Avatar n tn This morning I received an injury to my face which forced my teeth through my bottom lip and knocked out one of my teeth which was reseated. They gave me morphine by injection at the ER and prescribed Vicodin and said I could take that as soon as I got home. The Vicodin worked at first and I fell asleep. When I awoke, I was in excruciating pain, worse than when the injury first happened. It was 2 hrs before I can have another Vidodin so I took 800mg of ibuprofen.

Avatar m tn Hello, Since you had trauma to your lips at a young age and now the lip is appearing bigger , so it can be due to hypertrophic scar formation. The various treatment options for such scars are chemical peel, dermabrasion, laser or resurfacing of scars, soft-tissue augmentation, intralesional steroid injection (keloids) and excisional surgery in selected cases. Please discuss these treatment options with your dermatologist.
Avatar m tn some blood did come out, but now on this day it looks as though it could be a wart on my lip, it has the white area like a wart, there is a hole in the middle of it (an injection site), maybe it could be a bug bite ? ive been putting ACV and neosporin on it. not sure what to do. in the pics u cant really see the white circle but i assure its there (maybe in the last pic you can see it, be sure to scroll down). i am pressing my tongue against my lip to try to get it more exposed.
Avatar n tn I don't understand why my face hair not growing in front of my ears ( like side-burns) down my face toward the chin and neck so that I would have normal beard ? I'm healthy 45 years old man and I do have face hair on my upper lip ( moustache ) and under lower lip and the chin. There are no problems with other hair on my body.
542332 tn?1214595936 My surgeon has my switching from Gabapentin to Dilantin, by early this week I should be solely on 400 to 500 MG of dilantin per day however it is doubtful if the meds will fully control the pain so then my only real option is an injection which may cause permanent facial numbness. I would like to know if anyone else has had to deal with recurrent trigeminal neuralgia and if so what was your outcome?
Avatar n tn Intense itching on and around my nose, under my eyes and above my upper lip. Sometimes my lower lip will burn and tingle. Dr. said this could all be a sign of Oral Herpes...Cold sores. But this has been driving me crazy for months now, and I have never had a cold sore in my life. Now I'm not sure what to think. Does anyone have any thoughts on this???
1896537 tn?1381903609 I've got the nurse coming out tomorrow to take me through my first Rebif injection but this morning I've woken up with cold sores covering almost my entire lower lip....is it still ok to go ahead with starting rebif or should I put it off til I'm less run down? sorry if this is a silly question but I want to get off to a good start being as I have waited so long to start a dmd!
Avatar n tn your husband to get definitive answers on his specific set of conditions -- and treatment options. First, ask these questions of his doctor. If you're not satisfied with the completeness of the answers, then ask for a second opinion/ referral to someone with more experience. Second, I'm not sure if your husband's exposure was related to military service, but the Veterans Administration has extensive information and experiece with this very unfortunate result of AO use.
Avatar f tn Nothing helped except for 1 week when I had the first branch block injection. At night laying in bed my back aches like a tooth ache and sometimes my legs feel almost numb from the knees down and I have a strong urge to stretch my legs, I also suffer form leg cramps and Foot cramps on the top of my foot. I think it's all related to the fall. what do you think? and how can I find relief?
660300 tn?1224793961 I had my Wisdom Teeth taken out 2 weeks ago...ever since then my right lip and chin have been completely numb...I went back to the Oral Surgeon who wants to wait a month to see what happens, I have a follow up appointment in November right before Thanksgiving. Is there anything I can do to help? Based on common experience, how long does nerve damage "usually" take to heal? I feel like I am in the dark...I cannot stand it...
Avatar f tn 30 am and then a few hours later - maybe 10 am - I did my injection. If there were any precautions I didn't know about them. I only know that I spaced my meds and shots a few hours apart. I took CellCept with low dose Prograf by the way. But, I have taken almost every AR drug with the exception of Cyclopsorin at one time or another. I wish you the best of luck.
