I had to come off of Lipitor after one week due to severe muscle and joint pain. My mother had moderate pain after starting Lipitor. We were both encouraged by our separate physicians to take coenzyme Q10 with the Lipitor. While my pain continued, my mother's pain has almost completely disappeared.

I started thinking back, since menopause, I started on several meds, on of which was lipitor. Not one doctor said it could be the lipitor i was taking causing the hives. On my own a week ago, I stopped the lipitor and the lipitor only. For the first time in 5 yrs i have no more hives. Drs said it was caused by taking Lipitor. He had history of a fatty liver also. The evening before he passed away, my husband was visiting him and when he was leaving and walking down the hallway he heard my pap coughing. My husband went back into the room and gave him a tissue. When he stopped coughing he asked my husband to throw it away. My husband was alarmed when he seen the tissue filled with what looked to be coffee grounds. I have been resisting the diagnosis for quite a few years but have been experiencing severe pain for the past couple of weeks and just want any pain killers that can give me relief. So, been having this not very severe, but certainly noticeable and annoying sticking pain in what feels like my left testical since yesterday morning.
