I called my doctor and the nurse said i had the symptoms of axiety but also said to stop taking the Lisinopril. I have not taken that pill in 24 hrs. My question is could the Lisinopril have caused the palpitations and could it take some time to go away or should i look into axiety. It just seems odd that none of this was going on untill i took that Lisinopril.
About 3 years ago I was diagnosed with hyper-tension. My Dr. put me on Lisinopril. Late last year (2014), I developed a dry hacking cough. My Doctor & I concluded that it must've been the Lisinopril. Then, I was put on
Losartan. Within 2 1/2 months my muscles started to ache which led to problems sleeping. My legs ( calves & hamstrings) would get very tight & I would need to constantly stretch.
Has anybody using Losartan experienced these side effects??
Your doctor may be increasing based on the blood pressure response and consideration to side effects of lisinopril, the dosage may be increased or decreased. For most people, the normal daily dose is 20 mg to 40 mg. For each change in your lisinopril dosage, it may take several weeks to see the full effects on blood pressure.

t had any other problems with Lisinopril besides the cough and I am scared to change meds and take the chance of worse side effects. I am just wondering if anybody has any thoughts on Lisinopril vs Losartan to help me decide if I should change meds.

First doses of lisinopril can cause dizziness due to a drop in blood pressure. Lisinopril can cause nausea, headaches, anxiety, insomnia, drowsiness, nasal congestion and sexual dysfunction. Lisinopril should be stopped if there are symptoms or signs of an allergic reaction including feelings of swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat. Severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) and hives occasionally occur.
Look the drug up that she is taking on the web to see if cough is listed as a common side effect. Before you do this though, don't get overly concerned with all of the side effects you see related to a drug when you do search. All possible side effects observed when trials are done on drugs are listed even if they are not caused by the drug. Some blood pressure drugs do cause cough though in many people. The drug with the most likely side effect of cough as I understand it is lisinopril.

I am currently taking Lisinopril, 20mg. I take Lisinopril in a.m. without other drugs, vitamins. Within 2 hours and continues throughout the day, I am having overall weakness, cough, dizziness, legs feel like they are shaking inside, although not externally visible. B/P is sometimes 170 / 90 and other times 125 / 70 and anywhere in-between. Is there some other drug to control hypertension which does not have these side effects?
However, this could also be due to some medications such as the combination of lisinopril and hydrochlorothiazide that is used to treat high blood pressure. I have had a cough for quite a few years since I have taken Lisinopril, but lately it has gotten worse accompanied by pain in my side and under ribs. The doctor suspected inflammation of the ligaments and prescribed a non-steroid/pain reliever. After a week it has gotten worse, not better. I am constantly checking for blood in cough. Had a chest xray for work during the summer..they check for TB because I work with the school system.
After questioning why I had high blood pressure and not getting any answers I asked to see another doc and he added Lisinopril 10mg and said come back in 6 months. Since then BP has been steady at 130's/40's. After bugging the doc enough about why at 32 i have to take 3 meds to keep BP under control he has finally set me up to see a kidney specialist.
I have a friend who was taking lisinopril, and everytime he tried to do anything that required a bit of energy, such as walking through his house, his BP dropped to the point of taking him to his knees. He has since quit taking the lisinopril, but the effects most likely will be with him for the rest of his life.

I am a professional violinist and recently developed an essential tremor in my bow arm which interferes greatly with my playing. My neurologist tried primidone but it has helped only a little. I asked if he could put me on Inderal which I understand can help with essential tremor.
However -- the doctor pointed out that I am already on lisinopril (for hypertension) which, he claimed, ALSO is effective in treating essential tremor.
) -- he has been on coreg and lisinopril for 5 years with very few side effects -- his cardiomyopathy has resoved and his heart is "healthy" back to normal size and function. He decided to stop taking his coreg and lisinopril last week. He is weaning himself down. I think he is crazy for doing this -- especially without telling the doctor . s picked about 7 hours after taking Lisinopril and was really bad at about 12 hours after taking Lisinopril. I experienced about 3100 PVC's during this 24 hr holter report of which approximately 1600 of them came in this 5 hour period between the 7 hour and 12 hour mark post Lisinopril. I do have about 20-80 PVC's per hour during the rest of the day. any thoughts???
my daughter tried lisinopril snd she experienced coughing and her doctor switched her to losartan potassium and I was wondering if the two medicines are linked.
Soon after that I stopped the lisinopril on my own. I had tons of side effects from it. It was also lowering my heart rate into the 30s and 40s and dropping my BP to nearly nothing. My cardio told me that was ok but stay on the Coreg because it actually rebuilds the heart.
I was also very active and they told me that doing arobic exercise was the cause of many young seemingly healthy adults cardiomyopathy because the wall thicken due to something called LVH in short hypertrophy.
zestril (lisinopril ) has some pertty bad side effects too! - with chemical meds its a no win deal, with side effects - they all have them !!
It took me aprox 4 to 5 months to ween off the toprol xl -

put on the toprol xl ? or before ??
as I came down with depression and anxiety and pannic attacks ,after I was on the stuff
then was treated for it.. with other meds !
