Avatar n tn Nonetheless, I am very interested in considering the botox injections. What is the history and effectiveness, side effects of injections for this condition? Thank you, I want relief from these tics. They are exhausting.
Avatar f tn I have the same thing that has happened after having botox and Profhilo. This is 5 injections in each side of the face. I have terrible pain all on the right side. In my eye, cheek, temple, jaw, ear and teeth. All like TN symptoms ... did you get any answers?

4437866 tn?1388119624 And my upper lip is chapped to. Looks like I got botox injections lol. Been using Lanolin for the past 2 night with very little difference. Any thing you ladies suggest? I've tried bag balm. And A&D and carmex. Medicated blistex. Lanolin was my last try with anything.
768044 tn?1294223436 Have you found that the botox reduced the number of migraines you had per month? Would you personally recommend botox injections as a treatment option to a fellow migraine sufferer?
Avatar f tn I am a 61 yr old female who recently developed deep lip and mouth lines over the last couple of years. I am a non smoker but I do facial exercises which may cause me to purse my lips more. Is there anything I can do to soften these lines or make them disappear. I am not consistant with my moisturizers so need to keep at that better than I have been. Any suggestions?
Avatar m tn I have lower lip weakness to my bottom lip due to mandibular nerve injury. I have a mild permanent crooked smile. I am trying to find the best procedure to help correct this cosmetic issue. The only thing I can find is treatment using botox or another more permanent procedure myectomy. My question is if you treat with botox how does the doctor know how much botox you will need? Second if you go with the more permanent procedure myectomy how does the doctor know how much muscle to take out?
Avatar m tn Treatment usually consists of topical capsaicin and botox injections(it may provide relief for some time). My sincere advice would be to get the diagnosis confirmed from a dermatologist first. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn Hi my forum friends. :-) Has anyone had Botox injections for their spasticity? My new MS neuro wants to do injections in my back because I have severe tightness & pain/spasticity in my muscles. Two of my ribs are being pulled out and their rubbing on my shoulder blade. Thank you, Hope all are doing well...
Avatar f tn I had a left temporal lobectomy for refractory epilepsy and a brain tumor, and have had chronic pain from the craniotomy for the past three and a half years. Has anyone tried botox injections to address such pain? I have read mixed reviews...some people got headaches from the injections, one person had a seizure, and others were helped.
Avatar f tn I haven't been given Botox injections because I'm not a good candidate. I did however discuss Botox and other forms of injection therapy with several of my doctors. The source of my chronic pain remains a mystery, though it's not a result of surgery. I have a seizure disorder, but it's well controlled with standard meds and deemed unrelated to my chronic pain disorder by my docs. Emedicine on Medscape has a thorough intro to Botulinum toxin in pain management: emedicine.
Avatar f tn A few months after my Botox injections to the forehead, I noticed my hair falling out in clumps and is very thin at the frontal hairline? I heard this happens to a few people, but I never hear if their hair grew back? Anyone experience this and did your hair come back?
Avatar m tn In 2004 I got CFS from botox injections for a vocal condition I was suffering, Spasmodic Dysphonia, for which Botox is the standard treatment. I was told that it must be coincidence, because Botox didn't have that side effect. I KNEW it was from the Botox, because after my 2nd set of injections, on the 3+ hour drive home, I became VERY ill with flu-like body aches, and have never been the same since. Very frustrating.
Avatar f tn Husband has had major pain iissues in his back for his entire life due to childhood trauma. Has had epidurals, facet injections, Radio frequency Ablation, plus Stim electronic testing, and is on percocet. He has been to physical therapy many times over the years. He asked about botox injections into the muscle that causes the pain and was told that was a last resort. Then the doc prescribed muscle relaxers that he is already on. What makes botox the last resort?
Avatar f tn The surgical procedure to do the botox injections is relatively minor - much less than other bladder surgeries. The type of anesthesia used is up to your doctor . ... recovery from what I have read is just a few days. The thing about the botox treatment is it wears off and needs to be repeated - possibly as soon as six months. BUT that is a good thing too, because it is completely reverseable. This is not a permanent change to your body.
Avatar f tn I am scheduled to have the botox injections on Jan. 9 and I will report back on my results. Botox is a neuromuscular blocking agent, so theoretically, injecting it into trigger points will reduce pain for a 3 - 4 month period. We shall see about that. I have gone about three years without prescription pain medications (except Lidoderm patches) and I have no desire to go down that path unless all else fails.
1060317 tn?1254476427 Hey! I also get Botox injections around my jaw and neck every 3 months and that helps to slow down the movements. I get the injections from my neurologist. Most insurance covers the cost or most of the cost because it is medical and not cosmetic.
Avatar f tn I heard of such a thing and refused to get them for quite awhile. Then I heard about Dr. Wayne Cornblath who has many years of giving the Botox injections and has never had that happen to any of his patients. So if you get more desperate, you could try him and get a larger dose that may help you. In my case, my neck and shoulder areas are tight which exacerbates the migraines, although not the sole cause of them.
Avatar n tn My neurologist feels fine about the botox injections as she says botox stays within the muscle only and does not travel to distant sites or in the blood stream.....advice? Also, anyone out there who has had to manage pain through pregnancy? Thanks!
1068968 tn?1256169388 My Neuro Doc suggested we try botox injections for the head pain that has been my biggest and worst symptom.... Constant 24/7 pain in the back of my head. Anyway, I had the botox injections on Dec 17th. I was warned that it might work, it might not. It can start to work two weeks after the injections are done, but it might not start to work until you go back for the next session three months later... this is still pretty experimental for headaches.
