Avatar m tn As far as I understand it, lisinopril (like all the ACE-I) may produce dry cough but normally no runny nose, also if you are taking it for 3 months and it is now when you have those problems, chances are that it is not lisinopril. Jesus.
Avatar f tn One known side effect of lisinopril is a dry nagging cough, however, I'm not sure about the itchy throat. You may want to call your pharmacist and ask them - they're typically very knowledgeable about all side effects of meds.
Avatar f tn I am currently on Lisinopril to keep my BP down (I have Cardiomyopathy after going into CHF from a virus that went to my heart). I have had a cough which is a side effect of Lisinopril. My doctor just gave me a RX for Losartan but this med is more expensive by quite a bit. I haven't had any other problems with Lisinopril besides the cough and I am scared to change meds and take the chance of worse side effects.
Avatar m tn well mine is due to environmental allergens caused by the aerial spraying of toxins ..my cough has been going on for 6 months now a dry cough that starts mostly at night, sore itchy eyes .headaches sometimes , scratchy thoat , fatigue You can ask for a heavy metals toxicity test ...
Avatar n tn You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fatigue, nausea, diarrhea, dry cough or blurred vision as your body adjusts to the medication. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly. I have three different reading glasses of progressive strength. Sometimes the lower strength is sufficient, and at other times the stronger is needed!! I never considered it a serious problem, just part of the aging process.
Avatar m tn About 3 years ago I was diagnosed with hyper-tension. My Dr. put me on Lisinopril. Late last year (2014), I developed a dry hacking cough. My Doctor & I concluded that it must've been the Lisinopril. Then, I was put on Losartan. Within 2 1/2 months my muscles started to ache which led to problems sleeping. My legs ( calves & hamstrings) would get very tight & I would need to constantly stretch. Has anybody using Losartan experienced these side effects??
Avatar f tn 5mg started yesterday, I was originally taking lisinopril 10mg and metoprolol 25mg. I was fine with lisinopril and metoprolol the only issue was when I get a cough it will last 2 to 3 months, I can't get any sleep at all do to dry cough. The doctor took me out of both medications for 30 days but my HBP would rise especially evening time. The Doctor is now having .
Avatar f tn However, if you only started to cough after starting the lisinopril, I would suspect it could be the drug. In which case, I would switch you to a "cousin" drug of lisinopril (one of many that fall under the class of drugs called ARBs---for angiotensin receptor blockers). If the cough is tolerable, you might want to wait until Friday to discuss with the cardiologist. All the best, Dr.

Avatar n tn I recently was diagnosed with the above along with arryhmia and aortic and mitral valve insufficienc. I have low pressure normally so my doctor prescribed 2.5mg of lisinopril. After taking it for 5 nights I've started to experience dizziness when I get up during the night. I also wake up with a dry cough. Tuesday my blood pressure was 86/53. Is there any other treatment for this "mild" case of cardiomyopthy other than blood pressure lowering medicine?
Avatar f tn That;s exactly what I was thinking. I am on Lisinopril and I have the tickle. It's not nearly as extreme as hers but it's as annoying as all get out. I've heard that a few blood pressure medications cause this. My boss has a persistant dry cough and she's on all kinds of meds. Could be one of them.
Avatar n tn He told my to stop taking Lisinopril-HCTZ and to call the hospitial today for a physcian. He also said that one of the side effect of Lisinopril-HCTZ is a dry cough. Once I arrived home I decided to took up the side effects of Lisinopril and found that it is not a water pill after all. I am wondering if Lisinopril-HCTZ can some how be contributed to my symptoms.
Avatar f tn It was the lisinopril that gave me those symptoms plus a bad tickle in the back of my throat that caused me to cough a lot! I finally got off the lisinopril and I felt Waaaayyy better! Good luck!
Avatar n tn He has a cough now everytime he lies down. The cough is dry and unproductive. Lately the cough at night causes him to feel like he is gagging or choking but when he sits up to cough he only gags and coughs and there is no sputum. Last night he said this happened six times. He is not nauseated but sometimes his stomach hurts.
Avatar m tn all due to an MI and stent in RCA. Dr took me off lisinopril due to dry cough about 6 weeks ago and upped coreg to 6.25 mg. cough resolved but I have been having early morning rapid heart beat (wakes me up) in recent weeks and my tinnitus has become much worse. My upper back pain which started while on drugs is also worse since the dosage went up.
Avatar f tn I was on Lisinopril for kidneys too but it made me cough too much so my doctor switched me to Hyzaar.
Avatar n tn I am not on anything at all presently.
645800 tn?1466860955 I dropped lisinopril for entirely unrelated side effects -- that nasty dry cough / throat tickle thing that woke me up every night.
Avatar f tn Generally Lisinopril is the drug that causes a cough. Losartan does not usually cause problems. Lisinopril sometimes agravates asthma because it seems to cause relaxation of the esophageal musculature, causing acid to flow upwards at night when you lie down, that in turn, migrates to the trachea. You should report the side effect on the FDA site.
Avatar m tn My wife is on that, and experienced a nagging dry cough for nearly a month after first starting it. Our physician urged her to push through it, and sure enough, it finally went away. I use the second line drug Metoprolol for my BP control, because of other factors.
Avatar n tn However, this could also be due to some medications such as the combination of lisinopril and hydrochlorothiazide that is used to treat high blood pressure. Lisinopril is in a group of drugs called angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) while Hydrochlorothiazide is in a class of diuretics. Tingling in the hands and feet along with dizziness, headache and cough are some of the effects that are observed in this drug combination.
Avatar n tn I've had some mild pain in my shoulder blades going up on both sides of my neck and my right ear always, every day for years has felt partially clogged. I also have a dull pain in the upper part of my left breast that has been there for about six months now. I've had a dry cough scratchy throat for two weeks. I have been tired and sleepy all the time for months also. I take Lisinopril and Premarin, and 54 and quit smoking about 10 months ago.
Avatar n tn s picked about 7 hours after taking Lisinopril and was really bad at about 12 hours after taking Lisinopril. I experienced about 3100 PVC's during this 24 hr holter report of which approximately 1600 of them came in this 5 hour period between the 7 hour and 12 hour mark post Lisinopril. I do have about 20-80 PVC's per hour during the rest of the day. any thoughts???
Avatar m tn I would say around week 3 of taking BP medication, I started feeling fatigued, nauseas and I did actually vomit once, along with a dry cough and a constant tickle in my throat that seemed to go from my Adam’s apple to my left collar bone. I googled my symptoms, and everything I read pointed toward heart disease/failure and I panicked.
Avatar n tn s approval, I doubt there would be approval, but if your husband is foolish enough, then watch for any swollen legs, dry cough from lung edema, shortness of breath, faster heart rate, fatigue, and possibly chest pain...and possibly a high risk of cardiac arrest.
Avatar f tn I have dry cough and nasal ccongestion. I think it has to do with AZ weather.
