374225 tn?1269899262 There are two types of generic Fentanyl and at least one of you claims that one is superior to the other. Which one is the better of the two? My doctor is probably going to let me try the patches over the methadone and I just want to be sure. It amazes me how much knowledge we all have accumulated and outside of these boards so much of it is wasted. I'm so glad this place exists and I found it.

519736 tn?1253986826 My husband was prescribed generic lipitor about a year ago. Prior to this he was advised to use Slo Niacin. When he began the lipitor, his dr. did not tell him to stop taking the Slo Niacin. He has been taking them together daily. Last week he experienced more frequent, loose bowels, but did not feel "sick"..This went away and he started to have muscle pain in the chest and upper back and his legs..that began 3 days ago. The muscle pain is preventing him from getting any sleep.
Avatar f tn Thank you for your input. I should say the clinic did give me the simvastatin first but then switched to Lipitor. They themselved said it was better. I've heard of Lipitor going generic in a few years - maybe that influenced their decision to switch patients now. I just can't understand how they can override the cardiologist without any chance of appeal. I will speak to him again and see if he thinks he should intervene.
Avatar f tn what is the difference between triam/hctz 37.5-25 sandoz and triam/hctz 37.5-25 lan. my boyfriend has been taking triam/hctz 37.5-25 sandoz and did fine when they refilled his script the pills are different and are called triam/hctz 37.
Avatar n tn The mail order service sent me a generic that is maufactured by Sandoz(I went from a yellow pill to a purple one). After taking the new generic for approximately two weeks I began to feel my previous symptoms of anxiety and depression come back, almost as if the medication was a placebo. I have been taking the new pill for 3 months now and it seems ineffective. Is there any reason why this would be and has anyone else had similar problems?
2121656 tn?1395674749 Dr. Schiano, Hi there! I'm thankful for this site to get a insight into understanding medical diagnoses. Before I get started, I would like to thank you for all you do and taking the time in reviewing my post. Well, I'll start with telling you a little about my health. I've type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, high trig. (hereditary on mother's side). I was just diagnosed with Hashimoto Thyroiditis. Due to the diabetes and high cholesterol I was taking metformin 500 mg.
Avatar n tn I have been taking Lipitor (20mg) and my wife has been taking Simvastatin. Prior to being put on medication, my cholesterol had been running about 205 for a long time and my wife's had been around 160. What is the difference betwen the two? My medication is considerably higher than mine? Can you explain why? My blood sugar was running abot 137 so my Doctor also put me on Actoplus as well. My Lipitor is about $100 and my wife's Simvastatin is about $6 (same quantity of tables-30).
1481230 tn?1287973781 This is what the pharmacist at Walmart told me when I went to go get my script filled for a higher dose. I have tried Mylan and Sandoz. and I liked Sandoz a lot better. Now I am using Watson...which is weird....I can at least visually see the medicine now but it leaves marks on my skin and my pain hasn't been controlled lately even with the increase. They also seem to come off or the edges stop sticking faster, yet they stick better overall.
Avatar n tn This med is generic for Lipitor, as you probably already know. I've researched and there is nothing about anger problems. The best thing to do is ask your Dr or pharmacist if this could be a possible interaction. When did you start the Zoloft? I'm asking because anger and personality chances could be a side effect of this med.
Avatar n tn So you can have a different reaction to each generic. I have had some generic drugs that had no effect on my what so ever when another worked fine. My best advice would be that you ask if your pharmacy order the drug made my Mylan (yes it is available) and if they won't/can't then go to another one who offers it or will order it for you. There is no reason you should suffer side effects. I am sorry to hear you have gone through all of this.
Avatar f tn My pharmacacy switched my "Toprol XL 50 mg" to a Generic one called "Metoprolol Succinate ER 50 mg" (manufactured by Sandoz) in December 2007. I have been on some form of Beta Blockers for years and I thought nothing of it. Within a week I was at my eye doctor because my left eye went from 20/20 to 20/60 and was so blurry that I felt like I had suntan lotion or something in it. Since then I have been to so many doctors because things just kept getting worse.
Avatar n tn My understanding is that the statins with the greatest LDL reducing effect are Crestor, Lipitor, Zocor, and Pravachol, in that order. I don’t mention Leschol and Mevacor since they appear to be rarely used since recently due to the aforementioned being more powerful. Do we have any available solid data on the effects of the various individual statins other than LDL reduction? For example, do we know which ones raise HDL the most? What about effects on particle size or Lp(a), etc.
Avatar f tn I just discovered this after 3 months of total misery, 7 different doctors, multiple tests, 1 hospitalization, 16 pound weight loss, almost lost my job, etc., etc., etc.. I want to know if this will have permanent effects on my body and heart and will I ever be the same again. I still don't feel 100% and have been back on the brand TOPROL XL for 9 days now.

I've now been taken off the medicine's now due to high liver enzymes. I was diagnosed with a fatty liver in 2008.
Avatar m tn Generic Lipitor Recall http://www.webmd.com/cholesterol-management/news/20121126/generic-lipitor-recall?
Avatar m tn You can exchange the prescription at the pharmacy for the Brand Name, I did that when they tried to switch me from Lipitor with some generic made in India, which I refuse to take because of quality control issues.
Avatar m tn The generic drug for Lipitor has been recalled if you are on this medication contact your pharmacist. Recalled for possible glass particles in the pills.
482517 tn?1208551378 Yep, Lipitor, Toprol, (actually the generic of Toprol, but I don't know how to spell it) and Zetia. I take an otc niacin supplement. When I started taking all this stuff, I did really bruise easily and bleed a bunch from nicks and such. Never had a nosebleed problem. But, all this lasted only a short time, probably less than a year. Don't have nearly as much trouble with it recently. I'm kind of assuming that it's something that the body gets used to over time.
Avatar n tn I had no problems at all with that med. Then when the generic for Lipitor came out, she put me on that. I guess to save me money. I was having constant daily headaches. Neurologist treated it as Migraines. MRI was normal. Still having some migraines weekly now. But my neurologist says I'm fine and that I am clear to return to work. I told him what all else I was feeling in my head and he just blew it off.
