Lip injection surgery

Common Questions and Answers about Lip injection surgery

Avatar n tn I'm interested in having lip augmentation. My question is: Is there a suitable injection that can be done on my lips that is not permanent so that I can "test the waters" before having the augmentation? I have orthodontic surgery at age 30, wearing braces for 5 years. My teeth look great. But now I have no upper lip and what I do have looks like I've been a smoker. I have lots of lines. I've tried over the counter products with no success.
172023 tn?1334675884 The vet said that some dogs with a deep lip fold have to have surgery to smooth out the fold and prevent the moisture that fosters the infection, or they just have to constantly be on an antibiotic. Um...not anxious to do either one of those choices. Did some research online, and found that German Shepherds often seem to suffer from this lip fold pyoderma. A GSD forum talked about using a cream called Penaten cream. Several of the people had good results.
Avatar n tn After cataract surgery, I had PVD and accummulation of fluid at back of my eye. I kept losing vision rapidly. I also had Macular edema. Had floaters, flashes etc. with lot of pain at back of my eye. I visited Emergency OPD at hospital but no specific tests were done to my eye at early stage such as Floursene Angigraphy or OCT. I kept complaining to Doctors that my vision was diminishing quite rapidly. One and half month later I was completely blind. Dr sent me for MRI test of brain.
Avatar f tn With persistent lumps I am suspicious about it being some form of silicone injection. Surgery would be your only option to remove the lumps and attempt to readjust your lips.
Avatar f tn slept mostly after surgery (8am) but woke up later in the afternoon and noticed the left side of chin/lip from corner of mouth to center of chin/lip was numb. This was different than the other side that was no longer feeling the anesthesia. Day 2: No pain. The left side of chin and lip from the corner to the center of the jaw is STILL numb. My extraction sites are a bit sore but no real pain to speak of.
Avatar m tn I'm no longer in pain but now I have lumps and numbness in the right side of my lip and a lump at the injection site...can you tellme what the problem may almost feels as if I were stung on my lip by an insect. Avatar n tn My black eye resulted from the local anesthesia injection during my retinal surgery two months ago. The plastic surgeon's response to my question indicated that some pigment staining of the tissues had taken place. He suggested that I see a dermatologist for bleaching cream or possible laser treatment. So don't despair; set up a couple of dermatology consults!
Avatar n tn I had surgery for stomach cancer Feb 5, 2013 and it was determine that the cancer had gotten into my lip nodes. I completed chemo, chemo/radiation and more chemo. Now that my treatment is completed I still have pain on my upper left side and the doctors have not been able to determine the cause. I’ve had EGD, CT, small bowel series, and x-rays. I am taking 4-5 pain pills (Norco) daily. The pain varies from moderate to severe. Anyone have any other ideas or suggestions this is driving me crazy.
Avatar m tn The various treatment options for such scars are chemical peel, dermabrasion, laser or resurfacing of scars, soft-tissue augmentation, intralesional steroid injection (keloids) and excisional surgery in selected cases. Please discuss these treatment options with your dermatologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar f tn I am 32 years old and I just had a pituitary tumor removed 3 weeks ago. I have been trying to find out how people felt after the surgery. I of course have headaches, and dizziness. But it actually feels like my head is clearer...before my surgery I couldnt seem to form a thought, I was so weak. I still have weakness but not as bad. My eyes used to hurt, and very hard to focus. I didnt have the best experience after the surgery, they didnt even give me discharge instructions.
Avatar n tn i'm 15 and have hairy arms, hairy back, and i have little hairs on my cheeks, sideburns, and my upper lip and chin have hair. i was wondering if there is anything i can do before getting permanent laser surgery. like is there any pills or vitamins to get rid of facial hair or exces hair growth in women? please help. thanks alot.
Avatar f tn I was never advised of the risks of this surgery (that I could have permanent nerve damage or that I would be left with a huge ball like scar in the center of my lip. My lip is still swollen causing my lip to be exposed to the air (it feels raw all the time). The scar is hardening and it hurts ( I can also feel a band that runs horizontel along the incision line. I have seen an example of a mucocele surgery on the internet and it looks nothing like what this oral surgeon did to me.
Avatar f tn The doctor didn't know what he was doing and I ended up with a top lip that looks like a duck bill. Is there any way I can get this stuff out of my lip and return it to the way is was? If so, about how much would that cost and would it be worth it?
Avatar n tn i was skateboarding and fell on my face,i now have a scar between my upper lip it was too late to get stitches that day but now its shaped like a big pimple its really annoying to look at, what should i do,is there stitches to be done to open the inside or an injection to get out the inside? Avatar n tn I don't understand why my face hair not growing in front of my ears ( like side-burns) down my face toward the chin and neck so that I would have normal beard ? I'm healthy 45 years old man and I do have face hair on my upper lip ( moustache ) and under lower lip and the chin. There are no problems with other hair on my body.
Avatar f tn I just had my 4 impacted wisdom teeth pulled a week ago and ever since the surgery I have had numbness in my lower lip on the left side. Also, my front teeth on the bottom left feel like they are numb/loose. Is this common? I figured that a nerve was bruised but how long does it normally take on average for a nerve to heal? Will this be permanent? Thank you for any feedback or past experiences posted.
Avatar f tn I still have numbness in my lower left side of mouth. The teeth, gums, lip and chin. My dentist months later said she sees nothing wrong. Is this wrong??
542332 tn?1214595936 I have pain from the surgery however my TN pain seems to be gone now, (but I am still taking Dilantin too). The numbness from the surgery is in my left lower lip, tongue tip and pretty much all along my lower jaw line covering most of my lower cheek; I guess I will get use to it? I feel like an amputee. My jaw is VERY stiff, I also have to keep drops in my left eye so it does not get to dry. I will know just how successful it all was when I'm off the Dilantin in 2 weeks.

