In my experience the Adco-Simvistatim is not a good Statin - not as strong as the original: Lipitor. I also have familial-high-cholestorol and have been on Lipitor since my early 20's and for the past 6 years I was on 20-40-60mg Nexium.
The 6 months that I was on Simvistatim, my Trigs went up and when I changed to Lipitor, my levels came down and is still under control.
Just check your levels again in about 3 months, but try to get Lipitor/Aspavor instead.
It is easy to find information regarding drug-drug interactions for omeprazole (Prilosec) and atorvastatin (Lipitor). The omeprazole appears to increase the bioavailability of the statin, increasing the risk of side effects. Does this mean that the interaction is like taking a higher dose of the statin, which would provide benefit for someone like me who only takes a low dose (10mg atorvastatin daily) and has no statin tolerance issues?
This med is generic for Lipitor, as you probably already know. I've researched and there is nothing about anger problems. The best thing to do is ask your Dr or pharmacist if this could be a possible interaction.
When did you start the Zoloft? I'm asking because anger and personality chances could be a side effect of this med.
The label on my bottle says to not take the tenofovir with ibuprofen. However, I previously asked my doctor if ibuprofen (among many other question I had) would be okay to take alongside it occasionally --- and he said it was no problem.
Hmmm. What to believe? The label or the doctor? o_O
Any personal experience with the interaction of these two medications?
Similarly, the Midol (cramps and body aches) contains ibuprofen and should not be taken with an additional dose of ibuprofen.

Do ensure that you maintain adequate fluid intake (about 2000 ml) while on these drugs and avoid alcohol as alcohol interacts adversely with Septra.

I am suffering from depression and anxiety. I recently saw my psychiatrist, and he prescribed Effexor (37.5mg a week until I get to 150mg) to treat these conditions. I have been smoking marijuana regularly (daily) for about 5 years now, and it helps me with my lower back pain that I get from an injury that left me with 4 herniated discs, on top of helping with my depression. Obviously it is not helping enough with the depression to be enough, which is why I went to see my psychiatrist.
In most cases, the clinical consequence of the pharmacokinetic interaction has not been evaluated. However, for midazolam and triazolam, as well as for buspirone, impairment of CNS function was observed, and for the calcium channel blocker felodipine greater blood pressure lowering has been observed. In contrast to the increased levels of the other medications, the grapefruit juice interaction observed with theophylline and itraconazole was reduced plasma concentrations.
I have been taking Lipitor for the last 10 years and lately I have developed muscle pains. I was told the pain might be because of the Lipitor. I stopped taking them for a couple of months, the pain was much less however my cloestrol level was back to 290.

There is much controversy about cholesterol, but it is muted because of pharmaceutical financial interests in statins. Half of those who die of strokes or heart attacks have no history of high cholesterol. DeBakey discounted cholesterol. My own doctor pays no attention to it. What is the true role of cholesterol and how should one proceed? I don't know, but I won't take Lipitor.
The Lipitor package insert recommends that a test of your liver function should be done prior to and at 12 weeks following both the start of therapy with Lipitor and any increase of dose, and periodically (for example, every six months) thereafter. If there are any changes in your liver function, drinking alcohol may make it worse.
People taking lipitor are recommended to avoid alcohol in their diet because it raises the triglyceride levels, another lipid which is a risk factor for heart disease. Going to soft drinks would be far more beneficial for your body obviously but if this is impossible I would switch your lipitor to the mornings. Lipitor, unlike some statin drugs, can be taken any time of the day.
I do have spinal stenosis and have been doing many back and leg exercises which, together w/ Ibuprofen and an occasional muscle relaxant, have helped. I am on my feet many hours a day and I also play tennis, and my health
is very good, otherwise. Why would I have this pain (two nights now) and only in a horizontal position?
I take no prescription drugs except Lipitor (10 mg every other day for years).
If hypothyrodism can cause high cholesterol is it not better to take thyorid hormone replacement than Lipitor?
when I have drug interaction questions I go to druginteractions.com and enter the drugs that I am taking and it lets me know if they have any interactions or precautions. I also take fiorocet which has tylenol in it but I do not know off hand about the barbituate and how that would react with the ibuprofen at that dosage so check it out if you haven't already or for future reference.
Yes, I understand there is an interaction between victrelis and grapefruit and I learned it on this board too. Then I looked for the confirmatin on that and found it in Victrelis' labeling.
I don't believe either Victrelis or Incevik have been used to treat HIV. They were just approved in May, 2011, for the treatment of Hepatitis C. They are in a class of new drugs that target the specific virus and there are HIV drugs that do the same - but not the same drugs.
I know that Lipotor can artiificially lower TSH and cause a false positive for hyperthyroidism.
Studies have demonstrated that at certain dosages, ibuprofen can stress the liver and elevate liver enzymes in people with Hepatitis C. Ibuprofen must be used with extreme caution in the later stages of liver disease and for those on interferon therapy.
