I believe you are not that predisposed to have cough when you take amlodipine because unlike losartan, it does not predisposed you to have infections that causes cough. Nevertheless, before switching medications you have to consult with your physician first.

They started me on losartan 50 mg and amlodipine 5mg. And for some reason it seams like it is not going down, so I went to the ER and they increased my amlodipine to 10mg and adv me to contact my primary dr that following week. Called the dr that next week and he increased my losartan to 100 mg and amlodipine to 10 mg, 1 each per day. However it seems like my bp is still hanging out around the upper 180's.

I had been taking Amlodipine for a few weeks and BP rose. Doctor has increased to 5 mg. Not sure how long it will take to reduce BP. Has anyone any experience with Amlodipine? How is it? Any adverse side effects?

5 mg of Metoprolol and 10 mg Amlodipine for about 3 months. I have COPD and something was aggravating my breathing problems. I went to the doctor yesterday and he took me off the Metoprolol and put me on 100 mg of Losartan. He told me to just stop taking the Metoprolol. I questioned starting off with such a high dose of Losartan. I seem to be very sensitive to these medications and felt starting right off with 100 mg was a bit high.

30 i ate breakfast and today i only took 1/2 an Ativan instead of a whole one my Losartan, my Amlodipine, my Metformin and my vitamin d3 ski far no reaction today.

So I was put on amlodipine 10mg and Propranolol 40mg on 1st July 2016. This helped lower my blood pressure to around 115/68. Only problem is that it makes me feel quite tired after little activity like walking. After complaining about this tiredness to the doctor yesterday, he changed my drugs to 100mg Losartan (1 tablet per day) and 25mg Atenolol (2 tablets per day).

My new VA doctor wants to change one of my blood pressure medications from 160 mg of Valsartan 2 times per day to an equivalent dose of 100 mg of Losartan but only once per day. (stopped working), now just Amlodipine 10 mg. Since taking the Amlodipine 10 mg. for about a week, my blood pressure keeps going higher and higher. Today readings were between 160/90 - 165/125. Also, my lower legs are sore, I have dizziness and feel light-headed, and are extremely lethargic. Is there any light at the end of the tunnel? then he gave me sorbitrate tab and one losartan tab of bp and also took my blood sample in which the SGOT level was 22 and blood sugar was 118 random he kept me under observation. Their my pain was reduced but was having head heviness,my ECO was also done which doctor said was normal.

You could also try various calcium channel blockers such as Amlodipine (norvasc). Make sure to quit smoking and take care of your cholesterol. Start with a heathy diet and exercise and if that doesn't work start taking a statin.

Is there a counter active process of which my losartan (50mg) and amlodipine (10mg) are working against the natural supplements? I have stopped my meds and taken only bp supplements but bp is still elevated. I do take on a daily basis D3,zinc,quercetin,a multi vitamin, turmeric,a small drop of iodine, nitric oxide several times a week before a work out and a probiotic digestive pill. I Do feel good during the day of working and working out and i sleep fairly well for my age.

Clonidine, Glimepiride, Byetta, Metformin, Amlodipine, Crestor, and Losartan HCT. Is it possible that it could be these meds? Please help!! I'm working by tail off and still have a GUT. Thank you in advance.

It should work. Mayo Clinic was involved in some of that testing and they used Diovan. the angiotensin drugs all work the same on fibrosis.

I am currently taking losartan 100mg/hctz, I went to the doc today and my Bp was 170/80 very high systolic not sure why? I was somewhat anxious but I'm on meds just 22 years old so I understand your situation. I am heading tomorrow for another heart echo (had one in feb but by a different doc) hoping for good results.
