Avatar m tn I think depression is a sign saying we need to change something in our life, for me it was my health, so I take tons of different vitamins for mood stabilization and depression, and a long hard workout for sleep(and they work).
21064 tn?1309312333 2) Xanax 1mg 2x/day in addition to .5mg as needed for anxiety. 3) Lexapro 5mg 1x/day for anxiety and depression. However, the depression remains. 4) Prevacid 30mg 1x/day for acid reflux and gastritis. The Atenolol works wonders on my PVC's and tachycardia, but it makes me so tired. The Xanax doesn't really help anymore because I've built up a tolerance. The Lexapro has helped to reduce my PVC's and palpitations, but I think it's giving me high blood pressure.
4810971 tn?1359480360 My mother has depression, OCD, and social anxiety disorder, and lately it is getting worse. I am 15, and I have Bipolar disorder and OCD, so I get depressed a lot, too, but nothing like this. At night, she will sit on the couch with her head in her hands, and will stare at nothing for hours, no matter how much we try and talk to her, and we eventually give up. This happens every night, no matter what.
Avatar m tn Environment can also play an enormous part in the management of a disorder.. ADHD coupled with depression and/or anxiety can become a vicious cycle if it goes untreated. It's not uncommon, from what I've learned, for some patients to go through a variety of stimulants, non-stim's, and antidepressants before they find one that actually works for them. It can be so frustrating to go through the trial and error phase of finding the right meds.
Avatar f tn I spent three years inside when agorophobia had me by the throat. I've been in, around and through all of the symptoms of major depression, and at my age, I know I have this to look forward to for the rest of my life. Unless a discovery is made, and that might depend on all of us comparing notes. If this is just too weird, I do understand. And you may, like I do, get tired very easily. I'm tired now.
980510 tn?1282014546 It is Important because we are living with pain everyday and taking strong pain medications some of the medications we take can cause depression, talking is important as well.........
Avatar f tn There are a variety of kinds of bipolar and with some the depressive aspects are more evident. Lamictal and Abilify are generally a good combination of medications so they should be working. I'm not sure whether the anxiety is anxiety disorder or caused by the medication. I know some medications can cause nervousness or phobia on occassion. Abilify and Zyprexa did that to me but that's not that common but within the realm of possibilities.

Avatar n tn The other problem is depression very often is accompanied by or caused by anxiety, and substances that help depression can be stimulating and thus aggravate anxiety. Still, it's worth trying if one can afford it and can find a professional who has experience with this. A good book to read on what's available is Natural Highs by Hyla Cass, a psychiatrist at UCLA.
Avatar m tn It's really difficult, but one of the things those of us with depression and anxiety must have is patience. You don't say what your doctor had put you on, but there are meds out there that will control the constant, daily anxiety which is known as "anticipatory anxiety.
Avatar m tn That’s great news for anxiety sufferers, many of whom rely on medications that have a lengthy list of side-effects. The most common drugs used for anxiety include: Xanax, Valium, Atavan, and Klonopin.
Avatar f tn Your anxiety sounds kind of like mine. Are you an everyday worrier? Totally over analyze everything? Does your stomach stay in a constant "knot" alot? Like bad butterflies in your stomach? That's my main symptom.. and it *****. The thing with benzos like lorazapam , is that they are addictive. I have lorazapam too! And am JUST LIKE YOU it sounds like. I only take it when I REALLY need one... and I usually just take one before bed if I have too..
411389 tn?1230128077 I was given Lexapro for my anxiety/depression and it saved me. really. I would just sit in the corner of my room crying because I had a fear of germs and if I left my one safe spot I would jsut freak out that the germs were going to kill me (not instantly of course, you know, infect me or something) The only thing I noticed was I was really really tired for the first couple of weeks I was on it, but it went away.
Avatar f tn You may be afaid to but will feel so much better if you do. Can you go to your psyc dr and take a list of EVERY drug you take, legal or otherwise and ask for some help? Each Rx has so many interactions and side effects. I hope you'll talk to your doc and keep coming back here and let us know how you're doing. Lots of love support and help here. Although we are all VERY diff, we are ALL very the same too. You'll surely hear from someone that you can relate to.
Avatar f tn I read in where this helps in losing weight and increasing the metabolism. I do this four hours later from my medications, etc. I will go and look at the weight loss and dieting forum as well.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with anxiety/depression, OCD and possible mixed phase mania/bipolar. I've had all the typical anxiety symptoms, but more than anything I've had a growing sense of daytime sleepiness, disconnectedness from reality and my body, and weird occurrences relating to sleep. It's like a woozy dizzy feeling that comes with a lot of brain fog. On top of that, I've recently been having times when I feel high or almost as if I'm having an orgasm, that sort of toe curling euphoria.
Avatar n tn I told him about my situation and he thought i should try a few anxiety medications. i didnt want to use any meds but i'm starting to rethink that.. Thanks for listening..
1392211 tn?1286333242 They are the best to deal with anxiety and depression and know the medications well. Don't fool around with GP's with this and go to those trained to deal with it. They may also recommend Therapy to help you thru this tough time.
Avatar f tn Lamictal is an odd choice of med if you're treating just depression and an anxiety disorder. Lamictal is typically prescribed for people with bi-polar disorder, which is a COMPLETELY different animal. Besides the Celexa and Lamictal, what other meds have you tried? Are you in therapy? It's hard to say if the itching is just a side effect or if it's related to an adverse reaction. Most allergic reactions would present with a rash.

Like a vicious cycle one will feed off of the other. Have you gotten any counseling? If not hon I would highly reccommend you do. This disorder can be so painful mentally and lead to more mental issues.
Avatar m tn Evaluate your life. See what stressers are present and try to take care of them. Consider making a list as far back as 1 year. There may be something you need to deal with in order to move on, and get rid of the pain.
1515545 tn?1291399364 because it's getting out of control, its weird but it feels like the start of a seizure and the anxiety sets in and it feels weird in my brain ( literally) that's the only way I can explain it, I wish it would stop, and I would be like I was before..
Avatar n tn Worry about health and money and paying bills are a big mainstay of causes of my anxiety. maybe I'm just speaking on behalf of myself. Try getting a strong dose of Valium....when you feel an attack coming, take it, it works for me hopefully you guys as well. and its HIGHLY less physically addicting....and its only 1 pill to deal with. let me know what you guys think about this?
Avatar f tn In my case, much of the problem was hormonal but depression seems to run in the family (never spoken of openly of course). The depression and anxiety kicked in at puberty. My family was typical of most back then I think: you didn't see a therapist unless you really were "crazy". To even make an appointment was an admission of weakness or a character flaw. It's so sad that the same attitude persists today. Anyway, what finally drove me to my doctor was the death of my dog.
Avatar n tn Have had multiple tests all normal with the final diagnosis of anxiety. I attempted to go on an anti-anxiety medication and tried for 2 days. I was so out of it, aggitated and total loss of control. The side effects could last up to 2 wks and I wasn't willing to try another day. I have Ativan only as needed and I am so afraid to become addicted to it, I think I have used it 3 times total. I am talking with a counselor and find that talking with a close friend or family member helps.
Avatar m tn I am convinced they are all related somehow and wonder if the thyroid is the main issue? I want help and am willing to do it but this fatigue and depression has me whipped to the point of no return to try?
