Common Questions and Answers about Lip injections texas

Avatar m tn The latest doctor that has been seeing Betty is actually the head of the University of Texas Dermatology department. This doctor has no possible explanation other than Betty is possibly subconsciously scratching herself. This is not a possibility. This doctor has prescribed an anti-depressant under the guise of treating itching which isn’t even a major complaint or symptom. These cuts usually will appear as a red slit then will scab over within a day and disappear within a day or two.
Avatar n tn I have tried local pain injections (nerve block), 1 round of epidural steriod injection, and physical therapy for the past year going twice every single week. I stopped PT at the end of May but a flight home to Texas triggered everything all over again! I now have numbness/tingling in my upper left arm & on the inside of my left arm. For this past year I have only been able to work at the most 5 hours each day. I am soooo done with this and frustrated!
Avatar n tn I asked him what if this stuff doesn't work, what then? He said I should take injections of an antibiotic, 3 of them to the tune of 20 bucks a pop.....that surely doesn't bother me if it takes care of the problem. My question is: Why would injections be better than pills?
Avatar n tn at Lipodissolve in Chesterfield Valley (MO) is the best. Sara also gets the injections - she said that she has had everyone there give her the injections - and she didn't notice any difference. I sure did. My 3rd treatment with someone different was so painful and the swelling was really bad. I also think she injected into one of the past lumps that had not dissolved totally.
Avatar n tn ) Seemed better but in the morning my nose swelled wide and went numb followed by upper lip then lower lip then chin and then throat; b.) ER room gave me an IV with Prednisone and another antihistamine followed by b.) an Epinephrine shot and 30 minutes later, 10 minutes of tremors followed by c.) red blotches/hives from the top of my head to my waist/groin area. Day 3: a.
Avatar f tn I'd like to know what side effects you're referring to. Also, regarding the cortisone injections, I wanted to mention that it's extremely important that people consult the latest research regarding Dercum's Disease before they inject cortisone or use any other steroid hormones!
1737348 tn?1312916526 Part of my problem is my family's refusal to accept my diagnosis--my mother dragged me out to lunch, then the grocery store, then Costco, and finally at Costco, I was so focused on biting my lip and not screaming in pain--knowing that the aspirin in the baset was going to be GROSSLY insufficent, or I;d have opened the stupid bottle and swallowed 2-3 (3 is like 2 extra strength) dry. I hadnt any of my own meds with me since mine are liquid, and the bottles are harder to shove into your pocket.
Avatar m tn It is frustrating not knowing specifically what causes my reactions. So far I have only had lip and face swelling that are severely disfiguring- no throat or tounge swelling. After about 3 days the swelling subsides and my face looks normal. My allergist gave me something called Zyzal or Zyzol to take when I have another reaction. So glad to see this community for support.
Avatar n tn I'd also like to know if anyone is using subcutaneous injections with success rather than intramuscular. SC injections can be given with an insulin needle, it is less painful and the needles are cheaper so I'd rather do that than IM injections. Those little buggers kinda hurt. I'm on day two of the vlcd and I've lost about 4 pounds so far. It was getting bad, I was up to 334 before going down to the 500 calorie diet. I must have gained 10 pounds in the gorging phase!
251922 tn?1193786078 I will be on phase 1 for 44 days. I am going to start injections on Oct. 20. My granddaughters 2nd birthday party. So I will get to have cake and ice cream on my gorge days! I sure hated to wait so long to start injections(especially since I have all my stuff now) Have a good day to you all!
Avatar n tn I was seeing a doctor for weight loss and getting b12 injections. Along with the injections I was eating very much like a diabetic. Low fat, low carb and minimal sugars. While I was taking the B12 I was losing 15 - 25 lbs a month. I decided to continue eating the same and stop getting B12 injections and my weight loss slowed considerably and my energy levels decreased.
1074733 tn?1256235219 You might want to grab a cup...or the entire pot of coffee first! I am a 40 year-old married mother of 4. I live in Texas and homeschool two of my children. I've been married 20 years to my sweet husband. When I was young, I was very energetic and was always going places and doing things with my family like camping, fishing, ice skating, canoeing, hiking, etc... My hobbies are painting, scrapbooking, crafts, sewing, and reading.
