If you're exercising quite a bit, it's customary to build muscle, which will keep your weight more stable, but since muscle is more densely packed, a pound of muscle doesn't take up as much space as a pound of fat.

This i had done by investing a lot of time in the gym and working out and eating a low carbohydrate but a healthy diet. However, i am concerned because i stopped working out or dieting since March 2007 and my weight seemed to remain the same to 56 kilos.
Avatar m tn Are the calories you're counting within a reasonable limit? Maybe your current target is a bit high. Of those calories, how much are saturated fats? Maybe you're eating very few calories, but not necessarily of the best type. What type of exercise 30 minutes a day? Maybe you can stretch that to 45' - or if it's only cardio, throw in some weight training before that. Also: have you given it enough time?

I think you have to be careful more about your exercise in gym. You should follow the exercise which is specifically for belly or waist. And please consult a doctor to confirm that you are not loosing your muscle.

Avatar f tn When you tone muscle it becomes a heavy mass, heavier than fat, therefore you will weight more but as you said losing inches. This is totally normal and healthy! Im a qualified personal trainer and what you described there is totally normal, your losing weight in a healthy manner which is hard to do so fair play to you, keep it up! The thyroid will set you back and losing weight will take longer! If you are worried and need any advice you can PM me!

Please remember the Pounds & Inches Manuscript...the body is losing weight and because you are drinking so much water, the body is teleasing all the fats in your body. HCG wants to make sure that your skin does not droop so it works not only on the scale but it also works on the inches. That means that it is working on moving the fats in inches. Sometimes that is not done on the scale. Also the body has weight set points.
Avatar n tn When focusing on weight loss instead of measuring on a scale try measuring yourself with a tape measure and see the inches come off. It is common the inches go first before the weight drops off. Next I would look at your diet, how many meals a day? Portion size? % of fat, carbs, protein consuming in a day approx? Do you et late at night? Are you eating to many calories for your body? How much sodium are you taking in as that can cause you to retain water?

Have you done any measurements to check inches lost? You should keep a food diary and record everything you eat. Often we eat a lot more than we think we do. I hadn't been keeping a food diary, but I do now and it can be a real eye-opener. It shows us where we're getting off track.

Watch the artificial sweeteners; they can actually sabotage your efforts, by making you crave more. Stevia is a much better choice. Are you keeping a food diary to keep watch on the amount you eat? MedHelp has an excellent food tracker. What type(s) of exercise are you doing to lose your inches?
Avatar f tn I around 1200 cals a day I eat a good amount of protein and I go to the Gym 7 days a week, I started interval training about 2 weeks ago because I thought I reached a weight plateau but i am still not losing any more weight I am doing strength training 2-3 days a week. I have been doing this for a month counting the first couple of weeks when i lost 5 pounds. I don't even feel like I am getting toned! Avatar f tn I agree that you could be losing inches, but if you aren't losing inches, possibly, you aren't cutting calories enough. Have you calculated your daily calorie needs and are you staying within the allotment?

It was probably due to it being the most stressful semester of my college career. Still, I have been working out 5 times a week doing 30 min of cardio (biking or jogging) and limiting myself to around 1200 (sometimes 1300) calories.

Avatar f tn t mean to judge or anything, just that there is an easier and less dangerous way of losing weight. Have you ever heard of hcg? It is a hormone that can be injected either daily or weekly, depending on the type, and is used concurrently with a very low calorie diet. People have been known to lose about a pound a day using this method. IF you want more info, check out the book "Pounds and Inches" by Dr. ATW Simeons. He is the doctor who discovered how the hcg helps with weight loss.
Avatar f tn I eat about 1500-1700 and according to my HRI burn anywhere from 2,500-1,500(depending how many practices we have in a day). Even if I am off by even 500 cal I should be losing weight quicker then I am. Help?!
