Having a heavy period and clots are normal after a myomectomy surgery. I had my myomectomy done on Dec 8, 2008 and after I left the hospital three days after the surgery my period started on December 17, 2008 and lasted 13 days. I passed massive clots, and like you I was alarmed by the amount of blood I was loosing, but that was all normal and I'm doing fine. I look forward to getting pregnant in February of 2009.

HI, Some amount of pain and bleeding and some alteration in menstrual pattern can be expected after a myomectomy. However incontinence is not normal and you need to see your Doctor for this. Urinary infection can be one of the reasons for incontinence, but you have ruled this out. If the incontinence is occurring because of laxity of tissues then kegel’s exercises will help. I am almost 40. I had surgery about 2 months ago to remove several fibroids. Before then I had a miscarriage, possibly due to the fibroids being so large. We would like to conceive again and praying for a healthy and happy delivery. Just wondering what are the chances of conceiving and delivery after all that I have gone through within a year's time? Prayerfully, we will be able to conceive by the latter part of the year.

Hi hubby on wk20 on Tues out of 24wk when he finished with the teleprevir his appetite came back but he is still losing weight so far he as lost over 2 stone and we cant understand why when he eating so well.

My doctor is recommending that i do an abdominal myomectomy for removing the fibroid and then attempt a FET. I am perfectly normal and healthy otherwise. We also have a primary MF issue. Has anyone else been successful in getting pregnant after a myo? I am confused if surgery is the right thing to do for a 5 cm fibroid...any pieces of advise?

As the first comment correctly stated, losing weight fast doesn't last and leaves you weaker, which you don't want to be if you're getting ready for basic training. Why not wait to join the military until you're ready?
