When insulin is low your body is in fat burning mode and when elevated your body stores fat. Carbohydrates (sugars) have biggest effect on insulin levels." I couldn't of said it better myself! I've lost 8.4kg cutting out refined sugar with no exercise.

Avatar f tn I am now SVR (over 1 year now) and while on meds (Jun - Dec 2014) I lost about 25 lbs but eating a liver friendly diet, cutting out all sugar, watching my portions, and have continued to follow that diet, although a little more relaxed about ice cream, etc (still no candy). I am now down 35 lbs, and plan to continue my life style change - eating better and walking more. I truly believe that may have helped me not have problems as I was overweight - still am, to a degree.

Avatar f tn There may also be simple things you can do to start losing weight such as cutting out added sugar in cerals, tea / coffee, avoiding fruit juices, soft drinks and sweetened drinks of any kind (replace with water). Keep a diet diary and then review it for what you can change / cut out / replace with something lower calorie.

Don't drop the weight quickly, this is rarely a long-term solution. If I took time and had the mental discipline I could have lost weight many times over. Do it once, do it right. Issues with weight and body image are taxing (emotionally, physically and financially) and demoralizing.
Avatar f tn Don't cut calories just eat healthy foods and drink only water. You need the calories to stay healthy. Cut soda tea and juice altogether. Actually look at the weight watchers diet for pregnant or breastfeeding mom's.
