My question is does this sound like a cold sore or just a really really bad section of chapped lip? Also, I had made out with my girlfriend the other night under the impression that it was just a chapped lip and then she proceeded to give me oral sex for just a little bit. Even if this was a cold sore, does that mean I just gave myself genital herpes???? Please advise as this is a bit of a stressful situation for me. Thanks.
It first appeared 6 days ago when all of a sudden I felt like a burning sensation and my lip felt swollen. Since then I have been putting cold sore medicine, thinking it could possibly be one starting out. I have never had one before, but my sister-in law and friend said they start out in a tingling or burning or itching sensation. So, upset, but worried, I continued the ointment. Six days later, it looks exactly the same maybe a little dry but the same.
The symptoms that you are describing are that of a cold sore. Do not kiss while you have this, because it is very contagious when the virus is active.
You can get over the counter medications for cold sores. But unfortunately there is no cure.
It is the Herpes Zoster virus that causes it, and once we have had it, it lies dormant in our body. Chicken Pox and Shingles is another form of the same virus.
Two days ago I spent the entire day snowboarding in cold, windy conditions. The following day my lower lip felt swollen and tingly/itchy. There are no visible signs of a cold sore yet, though I am concerned it could be developing. Is it possible that I caught Herpes from that woman? Is there something else that this could be? Never had a cold sore. my lower lip is just swollen and feel very chappy and sticky. I am also getting extreme dry mouth and noticed little red dots/pimple looking things on my tongue. however, it doesn't hurt itch or tingle.
Not sure what this might be. just hope its something curable. I have a couple questions:
1. if this was herpes wouldn't it hurt or itch?

my question is if i was alreadly infected with the hsv1, is it possilble to get genital hsv1? and is my cold sore a cold sore? since it has not changed in 6 days, no blister just swollen. and the doctor said i have to wait 4 weeks to see and blister, would the antiviral pills extend the 4 weeks? currently i have to symptons in my genital area.
hello doctor. i kissed my girlfriend last week multiple times when she had a cold sore. now i have felt bad for 3 days, lots of sweating, raw throat, one canker sore, swollen lymph glands.
so i am assuming i have contracted the HSV-1 virus. do i need to do anything, such as see a doctor? will i definitely have an outbreak on my lip? when? is there a chance this is just the flu even though i kissed her when she had one?

Hi all. Been tested HSV-1 and 2 negative 2 months back. Last Saturday, I made out with a girl. Fast forward 5 days, I was experiencing burning lips and fordyce spots started appearing. My doctor suspected that it's from lip licking because I was being rather paranoid. However, I woke up today to find the peak of my upper lip slightly swollen. Here are two photos of a close-up. Can someone tell me if this is a developing cold sore or maybe some sort of allergy?

Hello! I know it's gross but over the past 24hrs I've developed a really nasty cold sore on my bottom lip.. I haven't had one for about 7 years but use to get them so bad in primary school my Mum had to pull me out of class for 3wks once. On top of that when I woke this morning I figured out the glands in my neck are swollen and I've got a terrible headache.. Im 17weeks pregnant. Has anyone else experienced this?
It soon showed up on the outside of it, opposite where it was on the inside part. Originally we thought it was just a cold sore, so I put some medicine for that on it and slept on it over night hoping it wouldn't get worse. Now it looks like what is in the picture. Any idea what it could be?

How do you distinguish a cold sore from a blister/pimple/cyst/derma logical problem ?
I had something on my lip which started as a raised lip then a single blister which ulcerated and disappeared completely to like a hole in my lip in 24-48 hours.
There was no hard scab/yellow scab nor was anything bright red.

So a couple weeks ago I had a cold sore and then it healed. A few days later on the other side of my mouth I felt a bump and it hurt when I touched it. I thought it was a pimple and tried to pop it but nothing came out. The bump just got really sore and swollen. I squeezed it really really hard because I was so frustrated that it might be a cold sore even though I had literally just had one go away.

Okay. Yeah its me again. I have hsv 1 genitally. Never had a cold sore and only one outbreak genitally, which was primary outbreak. Three days ago I developed a red pimple on my lip. My lips are dry so I had tingling from an area I pulled skin off of. But now this pimple in the lower lip towards the corner. I am wondering if it could be a cold sore. It's a dark pink color hard to touch and hurts. Been there three days and never blisters still hard and sore.
I have heard from diff people who have cold sores that their cold sores are in the form of a blister and it didn't hurt at all! I guess it's just all about your immune system people have diff reactions. Altho it's rare that cold sores don't hurt or feel weird. if I were you I would just assume that that's what your cold sores look like and make sure not to kiss or perform oral on anyone when you have those symptoms, just to be on the safe side!
Is there anyway i could send you a picture & you could tell me more. It also like swollen & dented in the middle of it.
