Avatar f tn t kill yourself) and no soda, alcohol or cigarette smoking. The key to losing weight (and keeping it off) is to never diet... diets don't last! Changing your life does! Remember, real changes don't happen over night, things on life worth having takes effort, dedication and time. Good luck!
Avatar n tn As the first comment correctly stated, losing weight fast doesn't last and leaves you weaker, which you don't want to be if you're getting ready for basic training. Why not wait to join the military until you're ready?
Avatar n tn I can tell you from experience that if you plan on losing more weight...wait to have your tummy tuck. I lost 50 lbs and now I need to have the surgery all over again. I have also lost alot of weight (185 lbs) to begin with which may have a bearing on my results as well cause my skin is really bad...best thing is to talk to your Dr and let him know your concerns. Good luck.
Avatar n tn Why do you want to be underweight? If you love sports you most likely have a lot of muscle mas making up your current underweight BMI. Get a fat percentage measurement done and you may find that you should actually worry more about properly nourishing and taking care of your body's needs than losing weight. Don't hurt yourself, and your body will continue to play sports. Underweight is not good. http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/guidelines/obesity/BMI/bmicalc.
1467664 tn?1288579313 m 5/5)and at one point was 81 pounds(yuck) I lookwd gross and felt worse.but in answer to losing weight the healthy way and not only am I a type 1 I also am a personal trainer.Timing meals ,excercise and insulin are important.Cutting out carb stotally is not a good idea because your body does need the enrgy especially when you are workinh out.Not sure what dose you are on but once you start a workout plan you will see your needs decrease .
Avatar n tn I have lost nearly 20 kilos ( 44 lbs) since my surgery. But I know that only part of that was to do with being on medication after my TT last Dec and the rest to bloody hard work on my part! Saw a Naturopath as I wasn't losing any weight by May this year...and felt lousy. I have lost most of the weight to changing my diet and doing excersise. I can see how easily I can gain weight even though I am now officially hyperthyroid! So I do my utmost to keeping the weight down.
Avatar f tn I'm about 13 weeks and keep losing weight. Not sure why. I eat, but i know I'm not getting the calories I need. I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables mostly because that's what's sounds good. I'm also eating a lot of protein too. Anyone else experienced weight loss?
Avatar n tn They said my TSH was at 5. which is odd as I am losing weight. As a matter of fact....too much. In one years time almost 50 pounds and in this past month 5 pounds. I think that losing weight is fine "Great" being after the thyroidectomy for an incidental papillary cancer seemed to keep weight on me for 4 years however....My legs feel very heavy from the theighs to the calves and some days feels difficult to walk.
Avatar f tn I was back to my pre pregnancy weight and size 4 months after. Your body bounces back slower with more kids. My second I gained 50 and was 5 lbs heavier than my pre pregnancy but I was doing more weight lifting whereas before I did mostly cardio with some weights so I suppose some of that could have been muscle.
Avatar n tn I know because my Sunshine went through this also. He was eating like a hog and losing weight!!! I was frightened. He would also display odd behaviors once in a while. If this is what it is (all that is required to dx this is a blood test), there are three treatment options that I knew of then (year 2000): A particular medication whose name escapes me(something like Beclor)......This made Sunshine MUCH worse. Surgery on the thyroid gland to remove the benign tumor....
Avatar f tn I'm 52 and any female . I want to lose weight and I've been trying but it is so so hard so it's true after you turn 50 it's hard to lose weight anybody have any suggestions !
Avatar f tn There is no guarantee that you will have no loose skin at all, but slow, steady weight loss from exercise and a healthy diet (nothing extreme) is your best option. Losing the weight slowly gives your skin time to regain it's elasticity. Exercise helps you tone up as well which again should help the skin tighten. I'm no expert, this is just what I've read! But I do wish you all the best and hope it works out for you!
2053729 tn?1330435506 According to what I have researched, my BMR is 2485 and I eat about 1800 calories a day, so I should be losing weight just being me. Add in the approximate 2000 calories I burn with my exercise and I should be melting into a puddle! We do a lot of weights, pilates, abs, pushups, strength bands and squats at my aerobics class so I know my body is changing. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? I have had my thyroid checked in the last 4 months and it was "normal".
