29837 tn?1414534648 Going into the hospital, I weighed 185 (my normal weight). Upon release I now weighed 192. This after having been denied food for 9 days, then 6 days of regular diet Lately, I noticed my watch is not tight on my wrist anymore, I weighed myself yesterday. I now weigh 175 lbs. This is the weight I weighed at 27 years old. For many years now, my weight has been 185. The now weight of 175 lbs. is a loss of 17 lbs. in less than 3 weeks after leaving the hospital.
Avatar n tn I have lost nearly 20 kilos ( 44 lbs) since my surgery. But I know that only part of that was to do with being on medication after my TT last Dec and the rest to bloody hard work on my part! Saw a Naturopath as I wasn't losing any weight by May this year...and felt lousy. I have lost most of the weight to changing my diet and doing excersise. I can see how easily I can gain weight even though I am now officially hyperthyroid! So I do my utmost to keeping the weight down.
Avatar n tn I'm concerened about losing weight after my tummy tuck. Will it look like ****? Has this happened to anyone. Will I look even better?
Avatar n tn I was losing a lot of weight before the surgery, obviously because of gall stones and pain, but now, almost a month after surgery, I am still losing weight. I am getting sick with every sickness my husband or daughter bring home, and I just look "sickly". Is this normal after this kind of surgery? I also have to go get my bile duct stint removed on 3/5/08. Could this be part of the problem? I am very confused...any information will be greatly appreciated.
347645 tn?1283220742 I had the MVD surgery and within two weeks the schocks came back in by eyes, nose, jaw, and forehead stronger than ever. Is there any new procedures that will help me after having the MVD surgery. The pain is so severe sometimes I think I'm losing my mind. Any information will be helpful.
Avatar n tn I lost quite a lot of weight after my bypass surgery, I assumed it was a more efficient heart enabling fluid retention to be more controlled. Saying that, when I came off the strong pain killers (about 3 months post), I started to eat a lot more and I ended up back at my original weight. If he looks OVER lean, gaunt, then I would have a Doctor check him over. Is he drinking plenty of fluids?
Avatar n tn m losing a lot of weight lately, even though my weight is stable. I have been eating a lot more, though, without gaining any weight.
Avatar n tn Ok, I haven't actually gained weight yet, but I haven't lost any either. Up until my gall bladder surgery I had been losing an average of 2 pounds a week. I'm on Weight Watchers and am extremely committed to eating right and exercising. I keep a food journal and write down everything I eat. I'm eating the same way as pre-surgery and exercising daily. I can't see any reason why my weight loss has stopped. Is this because I don't have a gall bladder anymore?
Avatar f tn Told I was stressed and detoxing off Ativan. I went on the Keto diet for three months losing a little weight (maybe 10 pounds). I’m on an anti thyroid medication that makes you gain mor weight and hard to lose it. Frustrating. Food isn’t my problem since I’ve been on medication. Frustrated and desperate to lose weight. My question is, would gastric bypass work for someone like me? Thank you for reading my rant!
Avatar f tn t have the energy to workout like I used to even though I am trying. Can I still loose weight after my thyroid surgery like I am now which I hope I will it's better to loose than gain. I much prefer where I am right now at 125lbs than my normal weight 160lbs. Again thank you for you advice, also should my body go back to it's normal stage when my thyroid is removed.

Avatar n tn my husband and i are planning to get pregnant soon and need to know whether i need to wait till after i have another child. I am losing bone in my jaw secondary to my canines being completely removed. I don't have enough bone, so I have to have a bone graft and then afterwards I am having dental implant surgery. I don't want to sound like I have no intelligence, but wanted to know if you could have those types of procedures while pregant?
1046985 tn?1305117048 I put a lot of weight on with my cysts but within 4 weeks after surgery I'd lost it all. With the advent of the surgery I also took advantage of it to change my eating habits and it allowed me to continue losing weight.
Avatar n tn The yellow patches are just bruises, I know they may not look like normal bruising but that's what it is, they may get darker before fading or they may simply fade and go without worsening at all, I thought mine were because my neck was dirty and tried washing them off!!
Avatar f tn I have just recently "finished" meanopause, well, most of the symptoms are gone and I've "flatlined" out hormonally, which is fine with me, but after losing about 20 lbs last year, I have hit the wall and no matter what I do, I can't lose any more weight. Work out 4-5 times a week and have been FAITHFULLY following Weight Watcher since Jan 7th. Initially lost 5 lbs but have rapidly gained back 3, without a single change to my diet or exercise patterns.
Avatar n tn I have always had difficulties losing weight, but my TSH levels have never supported a Thyroid issue. I had LapBand surgery last May (2008), lost 20 pounds within the first month, but have since leveled off and remained within the same 5-lb window. Recent tests have shown that I am producing sufficient thyroid hormone to be borderline Hyperthyroid, but that my body is not properly converting the hormone and thus leaving me with multiple symptoms of Hypothyroid.
Avatar n tn After someone has lost a significant amount of weight, a new issue can emerge when previously stretched skin has lost some of its elasticity and can sag uncomfortably. A surgical approach is often recommended depending on how significant the problem is - this procedure is called a panniculectomy, in which excess fat and skin is removed. An alternative procedure is an abdominoplasty, in which the abdominal muscles are tightened as well.
