Avatar n tn As the first comment correctly stated, losing weight fast doesn't last and leaves you weaker, which you don't want to be if you're getting ready for basic training. Why not wait to join the military until you're ready?
Avatar f tn First if your body is not getting enough foods it can easily go into starvation mode and decide to hold or even gain weight. 1200 calories seems very low, especially given how much you exercise. So maybe you should keep your food around 1300 at minimum? It's hard to know the "sweet" spot that will keep your body healthy while loosing weight, but if you don't find it you will have a really hard time loosing weight.

Avatar n tn Most people can improve the quality of the food they eat and lose weight. The first thing to do is switch from soft drinks to water. Soda should be a rare treat once or twice a month, not every day. Avoid fast food and eat home-cooked, well-balance meals focusing on a variety of vegetables as well as poultry, fish, and lean meats. Whole fruits are fine, and better than juices because they have more fiber you need. Don't fry food. Use healthier methods and healthy oils.
Avatar f tn I eat healthy - no junk, no fast food, and lots of water. Only problem is my weight is exactly the same as it was on day one. What the heck?! It is SO discouraging to not see that number going down. What am I doing wrong?!?!?!?!
Avatar f tn You're apparently not too used to working out, so you have to start slowly and build up as you get stronger. Anything that gets/keeps you moving is doing something for you. While cardio is good for you, you also need to do some strength training. You can do that in the form of squats, lunges, or using light weights. You can check out YouTube for various weigh bearing exercises. When you do strength training, you build muscle, and muscle burns fat.
Avatar f tn If your eating healthy and at a caloric deficit then it will show in time. How long have you been dieting? What is your calorie intake? Do you also do cardio? Loosing weight "fast" doesn't usually coincide with healthy. The average weight loss at a low caloric deficit is 2 lbs. per week safely.
Avatar n tn And how much do you exercise and what do you do? How tall are you? And know that losing weight quickly can be done, but not in a healthful fashion and not in a permanent way.
Avatar f tn Do you do Cardio before or after your workout? What time do you workout and do cardio? Do you do cardio on an empty stomach First thing in the morning to attack fat storage? There is so many things that you could be doing wrong and franly haven't provided the proper information for someone to give you the proper advice!! If you could be a little more specific maybe I could help you reach your fitness goals!
Avatar m tn I weigh about 287lbs (my goal is approximately 215lbs mostly muscle) at the moment after losing about 25lbs last month. I do cardio 6 days a week for 45 mins each time. I alternate my cardio workouts between the elliptical, the treadmill, and I use the bike and stairmaster seldomly. I am noticing great weight loss with this routine. I also do a pretty decent ab workout (which is tough for a fat guy) one or two days a week. I have coupled this routine with an effective diet as well.
1295533 tn?1272514780 The most important thing is never forget that you are gorgeous how you are! The only point of losing weight is to be healthy and live longer without the aid of others, the shape of body that comes with it is just a fun side effect!
Avatar f tn For losing weight the most effective way is to sprint for about 30seconds then jog for 30seconds and keep this going for about half an hour
Avatar f tn Listen there is no easy magic solution to losing weight. When going to the gym do high reps low weight and do the workouts fast without any breaks Lower your carb intake and caloric intake Increase the amount of protein you take in and go running often. There's a difference between training hard and over training your body is made in the kitchen . Lastly a rolles Royce takes 6 months to make and a Toyota takes 13 hours.
2053729 tn?1330435506 According to what I have researched, my BMR is 2485 and I eat about 1800 calories a day, so I should be losing weight just being me. Add in the approximate 2000 calories I burn with my exercise and I should be melting into a puddle! We do a lot of weights, pilates, abs, pushups, strength bands and squats at my aerobics class so I know my body is changing. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? I have had my thyroid checked in the last 4 months and it was "normal".
Avatar n tn Exercise is a way of life that brings your body to good health while losing weight or mantaining weight. 1-2 lbs is a reasonable weight loss goal per week not much more. Remember 1 lbs of fat is 3500 calories so you will have to burn that much calories in order to lose just 1 lb of fat. Be patient is it happens slowly.
