Loestrin and perimenopause

Common Questions and Answers about Loestrin and perimenopause

loestrin

Avatar f tn per bloodwork, I am only in perimenopause and am on day 5 of Lo Loestrin. Has anyone had success feeling better on this bcp and did it take a couple of cycles to really notice. I get these periodic heart palps and adrenaline rushes throughout the day. I'm still taking flaxseed oil and evening primrose to help control, but am really hoping the Lo Loestrin makes a difference. Has anyone done well taking bcp for their peri symptoms?
Avatar f tn I liked it better then Loestrin, since while on Loestrin I had breakthrough bleeding every single day. (So annoying.) But even with Femcon, I had breakthrough during the third week, but I was reading that a lot of women get breakthrough bleeding during the first couple of months.
Avatar m tn I am two weeks into my first pack of Lo Loestrin and I had unprotected sex about 5 weeks ago. I had awful cramps and some bleeding today but it stopped. Is this normal?
Avatar f tn I started Lo Loestrin Fe oral birth control pill on January 14, 2014 after being off of it since Thanksgiving of 2013. Previously I had constant break-though bleeding (more like a period- for even 2 and a half weeks) and cramps. I switched to Microgestin and that made me so sick I stopped, and then restarted Lo Loestrin Fe. I have taken it everyday and have never missed a pill.
Avatar n tn Help - has anyone had a rash with Loestrin - I have been itching and have rash on stomache chest and back. I also experienced terrible depression that put me in a zombie state. I only used this drug for one week and my doctor took me off. Did anyone experience these symptoms???
Avatar f tn Two years ago my hormones were tested and i was going into perimenopause and my doctor added estradial. Now my testastrone is low. My Gyno has given me the option of just cyst removal all the way up to a total hysterectomy. Im so frustrated and tired of feeling bad. I feel awful most of the time and its not only taxing to me but my family. Heres my questions; Is a hysterectomy the right choice in the long run? I dont want to end up in surgery again if i could.
Avatar n tn I am on Loestrin 24 and had the same issue. I also have cramps the week before, during, and after my period. I have cramps for like three weeks out of the month. They seem to be getting worse too. And I am crazy emotional. Do you have any other side effects?

Avatar m tn I was taking Loestrin Fe and had alot of spotting the first month (not necessarily while having sex). I also had more spotting in the third month. I told my doctor & she said that the hormones were too low for me. I would let your doctor know and see if there might be a better one out there for you.
Avatar f tn I switched from Loestrin to Ortho because I started not having periods AT ALL on the Loestrin and I had CRAZY PREGNANCY SYMPTOMS. I got a blood test but it was negative. Now I am on Ortho and am a little nervous because I've heard and read that some people have gotten pregnant on this pill. Any advice????
Avatar f tn You mean morning sickness, right? Yes, I am 51, perimenopausal, and have had this for just about a year. Somedays, it lasts all day.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with premature ovarian failure in 1998 at 29 with an FSH of 165 and estrogen less than 10. I used loestrin as HRT for about 8 years and then started having much trouble tolerating it, I couldn't get through 1/2 a pack without extreme bloating, fatigue and breast pain.
Avatar n tn Hi! Loestrin is a very low dose pill, and sometimes after you have been on it for awhile, the lining of the uterus gets very thin and bleeding becomes irregular. OR this could be a one time only thing, especially if you missed a pill or took one late. I would tell my patient to wait and see and if it happens regularly, you may need to swtich pills for awhile. Good Luck!
Avatar f tn did explain to us that they can only get what they can see. Dr. started her on Loestrin 24 and said hopefully in a few months the pain will get better. If not, we are looking at Lupron shots.
Avatar n tn ) and if you took the test to early you could get a false neg. in fact a lot of women have that happen. I've had that happen. If you still don't get it in a couple days I would test again or get a blood test done.
Avatar f tn I've personally never heard of breakthrough bleeding meaning that you aren't protected... You are probably thinking that because sometimes breakthrough bleeding is caused by missing pills or not taking them on time. I used to have really bad breakthrough bleeding issues before my laparoscopy to remove endometriosis, and it would happen with every pill, but I remember I had a lot of it when I was on loestrin for some reason.
Avatar f tn I have been on Loestrin for nearly a year now. I take it continuously so I do not get a period. This has stopped the endo pain. I'm hoping that it is also preserving my fertility until we are ready to try again. I do like Loestrin. I have had major depression and I feel fine on L. Sorry though no experience with Yaz. I think L is worth a try. It's different for everyone so you will only know by trying.
17501880 tn?1457282730 12pm on Saturday March 5th my boyfriend and I experienced a broken condom. I have been taking Lo Loestrin for about a month now and am on my second row on my second package. I have been researching since, that I should be able to take 2 Lo Loestrin pills and that they work as an emergency contraceptive. Can someone please confirm with me on whether or not I can.
Avatar n tn Oh and I was mistaken I'm on lo Loestrin fe
Avatar f tn I was actually on lo loestrin 24 when I conceived.. i did miss a pill here and there however they said i was still protected i have always been extremely fertile but you should have nothing to worry about!
Avatar m tn Hello. I am a 16 year old girl, and I just recently started taking the lo loestrin fe birth control pill, but not for sex. I started taking it because I have had athletic induced secondary ammenhorea (loss of my period) due to when I started running and eating healthy. I currently run cross country and track, working out hard almost every day of the week. I am taking this birth control in hope of regulating my period back again.
Avatar f tn s it declines more rapidly until it ceases. During perimenopause our hormone levels (Estrogen, Progesterone, and Testosterone) decrease, and ovulation slowly begins to come to an end... If you're interested in becoming pregnant, my advice would be to start keeping track of your ovulation and menstrual cycles now. Also consult your Ob/Gyn if you have any concerns. The healthier and better shape you're in will definitely influence any possible pregnancy and transition into menopause...
