Avatar f tn Looking for good new...found out I am pregnant and am taking Lisinopril 10mg. Does anyone have any experience with this?
Avatar n tn 20 mg in 7 am , and 20 mg Lisinopril in 7 pm (so total = 40 mg Lisinopril per day). During the day (systolic) hypertension goes 150-160 mmHg and only in 2-4pm it is 130 mmHg (and at 10-12 pm). What should be done for this patient. Maybe trying a diuretic (hydrochlorthiazid) and lowering the dose of Lisinopril? Please tell what do you think of the doses to start trying, how often and when during the day? (P.S.
Avatar n tn I have heard that Lisinopril can cause folks to have headaches until they become accoustomed to it, but not what you're dealing with. Which could be a very real side effect of this med...........just because I've never heard of it, doesn't mean others haven't. My best advice and probably what you will hear on this forum, is to get back with your doctor and tell him/her what is happening. It may not be the med for you!
1221269 tn?1267588769 I recently began to have extreme trouble with dizziness (about 3 months ago) and was told I had high blood pressure. They put me on Lisinopril. I ended up in the hospital a month later (Christmas Day) with chest pains. They then told me they thought the Lisinopril was to blame. They took me off Lisinopril and put me on Atenolol. The Atenolol (over the course of a couple of weeks) lowered my pulse rate too much and started causing my heart rate to become irregular.
Avatar m tn I am a professional violinist and recently developed an essential tremor in my bow arm which interferes greatly with my playing. My neurologist tried primidone but it has helped only a little. I asked if he could put me on Inderal which I understand can help with essential tremor. However -- the doctor pointed out that I am already on lisinopril (for hypertension) which, he claimed, ALSO is effective in treating essential tremor.
415098 tn?1214856836 my blood pressure was super high for my age so they put me on 20mg of lisinopril,i have been on it for a week and i dont feel better at all if anything i feel worse, does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong thanks
Avatar f tn So Doctor told me to take only 20mg of lisinopril every day. I did. Then, even more serious headaches, dizziness, and feeling like fainting, and high blood pressure. So Doctor then prescribed Atenolol 25mg per day. One week of trial. Even higher blood pressure around 170/110. So Doctor then advised that I should take both Lisinopril 30mg in the morning, and Atenolol 25mg at night.
Avatar m tn I have been taking 40 mg lisinopril for 3 months. It works on my BP but I am coughing and my nose is running.
1348086 tn?1370783185 I have been on Lisinopril for about 3 years now. My BP has been at around 120-130 over 80-90 while on it. A few weeks ago I started getting a ringing in my left ear. About a week ago I started waking up with nose bleeds. Well, I thought that was due to allergies. I have nose bleeds a lot and have since I was a little one. Well, I have a lot of stress at work and I would get headaches by the end of the day.

1580703 tn?1651904887 with my recent 4 week infection I've been getting headaches and trouble thinking; the tightness is at the temples or back. I still don't know why I am wheezing after 3 courses of antibiotics?? I have blood mucus coming out of my nose but no cough do these asthma headaches and wheezing cut off oxygen or blood flow to your body?
Avatar n tn I also have had frequent headaches, fatigue, and some chest discomfort (heaviness, not acute pain). Nevertheless, no a-fib. I realize both medications are intended to lower blood pressure in addition to controlling the rhythm. I have normal heart structure and no history of heart attack. My blood pressure was 120s/60s on sotalol and Benicar. Is this opposite effect (higher instead of lower blood pressure) common with this medication? Thank you.
Avatar n tn My husband sweats a lot when exercising and playing golf. He takes Lisinopril and he has had several episodes of lightheadedness, nausea and vomiting, and low BP while playing golf. Are there other classes of anti-hypertensives that don't result in hypotension DT excessive sweating? He's also had 7 kidney stones in the last 5 months. Could Lisinopril and his excessive sweating be a contributing factor?
Avatar m tn After questioning why I had high blood pressure and not getting any answers I asked to see another doc and he added Lisinopril 10mg and said come back in 6 months. Since then BP has been steady at 130's/40's. After bugging the doc enough about why at 32 i have to take 3 meds to keep BP under control he has finally set me up to see a kidney specialist.
Avatar f tn Lisinopril is an ACE inhibitor and the mechanism of the agent is to dilate vessels to reduce hypertension. Metoprolol is in a group of drugs called beta-blockers. Beta-blockers affect the heart and circulation (blood flow through arteries and veins). Metoprolol is used to treat angina and hypertension for high blood pressure. It is also used to treat or prevent heart attack. My regimen is Lisinopril and coreg (beta blocker).
Avatar n tn I first noticed early beats shortly after my Lisinopril dose was increeased to 20mg from 10mg, I take for mild high blood pressure. I informed my doctor about this coorelation but he dismissed it. If my research is correct, Lisinopril can take about 7 hours to begin to work in the body and reaches it's peak potency after about 12 hours.
Avatar n tn I recently was diagnosed with the above along with arryhmia and aortic and mitral valve insufficienc. I have low pressure normally so my doctor prescribed 2.5mg of lisinopril. After taking it for 5 nights I've started to experience dizziness when I get up during the night. I also wake up with a dry cough. Tuesday my blood pressure was 86/53. Is there any other treatment for this "mild" case of cardiomyopthy other than blood pressure lowering medicine?
Avatar n tn 20%) had 12% lower risk of death or hospitalization for any reason, if placed on a high dose of ACE inhibitor like Lisinopril compared to a low dose. I would suggest that you comply with your doctor’s prescription as high doses of lisinopril significantly reduces mortality in CHF patients. I hope that helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted.
Avatar m tn MY bp off the Lisinopril is 145/85 and I see a cardiologist for the first time on Wednesday is it safe for me not to take the Lisinopril till then? MY kidneys are also fine and my Liver. Why would Lisinopril cause the Tach and then sudden increase. Asked a Pharmacist and he said that it is a downplayed side effect of Ace Inhibitors that it does happen. My Blood Pressure has been around normal all day the highest is 135/80 when I eat and my pulse is around 90-100 now 3rd day off of Lisinopril.
Avatar m tn Hi, thank you for using the forum. I will do my best to answer your question based on the information that you have given me. I am going to assume that you had a cardiac work up by you primary care physician and that everything came out negative since none of the diagnosis that you received were cardiac in nature. However, if you feel you did not receive a complete physical exam and evaluation then a second opinion would be reasonable.
Avatar m tn I went to my PCP and he said it was not likely lisinopril so he gave me flexeril for the muscle aches. He also raised my lisinopril to 10mg even though the 5mg had been doing the job as my BP had gone down from 139/89~ to 131/84. Now that I am taking 10mg lisinopril It feels like I have the Flu (aches, pains, chills) ,and my throat gets really sore.
