t recall having cold sore before, so I suspect this might be some kissing episodes that happened shortly before in Christmas last year. I googled pictures of herpes outbreak and it seems like it is a mild outbreak, which looks really the same, except the bumps didn't blister, or maybe I can't see it blister because they are generally smaller than typical blisters.

He only eats chicken flavored food but I had just given him a salmon flavored treat a day or so before the lip flare up. Anyway, I know that the vet will not want to give him another steroid shot so soon after the other one. Does this sort of thing usually go away on it's own? He seems fine and is eating and drinking. How long should I wait before taking him back to the vet? I don't want to waste the trip if there is nothing they can give him anyway.

I was never advised of the risks of this surgery (that I could have permanent nerve damage or that I would be left with a huge ball like scar in the center of my lip. My lip is still swollen causing my lip to be exposed to the air (it feels raw all the time). The scar is hardening and it hurts ( I can also feel a band that runs horizontel along the incision line. my hands are so dry/chapped whatever you want to call it that they are super cracked and bleed. Water burns to the touch! And my upper lip is chapped to. Looks like I got botox injections lol.
