Avatar n tn Ok so my girlfriend has what has been classified as anorexia nervosa by her doctors that was much worse in the past than it is now. Avatar m tn If you have already reached then then you should work owards maintaining it and not losing weight further. Too fast weight loss can cause rebound weight gain. Also, it can cause other problems such as loose skin, flabs at unwanted places etc. Apart from losing weight, you need to tone up the body. A combination of aerobic, strength training and stretches works best. Many people find it difficult to fit an exercise regimen into their lives.

869670 tn?1239964618 I was so happy at the time where I thought I was my heaviest (which was a whopping 110 lbs. Big deal, huh?) I thought that losing weight after someone made a comment about me being a little chubby would make me happier. But losing weight didn't make me happy. It's making me miserable. I don't want to go through this anymore. I just need a release.

Avatar m tn She has lost an extreme amount of weight. A couple of years ago when this all began, she was losing weight quickly and couldn't eat anything unless it was pureed. Without going into all the details, she presented all the signs of anorexia and still does. She's been in and out of the hospital many times and near death. She and her family continue to tell everyone that it's LD.

18663 tn?1198171815 Hi Thanks so much for taking my question. While I don't know for sure, I suspect my girlfriend has anorexia. She has been dropping a lot of weight, but says it's because she's too fat. Right now she is 5'4" and weighs about 92 pounds and she looks like ****!. She thinks she's FAT! Everytime we go out for dinner she only eats a few bites and then has to go to the ladies room.

The best advice I heard was get a life. Eating should only take up some of your day not your whole life. There are plenty of other things to do. Be happy.

Avatar f tn Wow - what's all the "gloom and doom" over a bit of tummy bulge? I certainly can't see ballet as the only means of reducing tummy fat; nor would liposuction necessarily be called for. Are you making sure you are eating the right types of food? Don't forget that "good" fats are necessary to a healthy diet and can can help reduce tummy bulge. In addition, maybe you could try yoga for exercise a couple days a week.

However, if your friends do notice and feel you have eating issues, then it is best to consult a doctor dealing with eating disorders and find out if you really have a problem. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.
1050362 tn?1253918483 By that point my whole life was down to obsession about food and weight and I stopped caring about losing weight but only making the craziness stop! Avatar n tn If you have cut down on fat and carbohydrates then this can explain the weight loss. There are many causes like worms in stool, depression, anorexia nervosa, AIDS, cancers especially colon cancers, drug abuse, infections and loss of appetite. Loss of appetite can again be due to certain medications, drug abuse, depression, AIDS, acute and chronic infections, cancers and hypothyroidism. Either you do not eat well or there is increased metabolism as in hyperthyroid states, HIV, cancer etc.