530191 tn?1214166411 My first break out started my freshman year of college in 2000 and I've been suffering on and odd since then. I have been to doctors in Arkansas,Texas, and Oklahoma. Still have not found a cure nor a cause. Monday was the first time I've broken out in two years, so I guess they are back. I'm so tired of this and I wish there was a cure. Its good to know their is someone else out there like me. My feet hurt and my hands hurt from swelling.
Avatar m tn I had no pain from the surgery - but the screw holes drove me nuts for a few days- so have on hand some good antibiotic cream (or ointment - it is greasy though) to clear that up quickly. Lip balm is a must. Slip on shoes (you cannot bend over for a while). Put things he will need above waist high so he can reach them. The surgeon will have a preference of no saline allowed or allowed - and a humidifier may help breathing. No straws.
Avatar n tn For a while I was traveling to Tyler, Texas (from South Louisiana) to see a dentist there. He was the most sympathetic and helpful, but even he had not seen too many cases like mine. I have lived with irritation to my gums for about 8 years. It's not gum disease. But because of expenses and distance, I just go on with my life and try not to let it interfere. I do think I will eventually have to deal with it.
Avatar f tn This is much more invasive than the injections but the itch is so crazy I think that all of us are willing to do anything to get rid of it. It is a horrible itch! Also, since I've been in a few car accidents, my neck is straight (I've lost the natural curvature of the neck), and my trapezius muscle is tensed up. My shoulders are like bricks. The pain management doctor is going to give me some trigger point injections to relax the muscle.
Avatar n tn Now, he's concerned about the twitching. I've had twitching in my lip, or eye lid in the past, but don't recall the side of my head. He mentioned his concern of stroke symptoms after NE Patriots Tedy Bruschi suffered a mild stroke, as well as a friend of ours. My friend woke up with a numb feeling in her arm, and thought she had just slept wrong, but when the numbness didn't go away, she were to the ER and was diagnosed.
Avatar n tn It is very embarrassing when it drips off your face onto paper work, or working in kitchen at church and being soaking wet, I had to use my lips to blow sweat off my upper lip, I have gone nuts with it dripping into my eyes and burning, and pants that looked like i wet myself. I went thru menopaue at age 39, so this is not that. It just popped up out of nowhere?
Avatar f tn I am athletic (tho no known neck/back problems), and have also spent a lot of time outside and in the sun. I now live in Austin, Texas, also a sunny climate (but more humid than Colorado), and the dreaded itch came back about a month ago. I can not bear the thought of living with this for the rest of my life. Also, no rash or any other visible sign of itch, aside from the scars I create by scratching until bleeding.
Avatar f tn however, multiple plaques are relatively common. Usually localized on the chin, cheeks, or neck, involvement of the upper lip is rare. The characteristic lesion is an inflammatory reddish nodule with pustules and draining sinuses on the surface. Hairs are loose or broken, and depilation is easy and painless. Pus-filled whitish masses involve the hair root and follicle. Over time, the surface of the indurated nodule is covered by exudate and crust.
1055869 tn?1294203119 My second IUI failed.... Starting all over again. Started with Fostimon injections on the 15 November. I have an appointment ont he 21st November. Anyone who is trying for the IUI this cycle ? Lots of baby dust and good luck to all.
Avatar n tn for me... THE WEIGHT GAIN. I had a 3 level spinal cord decompression and loads of steroid injections for the bone graft and the pain. That translates into 50 pounds I gained. I am so desperate to get this weight off, I'm just about willing to do anything. It is causing huge problems in my marriage. My hubby has pretty much said he isn't attracted to me any more. Anyone out there have any feed back on Topamax... or anything that'll help me shed the pounds?
551343 tn?1506834118 But I dont fit the MS criteria either. But we discussed possibly starting the MS injections because I am in the very high risk catagory now. I see him agin in Feb 10' to see where I'm at and to make a decision on the injections. Sorry so long....Take Care ....
604185 tn?1233964457 This is my 5th IUI and 2nd round on injections. 3 rounds of clomid failed and thinned out my lining.
