Common Questions and Answers about Losing weight during the holidays

losing-weight

Avatar f tn I put on 37lbs with my son last year. I lost a lot of it during delivery and the weeks following. Then I did next to notjing and went back to my normal diet and was back to my prepregnancy within 8mths. I just wanted to focus on my baby so didn't worry that much about it. This time ive been more careful tho and have only gained 12lbs so far at 32wks so I'm hoping its mostly baby.
1348686 tn?1310654243 I would def go to the doc if it continues after the holidays. But weight loss is not uncommon with anxiety. Some people gain and some people lose. Guess we are two people that lose weight from it.
973741 tn?1342342773 Hi everyone. There is a really quick and easy poll that they are asking as many as possible to participate on within the Healthy Cooking Community. Peekawho is the moderator and it is just a choice about whether you are trying to maintain your weight during the holidays or lose it. I'll post the link in a second but until then------ you can go to Forums and find it in the Community section. Thanks!!!!

Avatar f tn Im eating but losing weight and have not thrown up at all. Is this normal? The first time i went to the dr i was 176lbs average body size... And now almost three weeks later i am down to 170lbs. Yes ill admit i am drinking water and only water.
4715985 tn?1371582997 I havent actually puke so far during the pregnancy and ive gained my normal 5 lbs during my first three months. But in between week 12 and week 13 i lost 4lbs? Im pretty sure im eating as much as i did during the last couple of weeks. During my bad days of nausea i cant fit much but its getting better. Im just wondering if there would be a reason why i would lose weight in only a week? Im so scared that something bad will happen, is this normal?
579258 tn?1250649343 Try asking yourself this .. Do you want to greet the new year having remained on a healthy plan, losing weight and being the belle of the ball or the striking prince? Wouldn't it be great to have people come up and notice the difference and say, "My, YOU look stunning .. how are you doing that with the holidays?" How are you going to approach the holidays and greet the New Year?
20879826 tn?1560494038 It would not be wise to get slenderer to get pregnant but with no long-term plan to keep the weight off. Despite mythology in the baby world to the contrary, I gained 15 lbs. when breast-feeding, for example, and I was never overweight before. The body is surprising when pregnant and nursing, so you have to make your new diet and exercise plan a permanent life change.
Avatar f tn they have put me under pressure about losing weight and their method of pushing is insults and put downs about my body shape and weight. through the last holidays i found myself cracking under the pressure of their insults as well as everthing else and i went into the roof of our house and sat there for about an hour wondering what rafter would be best to hang myself off of fortunately i didnt take it any futher than thought.
Avatar f tn m 33 wks n have gained 30lbs so I feel your pain, but what I have tried to do is maintain the weight I am. I try to keep busy around the house and since its the holidays I walk a lot in the mall. Also try to eat more fruits, vegetables and drink plenty of water. I've been the same weight for 5 wks now, so I know it's working.
5536886 tn?1455827346 What stage of pregnancy will you be in during the upcoming holidays? What kind of challenges are you dealing with that might be complicated by the holiday festivities?
5913031 tn?1382391190 Definitely agree I'll be 35 weeks tomorrow and it just flew by.
Avatar f tn I'm almost 19 weeks. I've lost quite a bit of weight during the pregnancy. Around 23 pounds actually. I'm starting to worry the baby will be malnourished. I'm trying to eat more but I get sick. Still haven't felt movement either.
Avatar f tn Hi Lisa, my sister who is a doctor actually called me yesterday and cried. She is still struggling with my mother's death after 2 yrs. There is no way around it. My mother's birthday is next Wednesday and it's another year without the woman who gave birth to me and her birthday is Thanksgiving. It's still difficult, but our family is going to get together, take her flowers for her birthday and Thanksgiving and we have so much to be thankful with a new baby in the family.
Avatar f tn I didnt start showing till I was 25 weeks and now im at 34 and you can tell im starting to get big. I was losing weight in the beginning and was worried. But my dr said we all carry different. Me in wide and bigger boned and stay arpund 175-180 my doc said since im bigger my baby had more room and I didn't have to grow out.
Avatar f tn I lost 10 pounds In less than a month but i had problem getting food into my system because of all the queasiness but weight loss during the first trimester is normal as long as you make sure to drink your prenatal vitamins, that will help you a lot with all the nutrients you and your baby need during weight loss.
Avatar f tn Has anyone not gained any pounds at all during there whole pregnacy?? Just a bit concerned. I don't vomit I eat little snacks during the day and I feel great. But just not weight gained. So just wondering if it seems ok?
Avatar f tn Im 27 weeks and ive lost 7 pounds due to watching my carbohydrates
Avatar n tn No Im 32 weeks pregnant I lost weight at the first trimester and gained weight at the middle or my second trymester its normal that happens sometimes you will gain and lose weight during your pregnancy.
805878 tn?1243615673 I am 17 weeks today and I am still 15pound lower than my prepregnancy weight. The initial weight loss was due to Hyperemesis Gravidarum (fancy name for extreme morning sickness). However I continued to loose weight after being put on medication which stopped the vomiting. They did some tests and my thyroid was overfunctioning. It turns out that it is an autoimmune problem for me called Graves Disease.
Avatar f tn You probably gained mostly water weight In the beginning and now are starting to lose it....its normal to lose weight during the first trimester and most women lose at least a few pounds, but others will gain more In the beginning and less later on! Just try to remember that the baby needs no more than 300calories a day and that's actually not until the 2nd and 3rd trimester, during the 1st you don't need any extra calories per day!!
Avatar f tn My friend was 235 and by the time she was done being pregnant, she weighed 175 and had so far, kept the weight off. I lost weight in the beginning of all my pregnancies.
10913038 tn?1424227711 So I am 29 weeks and I have been exercising, increasing my water intake and eating healthy. I have actually lost weight. Is it safe to lose weight during pregnancy? I feel great and I have lots of energy. I was not very overweight to begin with, maybe just a little for my height. I just want to make sure it's safe. I plan on asking my dr next week but thought I would ask u guys too.
Avatar f tn I normally work out quite a bit, but sometimes life gets in the way and I cant make it to the gym. And during the winter time... sometimes it becomes non exsistent, and i notice that every time i pick back up with my exercise routine i will retain a bit of water and the scale will go up, but eventually it goes back down. I wouldnt worry too much about it, your eating healthy, and exercising, your doing your body good.
