Avatar n tn Hi Joe, I also take 20mg of Lipitor and drink two to three beers nearly every night. So far there has been no problems with the liver function tests. Of course you always hear that a little alcohol is good for heart patients. I have read up on this and the level of alchohol consumption that the Heart Association deems healthy is 1 to 3 drinks per week. I was surprised to learn that 2 to 4 drinks per day is considered heavy drinking, and unhealthful.

1158582 tn?1262955218 My husband has been on Lipitor for about a year now. He takes it at night before bed and for about the past 2 months been waking up with nausea that lasts about 30 min. Occasionally he even has some vomiting. I was wondering if anyone would know if this could be connected with the Lipitor or if anyone else has had a similar experience with this drug?
1583640 tn?1296677630 I can literally feel the muscles rolling and tightening under my skin. Nothing helps them. They occur mostly at night, but bending my leg too much can also trigger an attack. My pharmacist says its from the Lipitor. My doctor says its from Vitamin D and Magnesium deficiencies. I think she's too close to the situation and would like to consult another doctor, but don't know what kind of specialist to see about muscle problems. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn I had a TIA on March 5, 2008. I was at a rehearsal and singing at the time when my face went numb and I couldn't focus my eyes for several minutes. A few minutes later, my right hand went numb. The singer next to me said later she could understand what I was saying. I waited until the syptoms passed and then drove myself home. I was still in a lot of denial about the TIA until the hospital called last Friday to see how I was after my stroke. Holy COW!!
Avatar n tn My angina is at night, or before noon. It does not happen in response to stress, I am sleeping! I am exercising about two hours a day, five days a week. 75 minutes yoga class, followed by 60 minutes on machines. I keep my heart rate at 110-125, and I am 42 yrs old. When I exercise, I have my nitro with me, but have never had to use it. No angina then. I take Isosorbide before bedtime. A couple of times a week I still have angina, even with the Isosorbide.

Avatar m tn We had another episode last night. All of these episodes take place at night. He had an EEG done and it did show some abnormality but it was medicine related. His tremors have never gotten under control since his diagnosis. I guess we are at our wits end as to what to do next. We are asking if you have any ideas to what we could maybe bring up to the doctor as far as changes. We are just really frustrated.
Avatar n tn I believe for me it was pinched nerves in the neck/shoulder area.. I would wake up at night and would take 20 mins for my arms to come back to life.. For me I just had to loose some weight. 20 pounds did the trick. I still occasionally have minor asleep feelings if I fall asleep on my stomach with arms under my pillow/above my head (my favorite way to sleep!! >_<) Thought I'd share, not sure if your overweight but that would possibly be a factor if so. Hope you feel better!
Avatar n tn I drink socially and take liptor and was wondering in that I only drink in the evenings if it's better to take the lipitor in the morning in order for the liver to metabolize the alcohol at night. Or is the liver simply distributed evenly over a 24 hour period making the time you take it with alcohol irrelevant. Does drinking 1.5 - 2.0 oz of scotch or bourbon within an hour or two of taking 20 mg of Lipitor create an elevated risk of Liver or Kidney dysfunction?

Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with complicated migraine at the Cleveland Clinic at age 34. My best friend also has the condition, diagnosed in her 30s. I am now age 53 and have been on a variety of medications over the years. It is a very REAL condition which does cause TIA and stroke. Australia has studied it more than US doctors. I also have vasospasm disease which causes angina (since my 40s) which Dr. Eric Topel Cleveland Clinic believes is related to the migraines.
1176499 tn?1272683655 I do take them, at night, so if I can get to sleep it isn't that bad, at least for that night, the next day, I still don't feel well. I, too, was told it will diminish over time, and I'm still waiting for that "time". Also, I know for me, that I feel sensitive or tender, in the areas of my shots. Especially, my stomach, my lower ribs ache, all the time. I'm not sure that is a coincidence or not.

This is without taking lexapro, advair, albuterol or other meds (excepting 2 mg prednisone) which would affect blood sugar.
