Avatar n tn I have pain in the very upper back of my legs and the inside of my legs where the thigh meets the body. It began a few weeks ago. I am 64 and have been a type 2 diabetic for 5 years. I also have been treated for hypertension and high cholesterol levels since the age of 50. I take daily Glucophage 500 x 2, Januvia 100, Actos 30 (newly prescribed), Lisinopril 40, Amlodopine 10 (newly prescribed), and HCTZ 25. What do you think is the cause of my pain? Thanks.
Avatar f tn I have been having chest pains over the past couple of hours. It has been a steady pain....(7-7.5 on a scale of 1-10)... I've had a little bit of pain in my shoulder as well...What could be causing this? I am 5'8" and I weigh 260. I do have high blood pressure and asthma, (i take Lisinopril and Albuterol for those). My BP has still been running high, although I was just switched to Lisinopril from Propranolol 4 days ago. Should I go to the ER?
Avatar m tn Recently I have been experiencing sudden pain in my abdomen. The pain then spreads to my shoulders and down my arms. A little health history...I am 32 year old male, 6'3" 265lbs. I have slightly high blood pressure that I take 5mg of Lisinopril for and have been for the past 3 weeks. I also had a bout of Prostatitis which I was given a ten day supply of Cipro for. Also, I have had my hear checked fully 2 years ago when my EKG showed and abnormality.
Avatar m tn I was put on lisinopril and amlodipine. Ever since I started taking these medications my ocd has been totally out of control. There are rituals and image problems that I have never had before and it's really getting worse. Does anyone here have anxiety problems along with HBP and the medications have made them worse? Doctors don't believe me but I know my own mind and how different it is since I went on these medications.
Avatar m tn First a little about me. I'm 33 years old. 6'2"- 200-205 and 14% body fat and very fit. I workout reguarly, have been doing martial arts and crossfit for 15 years and am teacher. I ran an half marathon, 10 months ago. I've now been diagonosed with idiopathic cariodmyopathy. I' have no chest pain, occasional shortness of breath(with extreme or long effort). Not even when I'm exercising or training do I have any pain.
Avatar m tn I have been taking 40 mg lisinopril for 3 months. It works on my BP but I am coughing and my nose is running.
Avatar n tn I started taking Hydrochlorithiazide (water pill) in January, that's when I noticed the pvc's. Had all the test, ekg, echo and stress. All were normal. My stress test showed that when my heartrate increased the pvc's stopped. So my pvc's only occured while I was at rest. I was afraid to sleep at night, thinking I would not wake up. I stopped taking the Hydro. I started working out and walking daily and the pvc's disappeared.
1210142 tn?1266077031 Thank you for your response. I know for sure that the BP medications are giving me chest pain, back pain, nausea and dizziness. I am back on Lisinopril since Losartan did not do any good. My BP became higher- between 131 and 146 over 89/92 so the dizziness is definetely not because of the law blood pressure. Carvedilol is the one giving me problems so I wanted to find out: since I had MI but not heart failure- is is absolutely necessary to take beta blockers?
Avatar m tn I wonder if the Lisinopril is the reason why I have dark urine, havent went as much, and get dizzy sometimes....only been happening last few days.
Avatar f tn I just returned from my first appt w/ my new Dr. She says that I should be on lisinopril "to protect my kidneys". I have had diabetes for 35 years and never had a test come back indicating that I am "spilling protiens". My BP is 104/70 A1c is about 7.3.Very good health, no heart problems etc. Is this just a standard/ routine prescription for diabetics now...like aspirin?
Avatar m tn 220lbs with borderline HTN which my PCP said to be a combination of being overweight and anxiety, I was placed on lisinopril 5mg 1x daily and xanax 0.25mg 3x daily, until I lose 20lbs. the 5mg of lisinopril helped with the BP, but 3 days into taking the Medication I started getting muscle aches. I went to my PCP and he said it was not likely lisinopril so he gave me flexeril for the muscle aches.
Avatar m tn Here recently though after I take Lisinopril it has jumped to 130 when walking 100 when resting. I take Lisinopril in the morning and my pulse jumps but at night it gos back to being okay (Lisinopril's half life is 12 hours). I haven't taken today because I was out but my resting pulse is 90 and when I went to WalMart it went no higher than 110 unlike 140 yesterday. I am a 24 overweight male 5'4" 190 and I am out of shape.
701984 tn?1236614618 Sit up a couple of minutes to let your blood pressure adjust. Lisinopril studies have been shown that Lisinopril can increase lifespan. With beta blockers, that have not been proven and sometimes a beta blocker can do harm. Atenolol does not remain at a constant level in your body. It peaks and drops. Are you taking your blood pressure three times a day and recording it? What is your blood pressure when on the meds?
