Avatar m tn s and my blood pressure is slowly starting to rise, so I am currently on Lisinopril for the hypertension. Doctors say that I am one of the "lucky" ones because my case is considered mild and it is not aggressive.
Avatar m tn The normal range for BUN (at my hospital) is 8.0 - 24.0. Sounds like yours borderline high on the normal range. Avatar n tn 3 for the past 5 years. It was 1.1-1.2 for the first 5 years. Sometimes I wonder if I really have anything at all. I know excessive protein in the urine is not normal, but are there other diseases that cause proteinuria? I am 35 years old so I was diagnosed shortly after my 2nd child was born 10 years ago and have had other health problems that are only found through MRI scans. Wouldn't know I had anything wrong if it weren't for the scans.
Avatar n tn 20 mg in 7 am , and 20 mg Lisinopril in 7 pm (so total = 40 mg Lisinopril per day). During the day (systolic) hypertension goes 150-160 mmHg and only in 2-4pm it is 130 mmHg (and at 10-12 pm). What should be done for this patient. Maybe trying a diuretic (hydrochlorthiazid) and lowering the dose of Lisinopril? Please tell what do you think of the doses to start trying, how often and when during the day? (P.S.
Avatar m tn I have very high proteinuria, and from what I understand this causes serum albumin levels to decrease. Right now my level of proteinuria is around 3 to 4 grams a day, and my serum albumin is slightly high at around 5.3 g/dL. Typically how high can my proteinuria get before I see a noticeable drop in serum albumin? If you are wondering, I do not have dehydration. I drink over 3 liters of water a day.
Avatar f tn As long as one of the barriers is impaired or damaged, protein will leak into urine and thus form proteinuria. For people with Nephrotic Syndrome, large amounts of protein spill and into urine just because of damaged glomerular filtration membrane. Without effective charge barrier and mechanical barrier, glomerular filtration membrane can not stop protein passing through.

Avatar n tn You may have proteinuria. It just means that some of the proteins you've ingested are being pushed out of your body as waste. Avatar m tn I am a professional violinist and recently developed an essential tremor in my bow arm which interferes greatly with my playing. My neurologist tried primidone but it has helped only a little. I asked if he could put me on Inderal which I understand can help with essential tremor. However -- the doctor pointed out that I am already on lisinopril (for hypertension) which, he claimed, ALSO is effective in treating essential tremor.

My GP consulted a nephrologist and was told to monitor bloodwork, urine and BP every 4 months for a year, then every 6 months and then yearly afterwards. Most recently, when I had my tests done and my eGFR is now 84, creatinine (urine) = 26.8 and ACR = 59.7.

Avatar n tn My husband sweats a lot when exercising and playing golf. He takes Lisinopril and he has had several episodes of lightheadedness, nausea and vomiting, and low BP while playing golf. Are there other classes of anti-hypertensives that don't result in hypotension DT excessive sweating? He's also had 7 kidney stones in the last 5 months. Could Lisinopril and his excessive sweating be a contributing factor?