Avatar f tn So happy that I didn't gain any weight this week so far I have gained 50 lbs. I gained about the same with my daughter. I lost it all pretty quickly with breastfeeding yoga and pilates but now that I'm 30 I'm not sure how my body will respond this time around. I stay active now by taking very long walks at a moderate pace. I just hope to snap back.
Avatar f tn The 50% and 75%, I believe, represents that 50% and 75% of women your age and race have lower values of calcium score and volume, respectively.... so you're roughly normal for your age. My calcium score was 720 and that's worrisome (90% of men my age have lower scores)- - a couple of blockages of 30% or less were also detected. Even so, my cardiologist didn't seem too concerned.
6520484 tn?1399082398 But I still have 20lbs of fat that I put on during the pregnancy. Just wondering if anyone had success in losing the baby weight? I could use some pointers. I already eat healthy and all I drink is water and milk, no juice or pop or anything. I'm too tired to exercise (with Two week old baby and all). Anyone do anything to lose the weight that really worked?
Avatar n tn Anyhow Effexor did wonders for my attitude however after 3 years I am now convinced that it was the cause for all the excess weight. Anyhow I was wondering if the weight comes off after I get off the meds? or am I stuck with excess weight forever in which case I will be contacting my doctor because they lied to me.
Avatar n tn Your Thyroid could be not working properly. I was losing my hair & gaining weight rapidly & found out that my Thyroid was to blame. That is why I take a synthetic hormone for my thyroid now. I've stopped gaining the weight but before we had discovered what was causing all of my problems I went from a healthy 150lbs to an unhealthy 360lbs in about 6months time. Now that we have me on the synthyroid.
Avatar f tn s best to calculate number of calories needed, based on your current age, weight, height and activity level. That way you can make sure you get enough, but not too many.
Avatar f tn I gained all my weight I'm my first n half of my second trimester (almost 30 lbs) now I'm losing weight. My first pregnancy was the same. Were all different.
1519805 tn?1291058650 I'm 18 yrs old & I've always been a chubby chick but my weight is increasing ridicioulsly. 8793709 tn?1409594060 is it true that the more you gain during your (first) pregnancy, the less likely you are to get back to your slim, pre-pregnancy figure? and is it true that if you don't shed your excess weight within a certain time after baby's born (like 3 months, or 6 months), you'll eventually find it harder and harder to get back into shape at all? this is what I've heard. any thoughts and experiences ladies?
Avatar f tn I don't have a problem losing weight, I just have a problem with losing weight. Like I can't seem to gain any weight at all. Before I got pregnant I weighed 145, by the time I had him, in April 2013, I weighed 173. I breastfeed and two weeks after having him I was down to 155, then two weeks after that was down to 146. And now that I'm not breastfeeding, I'm still constantly losing weight. I can't seem to stop.
Avatar f tn But as you and I are about the same age, height and weight (previously was in the 170s), I thought maybe I could help you. Without a long history, I'll just cut to the chase and say if I eat too much fat, I can't lose weight regardless of what I do. I know the " low fat" diet isn't in vogue any longer, but I guess my body didn't get that memo. I try to stay around 15-20% of my calories per day from fat. Anything more than that and I get stalled.
Avatar f tn I am 56 yrs old and recently diagnosed with 6mm chiari found on mri after I had problems with stumbling several bad falls, weakness numb Arms difficulty walking. My legs feel like rubber sometimes. My internist said I have an extra heart beat but said chiari is common finding and none of these sx are bc of chiari . I have been researching this and i asked for referral for neurologist. I have to wait 2 mos.
Avatar f tn My daughter is 6 years old, on concerta for ADHD and is losing weight. She has been on medications for adhd for over a year now. She was born at 35 weeks by c-section, hospitalized several times before age 2 for respiratory conditions. She has a congenital dislocation of her elbows, significantly more pronounced on left side, for which she is being monitored by Shriners hospital. No other significant medical history.
