losartan benicar

I am taking Losartan, which is the generic of Cozaar. Like Benicar (which is not available in generic yet, I believe) it is an angiotensin II inhibitor. There are usually very few side effects associated with these drugs, but their action on the biochemistry of the body is complex, so anything is possible. I have Hashimoto's disease, which means I am HYPOthyroid. Before the Losartan, I was taking 90 mgs of Armour (which is T3 AND T4) daily.

I have being training for several running races for 5 months. Before going into a preparation for a half marathon training, I went to the cardiologist to do a check up, as I know my BP always was borderline to be considered high. I did Echo, Stress tests and 24h BP measurements. Echo and stress went all right, but BP was slightly high, my mean systolic pressure was 133 and mean diastolic was 83, with the maximum during the test being 148 an 100.

I recently had open heart surgery, 4 bypasses. I was on Benicar 20mg. a day before the surgery along with Zocor to control cholesterol. I am now on Plavix, Toprol XL, Zocor and Benicar. My blood pressure has been low, in the range of 90/60 since the surgery but the cardiologist wants me to continue the Benicar. He said it's "good for the heart". Has anyone ever heard of this before? My understanding was that Benicar is for high BP.

I started bp treatment at 21 eith Benicar, my insurance stopped covering Benicar and I switched to Lisinopril, I then started having erection problems. At this point my doctor switched me to HCTZ and took me off the lisinopril, the erectile problems improved for a few days and then went back to the same I have NO MORNING ERECTIONS.

I'm on Benicar HCT, have been for many years. Benicar is in a group of drugs called angiotensin II receptor antagonists. Benicar keeps blood vessels from narrowing, which lowers blood pressure and improves blood flow. Benicar HCT has a diuretic included as well. I have been fortunate, Benicar has worked from the first day I took it and works well still today. My 90 day average BP is 108/67 down from 135/85 when I started. I have had no side effects as well, the best of both worlds!

Thought we finally found one that worked. The doctor gave me Benicar 20mg and it helped (so did losing 20 pounds) but my BP was still borderline. Then he increased the Benicar to 40 mg. I am having some strange issues that I think are from the Benicar. When I awake from sleeping I have trouble opening my left eyelid. Once I am up this goes away. Now all of a sudden I cannot put the milk gallon in the refrigerator without using two hands.

I'm on Toprol XL, Cardizem, Benicar along with Lasix for HTN. I have a BUN of 32 (up from 24 a month ago) with a creatinine of 1.2. Can it be medication related? I am not overweight nor do I overuse salt, but am concerned about kidney failture.

I've recently been having terrible anxiety and one of the changes in my life is that I've started taking Benicar 40mg for high blood pressure. I saw on a post somewhere that benicar can cause this. Has anyone else heard of this?

About a year ago I was put on high blood pressure medication, Benicar 20mg a day. I have never had any types of heart issue and in the last year have developed or started to notice regular PVC's. I have had them checked out and they are PVC's and they drive me nuts because they make me feel real uncomfortable. Could the PVC's be caused by the benicar?

Dear Doctor, I am a healthy 36 year old male. In the last year I was put on Benicar 20 mg for high blood pressure. In that year I have began to notice PVC's that started occassionally and now are happening everyday all day. They drive me crazy. My blood pressure is under control and I exercise regularly. Could the Benicar cause the PVC's? I have had them checked out with my doctor and they tell me that they are okay and that they are PVC's. They drive insane.

His averaged blood pressure is 146/80. He was placed on losartan potassium (50 mg) for 8 days but there is no change to his averaged blood pressure. I would wonder if the sound issue is not related to a bit of anxiety. I'm not really seeing anything in the literature to support what you describe with retards to sound being louder but sensory experiences can be affected whenever our nervous system is not regulated.

My GP put me on Lisinopril last year but switched me to Losartan after the Lisinopril failed to help. The Losartan brought my BP down a lot with a 50 mg daily dose. I was down to 110/70 and even 100/65 at times. I even got light-headed when I stood up quickly. The GP said this was normal and good. He likes my BP to be well below 120/80. So far so good. I was getting the Losartan from Walgreens as a 30 day supply.

My dr put me on Benicar 20mg and Toprol XL 25mg to lower my blood pressure. I have a fast pulse too (always over 100). Will these meds lower my pulse also?

I was on losartan for a few months. I don't think that my bp was consistenlty high. I think what was going on was that it was very up and down and it was making me feel pretty bad. But losartan which is a third line for bp was the first thing that they put me on. And I don't think my bp was that bad. I have had elevated renin/aldosterone studies and low potassium in the past.

Has anyone heard about a study with Losartan, a BP drug, on people with HCV, with moderate Fibrosis? Its suppose to shrink them, so the liver can heal. I was wondering how I could get on a study like that? I'm Type1a, a non-responder.

I have been on Losartan for approximately eight months come here recently I have found it very difficult to swallow my food and seems like he gets caught in my esophagus, yesterday at two different Meals I began to choke on my food I had to drink several glasses of water in order to get my food to go down with no issues. Could this be a side effect of Losartan?

Just curious, I was started on Benicar HCT 40/12.5 about 3 or 4 years ago at a time when I was at my peak weight, well over 300 pounds, not taking very good care of myself and not exercising. My blood pressure was running around 140/85 at the time. I underwent some cardiac work ups due to some chest pain over that time period including a couple of Nuclear Stress Tests and Echos along with all the blood work that is usually done, all tests were always normal.

I am currently on Lisinopril to keep my BP down (I have Cardiomyopathy after going into CHF from a virus that went to my heart). I have had a cough which is a side effect of Lisinopril. My doctor just gave me a RX for Losartan but this med is more expensive by quite a bit. I haven't had any other problems with Lisinopril besides the cough and I am scared to change meds and take the chance of worse side effects.

People often take sleeping meds and anti depressants that have hcv or are treating. I don't know a lot about the lisinoprill, but I read about a small study that Losartan (for high blood pressure) may reverse fibrosis. The chest pain has returned and the diastolic pressure is 53.I am currently on benicar hct 40/25 and my bp has been 126/53. Should I stop taking the benicar? Not sure what to make of the chest pain.I am a 48 yr. old female other wise in good health.

I believe I used this function years ago and got a list of doctors. My doctor who I have now uses Benicar, however does not follow all aspects of the protocol. She says the Benicar helps the antibiotics work better which I guess is the theory behind the Marshall Protocol. You can also try to google "marshall protocol doctors" and see what comes up.
