Avatar f tn I just returned from my first appt w/ my new Dr. She says that I should be on lisinopril "to protect my kidneys". I have had diabetes for 35 years and never had a test come back indicating that I am "spilling protiens". My BP is 104/70 A1c is about 7.3.Very good health, no heart problems etc. Is this just a standard/ routine prescription for diabetics now...like aspirin?
Avatar n tn I pretty much have the same thing. Do you have diabetes or high blood pressure? I was on Lisinopril and i ended up in the ER for the blood pressure medicine. It's called Paresthesia. They put me on something new. I feel a lot better but now I wonder if it's something else. It keeps me from sleeping and it wakes me up. Before when I was on Lisinopril sometimes it would fire in the same spot multiple times and i had problems walking. It has not been that bad since.
Avatar f tn Try posting on the "Ask a Doctor Forums" - Diabetes - Adult Type II . You seem to have many choices but first ask Dr Ramsetty for her opinion.
Avatar n tn Thanks so much for the update info about taking high blood pressure meds as a preventative aid for diabetes' ..we were very enlightened & more trusting with our Dr.
Avatar m tn I wish you much luck with all of your testing. At least your doctor is on the ball and getting the testing done quickly. Have you had diabetes before? If not, after things stabilize from the testing, it might be helpful for you to enroll in a diabetes class to learn more about living with it, making meals, foot care, eye care, etc. Your doctor may have to refer you depending on where you live, but it is worth it and most find it fun and interesting.
Avatar m tn They took me off Lisinopril I had it real bad at the time then. I would get it all over my body. Sometimes it would fire like two or three times in the same spot. Like I said I get it all over my body. Legs, back, arms, shoulders, neck, butt. It would be fine then at once it will hit then like maybe 60 minutes to a day later it will just all of a sudden clear up as fast as it came until next time. It has been a lot better since I have been off the Lisinopril.
Avatar n tn 20 mg in 7 am , and 20 mg Lisinopril in 7 pm (so total = 40 mg Lisinopril per day). During the day (systolic) hypertension goes 150-160 mmHg and only in 2-4pm it is 130 mmHg (and at 10-12 pm). What should be done for this patient. Maybe trying a diuretic (hydrochlorthiazid) and lowering the dose of Lisinopril? Please tell what do you think of the doses to start trying, how often and when during the day? (P.S.
Avatar n tn I have had type 1 Diabetes for 21 years. For the last five years I've had excellent control. I've had two healthy babies and an A1C of 5.0-6.5. Unfortunately I've had more years out of control than in control. Today my lab results showed protien in my urine. I am not taking this well, even though I knew it was inevitible because of my history. My Doctor has perscribed Lisinopril after I have my third child.
Avatar m tn I am a professional violinist and recently developed an essential tremor in my bow arm which interferes greatly with my playing. My neurologist tried primidone but it has helped only a little. I asked if he could put me on Inderal which I understand can help with essential tremor. However -- the doctor pointed out that I am already on lisinopril (for hypertension) which, he claimed, ALSO is effective in treating essential tremor.
Avatar m tn I have been taking 40 mg lisinopril for 3 months. It works on my BP but I am coughing and my nose is running.

Avatar f tn I'm 76 years old was diagnosed with CHF in February of 2009. I am being treated by a good cardiologist. My ejection rate is 34% and I hope increasing all the time. It was 20% in February at my initial diagnosis. I'm taking carvedilol, lisinopril, digoxin, medication for my cholesterol and diabetes 2 and also aspirin and cod liver oil . I would like to continue with my exercise program and don't know if it's allowed. It's not hard, just walking.
193953 tn?1272075026 If it is not neuropathy, have you been checked for diabetes? The neuropathy may be caused by exposure to several industrial chemicals (benzenes, and such).
Avatar n tn Does this mean I have Polycystic kidney disease, or does it just mean I have benign cysts? I take Lisinopril 5 mg daily. My doctors say that the kidneys don't hurt, but I have constant pain. Is this unusual?
Avatar m tn t prescribe medication to bring down blood pressure until the systolic reaches 140 or the diastolic reaches 90. The exception is for people with diabetes or impaired kidney function, and medication for anything above 130/80. That's because people with diabetes and kidney disease are already at higher risk for heart attack and stroke.
Avatar m tn I have since become very wary of any med ending in -lol. I highly recommend that you get tested for diabetes. Your craving for sugar is one signal; eating a large meal followed by dizziness is another. In my research to learn more about diabetes, the one thing I have learned is that symptoms vary so widely as to be impossible to form an exact profile of a typical diabetic. I'm not familiar with the initials you use: HR.
Avatar n tn Got a doc appt.in Oct & will see what he has to say.MagnaRx & or Enzyte works great for electrifying sex but still need Viagra to get things started. Many times things naturally rise at 5 am & reset but not for long.Have to be thankful for whatever.

225237 tn?1333138999 I take sertraline for anxiety. It works wonders where I no longer feel severely anxious for no reason all the time, but when I get in a situation that warrants anxiety, I think I get more anxious than someone without constant anxiety would.
Avatar n tn My husband sweats a lot when exercising and playing golf. He takes Lisinopril and he has had several episodes of lightheadedness, nausea and vomiting, and low BP while playing golf. Are there other classes of anti-hypertensives that don't result in hypotension DT excessive sweating? He's also had 7 kidney stones in the last 5 months. Could Lisinopril and his excessive sweating be a contributing factor?
Avatar f tn Looking for good new...found out I am pregnant and am taking Lisinopril 10mg. Does anyone have any experience with this?
Avatar f tn In addition he was also given medication for Diabetes Type II, metformin 850 mg, glipizide 5mg, lisinopril 5 mg, simvastatin 20mg, Asprin 81 mg, Ranitidine 150 mg. Additionally he was also prescribed Naproxen 500mg and Alumina Magnesia 360 ml. I think this is too much medication. Any suggestions? The pain meds are for arthritic hip and knee and rotator cuff surgery.
Avatar f tn Lisinopril is an ACE inhibitor and the mechanism of the agent is to dilate vessels to reduce hypertension. Metoprolol is in a group of drugs called beta-blockers. Beta-blockers affect the heart and circulation (blood flow through arteries and veins). Metoprolol is used to treat angina and hypertension for high blood pressure. It is also used to treat or prevent heart attack. My regimen is Lisinopril and coreg (beta blocker).