Avatar m tn Lisinopril and Carvedilol are blood pressure medications (lisinopril is an ACE inhibitor, Carvedilol is a beta blocker) and should not have any effect on your lipid profile. Both are important medications for those who have suffered a heart attack and undergone stenting. In addition to these medications, you should be on some sort of lipid medication (a "statin" such as atorvastatin, pravastatin, rosuvasatin, lovastatin, etc).
Avatar f tn did not use my asthma spray called qvar last night and did not use lisinopril, my blood pressure pill....slept like a baby and woke with no pain!!........so not sure which of the above must cause the bone pain I have had for weeks and weeks! Thank you for the tip, will try my magnesium after breakfast and calcium will move to after dinner............. curious, why I did not have any breathing issue either without my ashtma spray....??...but, have it handy in case today feel I need it..........
Avatar f tn I have had stent implants too and was taking a bunch of meds but I was only on lisinopril for short time. It was the lisinopril that gave me those symptoms plus a bad tickle in the back of my throat that caused me to cough a lot! I finally got off the lisinopril and I felt Waaaayyy better! Good luck!
Avatar f tn Looking for good new...found out I am pregnant and am taking Lisinopril 10mg. Does anyone have any experience with this?
Avatar n tn I pretty much have the same thing. Do you have diabetes or high blood pressure? I was on Lisinopril and i ended up in the ER for the blood pressure medicine. It's called Paresthesia. They put me on something new. I feel a lot better but now I wonder if it's something else. It keeps me from sleeping and it wakes me up. Before when I was on Lisinopril sometimes it would fire in the same spot multiple times and i had problems walking. It has not been that bad since.
Avatar n tn I recently completed a physical that indicated my blood count to be normal and I am not anemic. My blood pressure does run a bit high from time to time due to chronic back pain from lumbar fusions. It climbed to 183/132 a few weeks ago, and my Internest prescribed Lisinopril. Whne I took this medication my blood pressure then dropped to 67/47. I tried taking only a 1/2 dosage and still had the same affect.
Avatar m tn My pressure came down to 160/80 and after seeing my doc he said come back in 6 months. After questioning why I had high blood pressure and not getting any answers I asked to see another doc and he added Lisinopril 10mg and said come back in 6 months. Since then BP has been steady at 130's/40's. After bugging the doc enough about why at 32 i have to take 3 meds to keep BP under control he has finally set me up to see a kidney specialist.
Avatar n tn 20 mg in 7 am , and 20 mg Lisinopril in 7 pm (so total = 40 mg Lisinopril per day). During the day (systolic) hypertension goes 150-160 mmHg and only in 2-4pm it is 130 mmHg (and at 10-12 pm). What should be done for this patient. Maybe trying a diuretic (hydrochlorthiazid) and lowering the dose of Lisinopril? Please tell what do you think of the doses to start trying, how often and when during the day? (P.S.
Avatar m tn About 3 years ago I was diagnosed with hyper-tension. My Dr. put me on Lisinopril. Late last year (2014), I developed a dry hacking cough. My Doctor & I concluded that it must've been the Lisinopril. Then, I was put on Losartan. Within 2 1/2 months my muscles started to ache which led to problems sleeping. My legs ( calves & hamstrings) would get very tight & I would need to constantly stretch. Has anybody using Losartan experienced these side effects??
Avatar n tn I used to get awful pains in my chest and my vision was affected (Blurry vision, and floaters appeared in my right eye) I also felt as if I wasnt here (Light headed and when I walked I felt as if I was veering to one side) The same thing happened when the Doc doubled my dose of Lisinopril to 5mg all those symptons came back again. Instead of making me feel better I felt a 100% worse, that is how I am only taking 2.5 mg Lisinopril now.
Avatar f tn Lisinopril and Metoprolol when I left the hospital, now Lisinopril and carvedilol (coreg). seems like a relatively common combination.
Avatar m tn cough resolved but I have been having early morning rapid heart beat (wakes me up) in recent weeks and my tinnitus has become much worse. My upper back pain which started while on drugs is also worse since the dosage went up. I have no natural allergies but have some chemical sensitivity to chlorine I just noticed that coreg may be associated with tinnitus in a very small fraction of people, maybe 1% or less, and that arrythmia may also be a side effect.
Avatar n tn No, I'm not taking sotalol, too. Thank you, Dr. McWilliams. I appreciate your answer. I have an appointment with my local cardiologist in 2 weeks (EP is out of town), and I'll discuss adding back the benicar (or preferably lisinopril).
Avatar n tn On the 30 day follow up from hospitalization and another echocardiobram I was told my heart function was up to 30%. My lisinopril went from 10 to 20 mg. On my 30 day follow-up office visit from the following cardiocatherization I was told my heart was functioning at 25% even though I was feeling better than before I had the cardiac event in December. Even though I was feeling better the doctor increased my lisinopril to 40mg. I don't get it.
