797971 tn?1238008431 I have a ifit treadmill at home. A few weights for your hands, and that's about it. Dh & I came up with a schedule for exercise last night. I wanted to run them by you so you could see what you all thought. Push ups will be a lower amount because I can't really hold my weight up good yet. I just have to pace myself. Eventually the push ups will be every other week because I don't want too much muscle on my arms. My Dh bought me some perfect pushups to help me with them at first.
Avatar f tn I then lost about 10-15 lbs in 1 1/2 months by eating better and drinking more water and using the treadmill (run/walk) 5 (+/-) time a week for about an hour or so (4-5 miles). Just because. I came back to my office job 1 year ago (where a lot of women who like to eat work as well). I was 175 lbs when I came back. Now I weigh 205...Thats 30 lbs in one year. I joined a gym in February and then hired a trainer in March. We've been working together for about a month now.
Avatar m tn Its the treadmill stuff that *****. What other things on the treadmill i can do?
Avatar f tn First if your body is not getting enough foods it can easily go into starvation mode and decide to hold or even gain weight. 1200 calories seems very low, especially given how much you exercise. So maybe you should keep your food around 1300 at minimum? It's hard to know the "sweet" spot that will keep your body healthy while loosing weight, but if you don't find it you will have a really hard time loosing weight.
Avatar n tn Most experts recommend 30-60 minutes of aerobic exercise three or four days a week, along with two or three days of weight-bearing, resistance exercise (such as weight lifting). This is sufficient to achieve satisfying results. You can exercise daily or on alternate days, depending on the availability of time. Walking is one of the simplest aerobic exercises. You can vary the intensity to match your fitness level.
Avatar n tn Exercise is a way of life that brings your body to good health while losing weight or mantaining weight. 1-2 lbs is a reasonable weight loss goal per week not much more. Remember 1 lbs of fat is 3500 calories so you will have to burn that much calories in order to lose just 1 lb of fat. Be patient is it happens slowly.
Avatar f tn I need help losing weight, I weigh 195 and want to weigh 175 by the end of August 29. Today is July 10, and I'm aiming for a 20 pound goal. Last month I went one a half week of working out (constant running for 1 1/2 hour daily) and I lost five pounds. I weighed 200 pounds. But now I need to stick to it, I'm dieting, and drinking plenty of water, and going to start working out today again.
Avatar n tn run at 6mph for 2 minutes then run at 3mph or rest for 2 minutes) will be more effective in losing weight than if I ran or walked at a steady pace.Is there any truth to this>?
Avatar f tn I have been trying to lose weight for some time. About 6 months ago my treadmill died so I purchased a stationary bike to change things up. I feel like I need double the time on this thing to get my heartrate up. Do others feel the same way? Is walking really the best thing to flatten this stomach?
Avatar m tn m not sure if not having enough protein is contributing to me not losing weight. I hear people talk about how they lose a pound a week and the such, but I've run 5 miles a day for 5 days straight for 1 month and have only lost 1-2 lbs. What am I doing wrong?!
Avatar f tn The whole idea of losing weight is get healthy and keep the weight off. The more yoyo dieting we do, the harder it is to maintain steady weight later in life.
Avatar f tn Hi, you may begin with light weight training exercises, yoga or slight warmup exercises like jogging or doing treadmill. Gaining weight or losing weight are long processes, so you have to be patient. Do whichever exercises you like but aerobics are the best. Also take a balanced diet constituting carbohydrates and proteins in the ratio 4:1. Once you start feeling confident and energetic, maybe in one month, who may increase the intensity of fewer exercises. I hope this helps you.
Avatar n tn Well first let me say im no expert here ...but i see a few things. 1. you're doing wieght training so you're likely adding muscle while burning fat..muscle weighs more than fat so i would suggest you ignore the scale for a bit. 2. you might try doing weigth training only 2 or 3 days a week to stay toned and add a bit to the cardio.. 3.you may not be eating enough ..
8526246 tn?1405601876 What would be better to buy for losing weight after baby arrives... Jogging stroller or a thread mill???
Avatar n tn I only exercised 3 times a week 30-60 minutes (at least 20 minutes of moderate cardio, the treadmill is good) but I increased my workout time every 2 weeks by 5 minutes, but everyone's metabolism is different. You really should try and switch up your workouts/increase the time you workout because your body can be used the workouts and it could become ineffective.
Avatar n tn 10 and weigh 22 stones and 7 lbs for the past 3 weeks i have been exercising every day, and have been on a liquid diet, where i am having 1 slimfast milkshake as my daily meal, in the first 2 weeks i noticed that i had lost just over a stone as i was originally 23 1/2, but in the third week i have noticed that i am not losing as much weight, i am currently doing 45 mins cardio on my treadmill, followed by 15 mins on my punch bag, and then i would do weight training for 15 mins.
Avatar f tn Hello! I am 36yrs old and weigh 265lbs. My doctor put me on a low carb/no sugar diet. Last month, I faithfully exercised doing The Firm DVD's 5 days a week and walking at least 30 min. 5-6 days a week. I also stuck to the eating plan all month, with the exception of 2 days. The scale only moved (up and down) within a 3lb range. I am very discouraged. I've lost weight before using Weight Watchers. I haven't exercised like this in years....
Avatar n tn My workout consists of 10 or 1 mile on the bike which ever comes first, and the same running/jogging on the treadmill. And then doing the weight circuit at my local gym. I feel like im working my butt off yet the machines only say i have burned like 50 calories! And last night i got on the scale and weighed myself for the first time and i about started to cry! I cant be THAT big! Im just frustrated and want to know how long its gonna take for me to see results and if im doing the right things?
Avatar f tn ) sorry your having a hard time with your weight , losing weight and keeping it off can be hard . i think the reason your not seeing results is because your yo yo dieting your confusing your body you dont eat so your body holds on to everything then you get and you gai it back. you have to train your body.
1612720 tn?1298346909 (I just thought of this too, and it is the case in my case) You may be gaining muscle mass. Instead of losing weight, you are staying the same by developing muscle mass. (I actually began to gain weight because of my training routine. I was training like a body builder which is really all I knew. Now I concentrate on cardio, cardio, cardio! The treadmill, the stationary bike, the eliptical machine and the stair stepper are my best friends in the gym.
