lipitor patient assistance

could anyone give me ideas as to where or who i would contact to get some patient assistance for acute hep c treatment? I am not working, cannot wait on s.s. disability. I try to do some construction work when available, but it is really rough.

There are so many drug assistance programs out there for us in the US who are not on medicare/medicaid or live in Massachussetts. I'm thinking it might be helpful to start a thread of some of these so everyone is taking full advantage of the drug companies' generosity. Ok, you know I'm being facetious with that comment - they want us to take their drug and are bribing us to do so by helping with the copay.

I started thinking back, since menopause, I started on several meds, on of which was lipitor. Not one doctor said it could be the lipitor i was taking causing the hives. On my own a week ago, I stopped the lipitor and the lipitor only. For the first time in 5 yrs i have no more hives. Why is there not more articles published or side effects like mine posted for lipitor??? What is your feeling on the hives from Lipitor??

The other drug is Metoprolol, 25 MG two times a day. The Lipitor is the stuff giving me problems. I still work and have insurance. They have a service to talk about health situations. I'm going to talk to them about the Lipitor and how to get off it at some point. Today, a week and a few days after the stent went in, I am feeling a little better. Valium is helping me get some quality time asleep. I've quit all smoking and expect I'll be able to stay quit.

I don't know what meds you're taking but often the drug companies have assistance programs and will provide you with discounts and even free medications. Years ago, I was between insurance coverage and couldn't afford Lipitor, and I just had to have my doctor fill out a paper, prove my income, and they covered all the expenses.

Lipitor is very safe and extremely effective. I'm an examp;le of a knot-head who was afraid of statins and decided to follow the 'natural' route. My decision led to eight stents, heart attacks, a pacemaker and bypass surgery. Agressive Cardiac Artery Disease needs to be addressed from a number of levels in my opinion, including exercise, weight loss, statins, dietary changes and stress relief.

I have driven my total Chol down to about 110 and LDL to about 50 by diet (plant based and no oils), in combination with the lipitor and it seems it would be logical to test coming of the 5 mg lipitor for a short period and see if there is an effect on the upper back pain and also check lipids to assess how much of my change is due to lipitor vs diet.

I was percribed Lipitor, 40mg. I have been breaking them in half and now see you should not do that. I can not swollow pills and dissolve most in my mouth with water. Why can't I do that with the lipitor? I have been trying to swollow them but by the time I get them down they are pretty much dissoved. I can't find an answer on line.

Taking Lipitor, Niacin and baby Aspirin 81mg to control cholesterol! Recently took a blood test and noticed elevated Creatine PhosphoKinase at 268! I exercise, diet and take medications mentioned as part of an overall plan to control cholesterol and blood pressure! Is this elevated CPK of 268 something to be concerned about! What is considered a dangerouis level of CPK?

Reason I ask is that I have been taking Lipitor since November H.A. and Stent, 10 mgs at first and now 5 mg at night, just before bed time, and since i started taking them, on the 10 mg dosage i had deep lovely surrealistic dreams about all kinds of things, like a movie in my brain every night, fell joyful and happy upon waking, and now with the 5 mg dosage, breaking pills in half as per doctor's orders, I still have very vivid dreaming all night long. This is my understanding of the patient assistance programs for Incivek. The list price, which no patient will have to end up paying, is $49,200 for 12 weeks. HOWEVER, the patient assistance programs, are more than generous. Typical Co-pay for the three prescriptions that will be needed will be between $50 and $250 each.

83, i went on a diet and did another test on the 09th April results came as Total 263.70, Trig 178.90, HDL 40.98 and LDL 197.20, my doctor gave me lipitor 40 mg, took for 25 days with a very serious diet and did another test 110.98 total cholesterol 99.20 TRIG, HDL 37.80 and LDL 66.90 i am a smoker less than a pack a day, however, there is no heart disease in the family and my blood pressure is always 120/70 or slightly lower.

Would your local mental health service have access to that information? Maybe whereever you go for governement assistance (financially) they may have some info. Have you tried a google search?

He is taking 80mg of Lipitor and has a very low cholesterol reading. He takes lots of other med too. I am desperate to change the course my life is taking. The bottom line is that I believe that the meds are not allowing my husband to think clearly or rationally. One dreadfully sad lady.

Without the patient assistance program I probably wouldn't be SVR - when my insurance refused to let me extend, they coudln't have made it easier and didn't even make me feel bad about needing them to help.
