Avatar n tn What I found to work "FAST" is bike riding. I started eating chicken, lean meats and fish. Lots of vegetables and salads and cut out white bread. I started riding my bike on a nearby trail for 6-12 miles at least 4-5 times a week. Drink PLENTY of water and in 3 weeks I was getting compliments. My upper body, arms and everywhere started slimming down. SO, throw a little exercise in your daily activities and make strawberries your after school snack! Good luck!
Avatar m tn I didnt want to put my life on hold due to this so i began losing weight again little by little from walking and other ways but i stopped weight lifting and bike riding pretty much due to the fear of having that thing bloodclot again(thrombose). It was late August when this began and it is now January. I still have the hemorrhoids, though i find its better to call it piles since they dont hurt, are only slightly uncomfortable and still have never seen any blood.

I started out just walking but now i have started riding now. I also do weights a few times a week, 10 lbs weights doing 30 reps at a time upper arms and core. What am I doing wrong?
Avatar f tn hi, i asked my doctor a similar question when i was pregnant but it was about riding a push bike and he strongly recommended that i didnt because it puts presure on your pelvis and can cause problems and as meccah24 said it is extremely dangerous

Avatar m tn I get to the cafe stop, half way on a 45 mile Club run, stop for a coffee (3 sugars) and bit of cake. When back on the bike, only after about 3-5 miles of riding, I find myself getting a bit bonky. Soon as I start feeling this I get out the jelly babies and neck some more drink (sugary drink). I have a hunch that when my body stops any exercise and then starts to drink sweet coffee and eating cake, this sends up my Insulin.

I get tingling sensations all through the middle or the saddle area and then when I need to get off of the bike my legs are tingling and feel like they are not quite there like jello legs. I have to stand still for a few minutes before I can start to walk. I haven't told anyone because my hubby has already let me know that my days of riding on the bike are limited.
Avatar n tn i f it is to lose weight then all you need to know is, you only need to do about an hour per day on the exercise bike and cut your calories by 500per day to lose roughly 2-3lbs a week. If the reason is the other for a specific reason then a would say probably not unless your training for some type of event,.

I am keeping my calorie intake around 1200 to 1500 calories daily. I understand that I may be putting on muscle but I am also getting discouraged with not losing weight. Monkey You will find that by dropping your calories to under 1800 calories per day you will be more successful at your weight loss. For most people they need to walk 35 miles to lose 1 lb of fat--possibly shorter for bike riding but not by much. But if one cuts their daily calories so they are lightly hungry for a few hours a day and focus on a lean protein & low carb diet, then they should lose 1-3 lbs per week.

A combination of aerobic, strength training and stretches works best. Many people find it difficult to fit an exercise regimen into their lives. The best way is to join a nutrition expert and a physical trainer (or a gym) and follow their advice. Incorporating yoga into this regimen takes stress out of this exercise to lose weight.
Avatar f tn Losing weight does have a lot to do with diet, but I've always found that exercise works best for me. Walking is really good, but you have to keep changing things up, so your body doesn't get used to the same thing. During the winter, I do about 3-6 miles/day because I have a walking partner and we can get out, but during the summer, I'm more likely to hit the treadmill because hubby doesn't like me walking alone and it's really too hot to do a lot outside.
