Avatar n tn I switched to liquid iron supplement as the iron tablets made me feel ill, and constipated
Avatar f tn Thank you so much ! Before I started my prenatal I was just taking two daily vitamins and an iron pill and felt fine . but my prenatal have me nasusea. And every time I eat in the morning I throw it all up, I might try at night time.
4274823 tn?1388529098 Has anyone read or been told to avoid consuming dairy because of the calcium while on a liquid iron supplement? Or is this more crucial if one is taking another form of iron? There is no statement on the bottle or box, yet I have seen sources online that recommend this.
Avatar f tn Just you guys know I have read that the gummy vitamins have very little to no iron in them & that they are not adequate by themselves while pregnant. If you take a gummy you need to talk with your doc & probably take a separate iron supplement.
Avatar f tn -) very gentle on tummy bc they are liquid gels and my pb was very happy and impressed with my choice on those she said they are a great brand :-)
Avatar f tn I love my nature made liquid gels with dha and omega-3. Very easy to swallow and no nausea problems very important fir me as solid vitamins make me puke regardless if I've eaten. When I start breastfeeding I may switch to similac liquid gels these particular ones require two pills a day the vitamin abd a mineral supplement. Not sure though need to do more research on these brute I decide also will cost about 20$ more per 90 days.
Avatar f tn I bought mine from a health food store. They have no additives and higher percentage of vitamins. Since taking them, no nausea or vomiting.
1288945 tn?1271972452 I don't take liquid vitamins but I still use chewables. The BEST ones I have found for me are the "Children's GUMMY multivitamin". They're called up&up (I bought them at Target). 4-6 a day and it figures out to the daiy requirements for adults. I tolerate the sugar content in them (2 gms for 2 gummy bears) and I had my surgery 9 months ago. I've been taking them for the past 6 months at least.
3113559 tn?1347750099 got so bad she actually had to drink iron in a liquid format.
541609 tn?1273879848 As Amanda said the usual culprit causing constipation is the iron, but even with it in the multi and the liquid form I have had no issues. I am not taking any fibre either. I bought everything at the health food store. I have had no problem with constipation, in fact I am still very regular with this pregnancy. check out www. sisu. com without the spaces and go to products then womens health and it will give you the lowdown as well as where to buy. Hope this helps!
Avatar f tn Hey ladies just a small question! So the prenatal vitamins I am currently taken prescribed by my doctor are absolutely awful! I cannot take them without gaging and throwing up. I feel sick about an hour later and it lasts throughout the whole day. I've been doing research about different vitamins I could take and I found the most best one seems to be belly bar which is a chewable prenatal vitamin. But I was wondering if anyone takes other vitamins that isn't a huge horse pill?
Avatar f tn I just found out my iron is super low my midwives suggested taking liquid instead of pills works alot better and faster and to take it with oj. Seems to be working!!
Avatar f tn I am 14 weeks and I throw up for everything and i could not hold down my iron pills so i was told to take two flinestone vitamins with iron and i feel alot better now
Avatar f tn Did your Dr tell you your iron was low? Taking iron pills will help if you are anemic, but they can cause some tummy upset and constipation. Also make sure you are drinking enough fluids. Your blood volume nearly doubles during pregnancy so you need to be adequately hydrated in order to maintain that volume.
Avatar f tn I take iron pills alone because I'm anaemic & they have never made me sick . You need iron, try Flintstones vitamins ! They work just as Well ....
Avatar f tn I was anemic when I was in high school so my mom pounded it in my head to take iron pills with my prenatal vitamins. I use nature made 65 mg. they're super tiny but I always eat with my vitamins. One day I took them on an empty stomach and I threw up and it was the nastiest taste ever!
Avatar f tn Did your doctor tell you that you're anemic? If so then you will need the extra iron. However, too much iron can be a bad thing, too. I have no clue how much is what you'd need. I'd call them back in the morning or call your pharmacist and ask them about it and about when and how much to take!
Avatar f tn What other supplements/vitamins are you ladies taking or suggest to take besides prenatals? !
Avatar f tn Mine was bad in my first and early second trimester. Don't stop taking your vitamins, just try to find one with no iron. Flintstones gummy vitamins worked for me. I switched back to regular prenatal vitamins again around 18 weeks it's been fine since.
Avatar f tn My midwife has me on Floradex, it's a liquid iron I get at the health food store. It doesn't block you up at all and the iron pulls did.
Avatar f tn I am taking a liquid prenatal that has folic acid, dha and iron with other vitamins. I have a bad gag reflex so I can't do the horse pills.
Avatar f tn Then, get a separate natural iron supplement, such as a chelated iron, or Easy Iron or Gentle Iron. Easy Iron and Gentle Iron have just the RDA of iron and are what is recommended, unless your doctor has specifically told you to take added iron.
Avatar f tn If they are like mine the vitamins are actually in the horse size pills. The liquid gels are just a booster. You could probably take the booster with a gummy vitamin. Gummies don't tend to have iron in them.
