Common Questions and Answers about Lipitor lafayette ca

lipitor

Avatar n tn It is possible tat this is related to the lipitor, especially if new medications have been started recently. I would suggest some laboratory workup including liver funciton tests and creatine kinase. Another possibility is that you have developed peripheral vascular disease, since this is often seen in patients with coronary artery disease. In this case you may need a procedure called an arterial brachial index, where measurements of pressures are compared in the arms and legs.
489774 tn?1212935663 Hi Zoeh, Wishing you all the best tomorrow !! Please let us know. By the by... how close are you to the "toxic spill" on the railway the other day.? I know it was in Lafayette (one of my favorite places )and remembered you were fairly close .. Sounded like a real mess..
225036 tn?1294509400 So now I am going to go to Lafayette Indiana where my urologist is and see a gyn there. Hopefully we can get the ball rolling before Keith has to go back to work. It will be done by doing a laperotomy (sp) and I will be in the hospital for at least 5 days. I'll let you know more info when I find out more. Also, my grandma had to go have a colonoscopy done today and they removed 15 pollops and one was too big to remove. That one was very suspicious for colon cancer.
Avatar f tn I also take zetia and lipitor for cholesterol as well as the usual vitamins/minerals (CA,C,D,Selenium, OsteoBiflex, zinc, multi,E). My new oncologist ran a CA27.29 test which showed a reading of 45 which is considered high. Initially, he wanted to run a PET scan, but decided that we could rerun the test again in 3 months to see if the Lipitor or something else was affecting it. If the number is higher, he says he would highly recommend the PET scan.
Avatar f tn He also asked me to start taking Baby Aspirin, Toprol and Lipitor. He has not done any blood work so far -- so I do not know what the LDL levels are. I am a 38 year old, active, non-smoking male with reasonably active lifestyle. I work out about twice a week (cardio and weights) and play golf every week. I have never had any attributable chest pain or discomfort so far other than the PVCs in the past two weeks.
Avatar n tn m off to get a second opinion, but would like to get it from a doctor who could consider alternatives other than simple aspiration or neglect. If anyone knows of a physician in the Lafayette, Louisiana area (including Alexandria and Baton Rouge), I'd really like to have that information. My primary care physician and my insurance provider have both come up empty.
Avatar f tn I just wanted to say hello. My name is Kelly and I live in Lafayette, Louisiana. I am 37 years old and just found out I am pregnant. I don't have an official due date yet, my first OB appointment is March 24th. I am thinking sometime in November. I am glad to see so many mommies to be over 35 out there! I am scared because of my age, but it's in God's hands and i pray for a healthy pregnancy and baby! Oh, and I have one little girl who just turned 3 last month!
Avatar f tn Hey everyone I live in Lafayette Louisiana and am desperately looking 4 a doctor who will prescribe subutex most doctors will only prescribe suboxone please help please
Avatar n tn I started thinking back, since menopause, I started on several meds, on of which was lipitor. Not one doctor said it could be the lipitor i was taking causing the hives. On my own a week ago, I stopped the lipitor and the lipitor only. For the first time in 5 yrs i have no more hives. Why is there not more articles published or side effects like mine posted for lipitor??? What is your feeling on the hives from Lipitor??
Avatar m tn //www****.com/ds/lipitor/hair%20growth%20abnormal/ My question is, has anyone else taking Lipitor experience this? How do you stop this 'hair growth' ? Is there an alternative to Lipitor? Thank you!
10996785 tn?1432812977 The doctor then asked about my lipitor. She told me that lipitor has a bad side effect that can permanently damage muscles in your body, that can lead to kidney failure. I'm not saying Lipitor is bad. It does have this side effect that can effect a small amount of people. However, I without a doubt, feel as if this is my problem. Lipitor and Trazodone have combined to almost stop me in my tracks. I realize that some people may not like the talking about lipitor in this way.
Avatar f tn My husband was recently taken off of Lipitor and has been experiencing daily headaches. He's not a headache person. Is this a common thing when coming off Lipitor? Also, I have read that you should stop it gradually. Is this true?

678451 tn?1226425977 I have just started on Lipitor for what has been determined to be a genetic predisposition to High Cholesterol level. The physician wishes that I be maintained on 10 mgs. daily. However the Rx. was written for 40 mgs, to take one half tablet every second day(since the cost of procuring the 40 mg tablet is significantly lower). Will taking 20 mgs every second day give me the same benefit of 10 mgs daily. Or, is it best to take the medication daily as oppose to every second day.
10996785 tn?1432812977 Hey guys. I post in different communities here. I know that it's known that lipitor has the side-effect of muscle tiredness and aches. Has anyone else have to deal with this? Man it's off the hook. I almost am paralyzed fro, lipitor. This horrible and I would like to talk to someone who's been through it. This is a very under-rated affliction IMO. I've been tested and it doesn't look like I have the Rabadolosis<sp? That spelling isn't even close.

Avatar f tn He has just started a new job, so cannot go cold turkey. The only doctors in Lafayette, LA who prescribe Suboxone are specialists, and he does not have health insurance, nor the money it would cost for that sort of treatment. Any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Avatar m tn clearly above normal... doctor advised him t leave the use of lipitor. my question t you is ... by leaving lipitor will the count decrease?? or what should be done?? and is it possible that he gets infected with HCV by the use of lipitor, is it possible? how far has his liver been damaged?? waiting for your answer :(((( m really worried!! ..thank you in advance.
Avatar n tn People taking lipitor are recommended to avoid alcohol in their diet because it raises the triglyceride levels, another lipid which is a risk factor for heart disease. Going to soft drinks would be far more beneficial for your body obviously but if this is impossible I would switch your lipitor to the mornings. Lipitor, unlike some statin drugs, can be taken any time of the day.
Avatar n tn I've been on 10mg lipitor for about 2 months. In the pst 4 weeks, I have experienced an almost once-a-week swelling in my lips and face...first time lower left, 2nd time, entire upper, 3rd time lower right, 4th time, entire right side of my face and finally, yesterday, entire left side of my face from upper lip to just below the eye. Cardiologist told me to get off drug for 6 weeks to see if anything else is causing swelling.
Avatar n tn ve been on niaspam and my dr. thinks I should change to lipitor because of the new drug studies on lipitor. I am a perfect weight, and i'm 63 with no incidents of heart attack but my arteries do show significant arterilosclerosis. I feel healthy and seem great so far! any advice appreciated.
519736 tn?1253986826 My husband was prescribed generic lipitor about a year ago. Prior to this he was advised to use Slo Niacin. When he began the lipitor, his dr. did not tell him to stop taking the Slo Niacin. He has been taking them together daily. Last week he experienced more frequent, loose bowels, but did not feel "sick"..This went away and he started to have muscle pain in the chest and upper back and his legs..that began 3 days ago. The muscle pain is preventing him from getting any sleep.
