Avatar n tn Your Thyroid could be not working properly. I was losing my hair & gaining weight rapidly & found out that my Thyroid was to blame. That is why I take a synthetic hormone for my thyroid now. I've stopped gaining the weight but before we had discovered what was causing all of my problems I went from a healthy 150lbs to an unhealthy 360lbs in about 6months time. Now that we have me on the synthyroid.
Avatar n tn Cutting down on calories to less than adequate is not considered healthy. Also when aiming at losing weight the protein intake may be slightly increased and the carbohydrate intake slightly lowered. The calorie requirement should also be adjusted for ones physical activities as well. Lower than adequate calorie intake can also cause weight gain, due to the stress hormones kicking in also causing erratic sugar levels in diabetics.
Avatar n tn I have a hard time losing weight fast? What are some of the healthy foods that you should be eating that will give the proteins and vitamins; not the fats and carbs?
Avatar f tn Ummm actually conditioner is very important to keep your hair healthy. Shampoo not only strips the dirt from your hair, but also the healthy oil and moisture that strengthens it. Conditioner replaces these and protects your hair from damage. Changing products might help though. Hair loss is probably related to hormones. Mention it at your next OB appt and see what the doc thinks.
Avatar n tn Let's see a 10 yr old cat that's losing weight and losing hair. This, to me, sounds like your cat has an overactive thyroid. Try doing a google search or yahoo search on hyperthyroidism and see if the symptoms fit. There's also a possiblility of kidney disease, as well. That could cause weight loss, too, but not hair loss. My main suspicion is hyperthyroid disease. This can be extremely dangerous because the heart rate increases big time. This can cause heart failure.
Avatar n tn s keeping you from losing weight. By eating regular meals, you can better incorporate a mix of vegetables, protein, whole grains and healthy fats into your diet. Snacking, typically, ends up being fruit, candy bars, crackers, sandwiches, chips and all the things that aren't so good for you and tend to make you, either, gain or hold onto weight.
Avatar n tn I'm not losing weight on hcg. Why? I am going straight by the 500 cal protocol, and I'm NOT cheating. 2 weeks - 4 pounds. I'm weighing and documenting everything I put in my mouth. I'm on 500 calories - NOT hungry and NOT losing weight.
Avatar f tn My average healthy weight is 60kg and I'm 161cm tall, now I'm 75kg which is overweight. I just finished the 3rd month yesterday. Is there a way to lose weight without hurting the baby? Cuz it's not healthy for me to stay in this weight while I'll gain 12kg more while pregnancy. Nothing hard or hurtful, walking is hard here since I'm in saudi Arabia and the heat reach 40c. I'm looking for healthy diet that won't hurt the baby if I do it.
Avatar f tn Its good you've set a goal and are looking to find out how to achieve it! However losing 15 pounds in a month is unrealistic and unhealthy. Did you know it takes about a year for your body to adjust to losing 10 pounds? It's important to remember weight loss is a marathon and not a sprint. In order to lose weight and keep it off, you shouldn't look at it as weight loss but a way to become healthier!

Avatar f tn Baby is pulling in all the nutrients it needs and that is partly why you feel so miserable and lose weight sometimes. My daughter was born 7 pounds and healthy. I ended up gaining what I lost plus 20 by the end of my pregnancy. You and baby should be just fine! Hope you feel better though, morning sickness is so miserable.

Avatar n tn I'm a 21 year old female. I've been healthy my whole life, my only ailment is asthma, however I played college soccer so that obviously isnt too much of an issue. I have a 6 month old. A couple months after I gave birth to her, I lost 10 lbs. in a week, and my weight continued to plummet. It actually still is, im down to 106, I should be at 125. My OB did a test to see why I was losing weight, my TSH came back with 0.02.
Avatar n tn I eat a lot now, do yoga once or twice a week but that is all. I am concerned because i dont know the cause of my weight loss. I eat healthy, feel healthy although occasional feel tired and fatigued and sometimes feel depressed. i dont know if all this is normal or if i shud worry. My body metabolism seems to dissolve all the food without gaining an inch? is that normal?

4945970 tn?1361450429 I lost 15 pounds my first trimester. I didn't start gaining the weight I needed till 18 weeks. I was healthy and so was my baby. I just couldn't eat because when I did I was throwing up. I've only gained a total of 4 pounds I believe my OB said. And I'm 22 weeks.
Avatar n tn My partner is still losing weight, although he feels healthy, and we are concerned, as he is very thin now. can you help, we took flagyl for giardia. His blood/thyroid/colonoscopy/cancer tests were all clear. He has just finished a course of flagyl, and feels good stomach and colon wise now.
Avatar n tn t really need to gain if you were over weight when the pregnancy started. Eat healthy meals, normal portions, exercise moderately. You may lose weight naturally as baby takes up some of the excess calories you were consuming. I'd consider yourself weight neutral right now and just eat healthy with proper portion control and not worry about the end result of your weight.
Avatar f tn Its all about how much you consume and what you are consuming. I started the same healthy eating as she did and have so far lost 3kgs. My current weight is 74 and I want to be 68. For breakfast I have oats or boiled egg, lunch I have a protein and salad and dinner I have a protein and veggies. I try not to snack and if I do its nuts or fruit. I calculate my calorie intake and have a Fitbit the One to help me track everything.
Avatar f tn They should be able to set and appropriate goal weight for you, and give you some tips on losing some weight. Never try starving yourself or making yourself throw up. You are wonderfully made. Keep going. You can do it.
