely, do not skip any meals. that's a big no-no. make sure the food you're eating are healthy options such as lean meats, whole wheat, good fats (low-fat), and lots of fruits and veggies. remember, to lose 1 pound, you must burn or get rid of 3500 calories. it's recommended that a healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds a week.

Avatar f tn I am heavy as well and my doctor said ok to lose weight from exercise and healthy eating as long as you dont overdo it and baby gets what it needs. I saw a nutritionist somewhere around 10 weeks or so. Currently at 19wks 4days. Eat alot of fruit and veggies, lean protein, and dairy. I also just joined the YMCA, do whatever you can comfortably do for exercise, swimming is highly recommended for heavier and pregnant women cause it takes stress off your joints.
Avatar f tn If you're gaining weight, in spite of a healthy diet and adequate exercise, you should talk to your doctor about getting some simple blood tests to determine whether or not you have hypothyroidism (under active thyroid). The thyroid controls metabolism, body temperature, heart rate and other important body functions; if the thyroid isn't producing enough hormones, your body functions will slow down. The tests you need are Free T3, Free T4 and TSH.
