Avatar f tn If your mom has been overweight and had trouble losing weight, it could be normal for her to lose weight with a dosage increase; however, if she didn't need to lose weight and is losing too fast, it's possible that her dosage is too high. Did they test her thyroid hormone levels before they increased her Thyronorm dosage? If so, can you post them for us to see?
Avatar f tn But if you mean fat from a body it can be done only by burning it (apart from the surgery). You can burn the extra fat by creating the deficit of you daily calories allowance - dieting and/or by doing exercises. Combination of both of them works the most efficient.
Avatar f tn I'm about 13 weeks and keep losing weight. Not sure why. I eat, but i know I'm not getting the calories I need. I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables mostly because that's what's sounds good. I'm also eating a lot of protein too. Anyone else experienced weight loss?

Avatar n tn After delivering my last baby(at which I hemoraged and lost 49% of my blood) it was discovered that apparently my thyroid stopped working. After 6 weeks and still not recovering, my doctor put me on synthroid to see if that would make a difference. Within a week I finally starting feeling a little better, well at least I had some energy finally - however, I still suffered from constipation, hair loss, excessive heat issues, and sever skin sensitivity.

My doctor a first had no concern and suggest as long as I gain the 25+pounds by the end ill be fine. But now it has become an concern. I feel like I eat pretty good foods and smaller but more meals daily. But I'm not packing on the pounds. This is my second baby after an 8year gap I was 170 having my first at delivery.
Avatar f tn I had my Nissen done on 10/18/10. For the most part, my recovery has gone very smoothly. I can eat pretty much anything now without trouble, my symptoms are gone, and overall I feel pretty good. However, I'm still slowly losing weight. I expected the immediate weight loss that I had in the first week or so because of the liquid/soft diet, but I'm still losing about a half a pound a week. I eat what I feel are normal portions, and I eat until I feel full.

Avatar f tn Its good you've set a goal and are looking to find out how to achieve it! However losing 15 pounds in a month is unrealistic and unhealthy. Did you know it takes about a year for your body to adjust to losing 10 pounds? It's important to remember weight loss is a marathon and not a sprint. In order to lose weight and keep it off, you shouldn't look at it as weight loss but a way to become healthier!
