Having received a lot of injections of Demerol after surgeries, the bruising was common. The nurse would come in with a little tray full of hot water and a hand towel and had me dip it in the hot water, then wring most, but not all of the water out and press it on the injections sites. It did help bring the swelling and bruising down. Make the water as hot as you can stand it and it will work better and faster...

I'm injecting my stomach area and stopped using my thighs because I was bruising them and the injection site would be sore days later.

I just started my 17p (progesterone) injections on monday. My whole left butt cheek (injection site) is very tender. Anyone else take the shots? Has anyone had the same or similar reaction? Just curious if I should call the doc or not...

hi my 12 year old daughter woke up sunday morning with a ring of purple spots under her bottom lip and in between the lip and spots it is bruise like in colour.she has not banged her mouth at all and when she goes outside her bottom lip swells and turns blue.she has been seen by a pharmacist,nurse and doctor and all were completely baffled.anyone have any ideas?? she has no pain!

You never had an exposure.

Bruising with SubQ injections may be caused by too shallow an injection. I'm guessing you are using the autoinjector. Try changing the depth setting you are using (I'd suggest deeper.

Recently had rough Oral sex with my Parner and I woke up this morning and My vagina lip was swelled and it's turned purply/blue colour? Will this just be bruising?

I have to take this blood thinner throughout my pregnancy and I give myself injections just under my belly button. I've been experiencing welts at the injection site. I don't know if I am doing something wrong. But these welts stick around for a few days. They aren't painful and don't bother me, I just think I am giving myself the shot incorrectly. I am 4 weeks pregnant, and it was highly suggested (based on the results of bloodwork drawn right before I became pregnant) to take daily Lovenox injections, as I am at risk for bloodclots. This has been the most miserable part of being pregnant, as I am a little wimpy about giving the injections... I am just wondering if anyone else is on or has been on this regimen and and have any luck making it a little less painful and any trick of the trades with avoiding the bruising... THANKS!

3 days ago I bit through my inner bottom lip - it didn't go all the way through but there is bruising on the outside of my lower lip. It was a big gash but i didn't go and get stitches straight away. 12hrs later I went to the clinic and they said they could not stitch the gash up because of tissue (not just a bump on the lip but actual tissue through the gap) protruding through the wound. They said the tissue would shrink within a few days and the lip would heal itself.

I experienced major bruising with my second injection. It started bruising about an hour afterwards, and by the next morning it was the size of an apple. Black and blue and angry looking bruise! I also inject into my abdomen. A nurse friend told me I might have hit a capillary, and my doctor saw it days later, and told me to keep an eye on it. It ultimately faded into just a big red mark. It never did hurt or anything, so I never felt in danger, but it was bizarre.

This is in a completely different location from my initial outbreak. Also, I found what looks to be a pimple on my lip, very tiny, but what the heck? I tested negative for HSV-1. Is this HSV-2 on my lip? I haven't had an outbreak since my initial exposure almost 4 months ago. Could this be irritation from kissing? Please tell me why these red spots could be appearing? Is it some sort of vaginal bruising or I am breaking out again? I am so nervous and scared.

Yesterday I went to my doctor and he gave me steriod injections on the small keloid on top my ear lobe and the big one under my ear lobe. My ear has swolen up and hasnt gone down any advice?

When I first used Copaxone it was a breeze, not issues whatsoever. This time the pain from the injections is extreme and I have fist size bruises all over my thighs and tummy! I hate it! The good news is I went to see the Optic Neurologist this week and she is wonderful. I've never met a Doctor who takes such care to make sure I understand everything that is happening to me. I am new to this T1 Diabetic thing so I have only been giving myself insulin injections for about 2 months now. I just noticed today, for the first time, that I have a bruise on my stomach...I'm assuming from where I gave myself my insulin shot. Is this bruising normal? Is anyone else doing Clexane injections? Or similar. The are daily injections into the top lair of fat on my stomach, the are meant to reduce my risk of blood clots.

FYI, I found out after many cycles of injections that the stomach is the best place to inject because it absorbs the drugs better - it hurts less too. Good luck f.

m really protective of my stomach - no one sees it, but *I* see it and I am very careful when I do my injections (I let my Humalog warm up to room temp before injecting). Every time I get a mark from a needle (i.e. when pulling out sometimes the needle tip *flicks* and gives me a little scratch or the red dots where I hit a capulary and got a little dot of blood as I pulled out) - I get very upset.

I have had ITP and it is in remission. I want to have the hair on my top lip removed by lazer. Will this present risk to my health and starting up the ITP again or the bleeding that goes along with ITP?

This rash is mainly on the bottom of my lower lip. There are no bumps but it feels rough and is extremely painful. This also may be completely unrelated but in the past week I’ve also been experiencing bruising extremely when I shouldn’t be (no falls or accidents?I will post a picture of my lips And my arm where most of the bruising is. He just had to get a shot last week b/c he had sores all over his belly from biting and scratching. Now he has a fat bottom lip. He had the same thing in February, got a shot and it went away. I read that fish based foods can cause allergies. He only eats chicken flavored food but I had just given him a salmon flavored treat a day or so before the lip flare up. Anyway, I know that the vet will not want to give him another steroid shot so soon after the other one.

The allergy shot therapy leaves me with large bruises at the injection site. I'm not elderly since I read the older you are the more you bruise. Does anyone have a remedy to prevent or at least reduce this bruising? The immunotherapy is helping me. I'm just really embarrased of all the bruises.
