12880268 tn?1427636775 Lisdexamfetamine is a Schedule 2 drug. That means that while it is recognized as having medicinal value, it has a very high potential for addiction. Careful here...I have no idea what your doctor will think, but if I were you, I'd be upfront about your fears...tell him "the last thing I want to end up with is an addiction; I'm concerned about how quickly I develop a tolerance to this drug." Wikipedia has a lot of info about this medicine...here is the link: http://en.
Avatar f tn Oh, I forgot to mention that Dr. Parker really stresses the importance of a high protein breakfast to make your meds work better.
Avatar f tn Popping in a few grapefruit after 6-7 hours of medication will not cause much harm. However, do not go overboard! Grapefruit can hydrolyse lisdexamfetamine in Vyvanse making more of it available. This may result in more harm than good. Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined. Take care!
Avatar f tn As opposed to Adderall, which contains roughly 75% dextroamphetamine and 25% levoamphetamine, lisdexamfetamine is a single-enantiomer (dextro) amphetamine formula. This pure formulation may reduce side-effects, but certain individuals exhibit a better clinical response to the mixed isomer preparation, and so choose Adderall XR or equivalent generics." In other words it is apparently not as strong as adderall. None of us can tell you what the right meds are for your child.

Avatar f tn High Tsh of 7.18, high ft4 on 1.92 (.82-1.77) and high ft3 (2-4.4) TPO 10 (0-34), TGA 1.3 (0-.9) AGE 20 MALE, low vitd d3 -28.2 and low avit b12 -261, bad diet college student....It doesnt make sense for the ft3 ft3 to be elevated high with a high tsh so i am confused. This is my son and i take thyroid med since menopause yet have never had any antibodies...
Avatar n tn I'm surprised your doctor did not put you on a low dosage of thyroid meds. Your TSH is rising and you are already hypo. Your TSH level should be somewhere between .3 and 3.0 6 weeks is too long to wait to get on meds. By then, you could be in a dangerous situation and might take you months to get leveled out. I would try to find an endocrinologist or another PCP that will put you on meds a/s/a/p.

Avatar n tn Anyway, now I have a high TSH (6.45) and a high T4. They are doing further studies. I have been very cold all summer and warm up when I sit in the direct sun. I am tiried, fatigue easily and don't sleep well at night. My Hg has dropped into the 9.2-9.9 level. I am also on calcium supplements and calcitriol for hypoparathyroidism. My calcium has been stable, low normal, for many years. Now, it is out of control, very high which required hospitalization. My creatine increased to 3.
Avatar f tn Obviously 170/124 it is not a normal BP, how dangerous it will be it depends on how often and how long you are there, remember the BP is changing continuously. How high is too high... it depends on every body... High BP stretch all your organs and it will depend on the weaker one to create serious problems... Why are you taking Atenolol? It is BetaBlocker and normally are not used as the first line of medicaments for BP. At your age, hormonal issues are common.
