Avatar n tn Posted By Madeleine on August 29, 1998 at 19:08:32: I went to the dentist for a routine filling in a lower left tooth. She began to numb the area and I felt what seemed like an electric shock to the tip of my tongue. She proceeded with the injection despite another "shock" and gave me a second injection as well. My whole left side of my face, including my ear, was numb for about 6 hours. My chin, lip and teeth on the left side are still numb 10 days later.

Avatar n tn I had a tooth (molar) extracted that took out the whole gum to the outside of my mouth. Then I had a root canal done and during the anesthetic injection in the lower area of my mouth, I heard a loud pop on the right side of my lower mouth. That has never happened to me before during an injection and since I have had slight numbness and alot of tingling from under my chin to not far from my ear. I've also had some shooting pain toward my lower ear.
Avatar f tn unable to open fully still but the numbness has not subsided at all. The right side of my bottom lip, down to my chin, right bottom teeth & gums, cheek, it's all still very numb. I'm positive this is nerve damage but I'm very concerned that this is permanent. Any suggestions or insight?
Avatar n tn When anesthegia wore off I was left in chronic extreme pain that extends from the middle of my lip and jaw to my ear and up into my eye socket. The pain is extreme but centered on the lower row of teeth where the crown was put on. Yesterday the dentist checked everything, did a second xray, and found nothing. He stated the tooth is probably dying but admitted it had shown no signs of problem upon examination other than one corner had broken off, which was the reason for the crown.
660300 tn?1224793961 I had my Wisdom Teeth taken out 2 weeks ago...ever since then my right lip and chin have been completely numb...I went back to the Oral Surgeon who wants to wait a month to see what happens, I have a follow up appointment in November right before Thanksgiving. Is there anything I can do to help? Based on common experience, how long does nerve damage "usually" take to heal? I feel like I am in the dark...I cannot stand it...
Avatar n tn Questions- What are my projected treatment options? If time is an answer; what is an estimated time of recovery? What should I ask the physician, and is surgery inevitable? When do you believe I will be able to resume normal exercise? Thanks, and I'm extremely frustrated.
Avatar m tn I don't know where to begin with this. So, I'll start with the first back surgery. I'm currently 33 and have had a disectomy & fusion. The first was in March 2002 when I was 27 & done by an Orthapaedic Surgeon(big mistake). I first herniated my L4&L5 in Oct. 97 while doing "squats". Never do this exercise my back-pain brethren. I then herniated the L5 & S1 about a year later.
Avatar f tn I have have 2 different neurologists say 2 different things about why I have cp. One said I had a stroke as I was being born the other said I have "closed lip schizencephaly." It is deformity of the brain that happened in the first trimester of life. The brain doesn't fully form like it should. He show me a picture of it in one of his books and it did look just like my MRI but then again the other doctor showed me the lesion on my brain where he thought I had had a stroke.
326176 tn?1239519289 I'm really sorry I could not put up a response much earlier just because of a herpes problem which left me with painful lesions in the right upper lip. Apart from the knowledge that I am recovering from a heart attack, my awareness about the course of treatment that is being followed and the various types of medications administered is limited. I am finding that your learning about cardiac ailments is of a high acumen.
Avatar n tn I have just begun the injections 2 weeks ago and am losing but since my last injection on my left side I have had pain in my back and down my left arm. I hope it is not from this but has anyone else had anything like this??

Avatar n tn The specialists still say its not due to the flu injection!!!!Myself personally am 100% sure it was the flu injection that triggered the chronic urticaria and we need to get together and prove it! I am going to see a natropath soon, spoke to a lady in a chemist whos son suffers from it,she says theres 2 immune systems, and when one is low the other can rise causing urticaria, she said cod liver oil helps balance them out along with vitamin d.
Avatar f tn My response to her latest post on mental withdrawal..... Here are the facts... She did NOT lose her job. She couldn't work because she was detoxing and too sick. She had the opportunity to talk to her step dad about going back to work but opted not to. To this day, she is still on the payroll and the company insurance. Her step dad did NOT tell everyone about her addiction.

215858 tn?1420175156 #1 - No, repeat NOOO student doctors or interns are to perform the procedure. Only a super experienced, super smooth operator should have his or her hands on that sampling needle (which looks a bit like a caulk gun, incidentally). It has this pistol grip thing and a big trigger that makes this big SNAP! sound. Oh it's a thing of beauty alright. So don't forget, if some baby faced doctor hovers over you biting his lower lip saying something like "does it go here?
Avatar n tn The good news is, although extremely painful, a pinched nerve can be treated with a full recovery. That is what I am waiting for. The way you can know for sure if you have nerve damage (neuropathy) or a pinched nerve (radiculopathy) is through an EMG. This is a nerve conduction test that shows exactly where your nerves are having problems and the severity of that problem. They use tiny needles and electrodes to stimulate your body in certain areas and measure your nerve reaction.
Avatar f tn ( I had an accident in the beginning of my recovery and I Took Toradol Not sure if that helps your situation But it did work not 100% but it helped. How long were you taking opiates for pain ? How Long were you addicted to them? I just know for me that I had built up such a tolerance to them that even if I had to take them they wouldnt work.
Avatar n tn Lastly, we are concerned about the sterility of the injection as you draw these products in to the syringe as well as the technique that is used in the injection process and the possibility of injection site problems (such as an abscess). Please take this information into consideration before continuing self injections for anyone looking into buying a self kit. Our main concern is your safety.
Avatar f tn I had 2 surgeries in 4 days. The first left my voice worse but after the 2nd my family noticed in the recovery room it was normal.
Avatar n tn I had a level 3 fusion botox injection`s, tp inection`s 144. The Dr. said i have occipital neuralgia on both side`s. The next step is to have a rhyzotomy, can you tell me what the succesful rate for this procedure is.
Avatar f tn Once the whole right side of my face swelled up and my lip practically turned outward like someone was peeling my face back. It was horrible. It happened also in a different place nearly every time. Doctors could not figure out what the heck was wrong. I was given and epi-pen and a couple of times, I had to use it. I never knew when it was going to hit or what would trigger it. I dealt with it for about two years. I was miserable. Slowly but surely it began to get better.
