Avatar n tn Some adapt very quickly, just a few days, some take weeks. With the air being thinner, blood pressure will be affected because you have to basically pump blood around quicker to obtain the same oxygen supply to all your living cells. How is your breathing? any dizziness?
Avatar m tn Like you said, we rask patients to avoid vitamin K when taking coumadin (a blood thinner) but other than that a multivitamin or vitamin b supplements will not be a problem with the above medications. You may buys whatever vitamins she needs.
Avatar f tn I have been taking lisinonpril 20 mg for blood pressure going about 7 years. The recommended starting dosage of lisinopril for people with high blood pressure is 10 mg, taken once daily. Your doctor may be increasing based on the blood pressure response and consideration to side effects of lisinopril, the dosage may be increased or decreased. For most people, the normal daily dose is 20 mg to 40 mg.
Avatar f tn Why are you so deficient? Did you get tested for Celiac disease? If you are not on a blood thinner, I'd take L-arginine as it helps me feel really good. Taking calcium at night and magnesium in the morning can help with bone pain. I'd take a food-based supplement too. There are many brands, but this is the one I just started taking and I like it: http://www.****.com/women.
Avatar n tn It is not true, "people with pacemakers have to take blood thinner so that clots don't build up around the site of the pacemaker." I have my pacemakers (total 4), I never taking any blood thinner orally. The doctor also told me, "don't touch Aspirin". I got A-fib and I also got A-tach. Only one tablet of Aspirin was given at ER for my chest pain. May be they put me on testing to prove that pacemaker, A-Fib isn't need blood thinner. Take care.
Avatar n tn t know much about heart disease or high blood pressure but let me tell you a couple things I know about this medication. Lisinopril is used to control high blood pressure and water retention. Too strong of a dosage can cause diarrhea which can cause potassium to drop low. Losartan - potassium (Cozarr) is used to control hypertension and might be a better fit for your daughters condition as the side effects are similar. I hope this helps.
Avatar m tn He informs me that this is normal and I should not worry. He increased Lisinopril from 5 ml to 10 ml (two 5 mil tablets) to lower my blood pressure. The other Metoprolol 25 mil 2 times a day is not change.
Avatar f tn Severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) and hives occasionally occur. Rarely, lisinopril may cause a drop in red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. Lisinopril can impair the function of the kidneys, and every person taking this medication should have their kidney function checked.
Avatar n tn is it harmful in anyway to switch from amlodipine 10mg to lisinopril 10mg?
Avatar n tn Tried cardioversion but did not work--was told only a 30% chance of success. Am on lisinopril for blood pressure-- for a fib--digoxin, tatzia xt and xarelto as blood thinner. Cardiologist said were other meds he could give me but side effects outweighed benefits and would not change meds unless had no other choice. I have a fib daily but not as strong as when started.
Avatar m tn my girl friend just went to the doctor, they took her blood pressure and it was 210 over 110. she is 53 and is all ready on procardia. they toke it four times and it stayed that high. they just gave her a scrpit for linsinaprel and sent her home, was that the right thing to do.
Avatar f tn Lisinopril and Metoprolol when I left the hospital, now Lisinopril and carvedilol (coreg). seems like a relatively common combination.
Avatar m tn Hello I'm new to the forum and I'm glad I found it. I have a question about high blood pressure medication. I found out two years ago that I have high blood pressure. I also suffer with ocd. I was put on lisinopril and amlodipine. Ever since I started taking these medications my ocd has been totally out of control. There are rituals and image problems that I have never had before and it's really getting worse.
1618806 tn?1304734477 Should I avoid foods that contain potassium while taking Lisinopril? I hope not! I love bananas and green leafy veggies!
Avatar n tn Kidney functions are in normal range. Three days ago I coughed up a small amount of blood when on a blood thinner. I am off the blood thinner and no more blood has appeared. I am a little fatigued most of time. What should I need to do?
Avatar n tn On the 30 day follow up from hospitalization and another echocardiobram I was told my heart function was up to 30%. My lisinopril went from 10 to 20 mg. On my 30 day follow-up office visit from the following cardiocatherization I was told my heart was functioning at 25% even though I was feeling better than before I had the cardiac event in December. Even though I was feeling better the doctor increased my lisinopril to 40mg. I don't get it.
Avatar n tn 20 mg in 7 am , and 20 mg Lisinopril in 7 pm (so total = 40 mg Lisinopril per day). During the day (systolic) hypertension goes 150-160 mmHg and only in 2-4pm it is 130 mmHg (and at 10-12 pm). What should be done for this patient. Maybe trying a diuretic (hydrochlorthiazid) and lowering the dose of Lisinopril? Please tell what do you think of the doses to start trying, how often and when during the day? (P.S.
Avatar f tn Lisinopril blocks angiotensin and angiotensin constricts vessels and when angiotensin is controlled blood vessels relax and as a result better blood flow. However, scientists also believe that the angiotensin-converting enzyme is responsible for the breakdown of other substances in the lungs. When ACE is blocked, these substances can build up in the lungs, which can ultimately lead to a chronic cough.
Avatar f tn What questions should I ask re what type of blood pressure medication I should be on? I tried benicar and lisinopril and caused sinus drainage - however, they worked Then tried hydrochlorothiazide which cause major constipation .... Now on amlopidine beselate and coreq cr and have fatigue....seems the latter meds are overkill as I had only one coronary stent over 10 hrs ago and cardiologist a few weeks ago said my heart is fine.
Avatar f tn You should also get your blood cholesterol, lipid, triglyceride, blood sugar and thyroid levels checked. Please discuss this with your cardiologist. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history.
Avatar n tn I take 10mg of lexapro per day, plus 25mg of Hydrocklorothiazide, 50mg of Atenolol and 20mg of Lisinopril. When I started to take the Lisinopril, I would wake up in the middle of the night with my heart racing and feeling as if I had a panic attach. I sucked it up and got used to the med over time and it stopped happening. My blood pressure is still not really under control, at the doc's office I am slightly up 135/89 etc.
Avatar f tn I was offered Lisinopril, I thought it was for high blood pressure, while I was hospitalized for a-fib last fall. I was already on an anti-arrythmic and a beta blocker and a couple of other unrelated drugs. Anyway they offered me Liprinosil and I declined to add yet another drug. My cholestersol is about the same as yours and I'm on crestor for that. Haven't had blood tests yet to confirm that it has lowered it. Do you take any thyroid meds or hormone med.
Avatar m tn t have high blood pressure, the lisinopril shut my kidneys down. Luckily, I got to the hospital before bigger problems occurred.
Avatar f tn The doctor put me on two 10mg capsules of Lisinopril a day. My blood pressure remains high. What causes my blood pressure to remain high even on BP meds? I do not work and do not have a lot of home stress or anything like that. I do not smoke, don't drink at all.