Avatar m tn Hi Doctor (s), I had my two upper wisdom teeth removed 9 days ago. I was given four shots of Novocain (two shots to each side. Two were in my upper rear palate and two felt like they were were straight back into my jaw). The left wisdom tooth came out no problem. The right tooth took the surgeon longer and gave him trouble. Once I returned home and the Novocain wore off, my right upper eyelid has been twitching. It is visible to the naked eye when it is happening.
Avatar n tn This morning I received an injury to my face which forced my teeth through my bottom lip and knocked out one of my teeth which was reseated. They gave me morphine by injection at the ER and prescribed Vicodin and said I could take that as soon as I got home. The Vicodin worked at first and I fell asleep. When I awoke, I was in excruciating pain, worse than when the injury first happened. It was 2 hrs before I can have another Vidodin so I took 800mg of ibuprofen.
Avatar n tn I have had 2 cysts in my life, the first one was removed surgically, the second, by cortisone injection. If I ever get a third, the surgery will be my first choice. I went in for the surgery, laid down on a bed, doctor came in, froze me, cut me open and was done in minutes. 15 minutes max. The only thing I can suggest about this method is make sure your surgeon knows where to place scars.
485972 tn?1210062968 He took one look at me and he said I had a herniated disc and ordered the Mylogram . Within 6 weeks I had my first surgery .march 1997 Things seem to go well at first . I felt better than I had in years ! My pain was all but gone at this point . So I started doing all the things I love to do .
Avatar f tn I had metacril injections two weeks ago in Costa Rica to my lips and nasalabial folds. The metacril in the bottom lip has now turned into hard bumps, which I think was the result of going and having my teeth whitened afterwards and the Zoom laser hitting that area so long. Has anyone else had experience with metacril? Any recommended plastic surgeons in the Dallas area I can go to and follow up with this issue? Thanks!
660300 tn?1224793961 I am not confident as he did not make it clear before surgery that one of my tooth was close to a nerve and only mentioned I may get a tingling lip.
Avatar n tn Depending on the surgery, that is how big of an opening was made to remove the teeth, and during the actual injection/blocking of the nerve, it may be injured. The longer the numbness persists after the surgery, the less likely the sensation will return. Of course there are other causes of mandibular or mental neuropathy but the temporal relationship suggest it was related to the surgery. I hope this information helps. Good luck.
Avatar n tn I had have two biopsies and have a long list of meds, ointments and creams I've been given, including different corticosteroid ointments, Retin A, Protopic, Bactroban, a corticosteriod injection to the lower lip (where it's worse), a depressant (can remember its name but similar to Valium), etc. One last thing that was suggested to me and which I haven't tried is to have laser surgery to remove the top layer of the lip. It was hoped that the new cells would be back to normal.
Avatar f tn My endo also checked my parathyroids to make sure all was well and he regularly checks my calcium. Isn't lip tingling a sign of calcium def.? I was doing some reading on the subject and I've also found that hairloss is sign of it as well. I've got bloodwork scheduled this week as it's my 2 year check with thyrogen and scans and plan on asking to be tested. But, I was just tested a few months ago and all was fine. Can it happen that quickly?