Avatar n tn Are you working on identifying what stimulates the allergic reaction? The ear problem sounds like it might be Yeast, does it smell bad? Some describe smell is like corn chips - not sure that is a bad smell. Our Westie usually gets his prednisone via a shot (injection) and the effect is immediate - not more itch. We use a dog ear wash to clean his ears (he has little hair in the ears so it is relatively easy to clean) and use a prescription drops.. this is ongoing.
Avatar n tn Questions- What are my projected treatment options? If time is an answer; what is an estimated time of recovery? What should I ask the physician, and is surgery inevitable? When do you believe I will be able to resume normal exercise? Thanks, and I'm extremely frustrated.
997898 tn?1303738464 i spoke with my local surgeons assistant today and i have an appt. to "review my options" on the 23rd. ugh! another week of waiting! oh well....could be far worse. usually takes months to get an appt to see an ns, so guess that's the bright side! she said he is suggesting to remove the part of the plate that protrudes or just to remove the plate all together. hmmmm....i thought i needed the plate to protect my brain, since the skull was removed to make room!
Avatar f tn Hi, I have a situation with my brother, He is 32, He is in hospital now but nobody knows exactly what is wrong with him! He told me that he had Herpes simplex on his upper lip and when he went to the doctor, he recommended some kind of corticosteroid ointment and when he didn't respond to them they prescribed Dexamethasone injection (8 of them in 4 days). After 3-4 days his throat begins to swells and it got bigger and bigger since and he started to experience fever and chill afterward.
279234 tn?1363108849 I'll discuss my options with the doctor...(if I have any)..When I saw the ultra-sound, my ovary did look pretty bad. I know what an ovary is suppose to look like and mine didn't look like that...so wish me luck.
Avatar m tn Oh, and if they did give me hydrocodone, it would be kept in a fire safe where only my mother in law has the key, what that means, is I WOULD NOT be able to get more than prescribed dose. She does not care about puppy dog eyes or poochy lip, she can't be bribed and she won't budge. What say you?
Avatar m tn My allergist got me into a Xolair injection study in May and within 2 hours of my first injection the hives disappeared. I had my 3rd injection today and continue to be hive/swelling free. I feel like I've been given a new lease on life. The study is a double-blind study with a random placebo, but based on my results, I feel certain I'm getting the good stuff and it works. Now the challenge will be to get my insurance company to pay for the drug after the study ends.

Avatar f tn There is so muc info one could get and learn that could provide so much help in making well thought out decisions as to what tx's they could look for and what all their options could possibly be. I think this type of forum would be so helpful to so many people. I also think it would be a great asset to the medhep site. Hint, hint :) it's a great idea curious.
Avatar m tn I did have gallbladder surgery recently, but did not show any stones. My HIDA scan showed 8% injection fraction. My Rheumatologist believes the inflammation shown on the EGD is significant, and her belief is that it is due to Crohn's disease. The Gastroententeroligst, however, is not ready to confirm this inflammation as Crohn's disease just yet. Are there any other tests that I haven't had that might help either confirm Crohn's or find the causative digestive problems?
Avatar n tn Don't let your age be the factor on not getting specific answers nor let your age be the only factor in you and your doctor deciding your treatment options either. Like it or not. Your injured and you can get better or you may only get limitly better. The only chance you have to get significantly better is to have a good doctor and for you to know, understand and actively pursue what is going on with you and never cease getting your true diagnosis.
Avatar n tn In May of 1996 I had upper and lower eye lid surgery, lip enhancement and a full facelift. This procedure was done at two separate times, eyes and lips on May 16th and facelift on May 19th. Everything was fine until one week after the facelift when I started feeling a tickling in my right eye (like a hair was in my eye). Eight days later, my left eye felt very dry and by the end of the day my right eye kicked in with this dry feeling.
413836 tn?1206468712 My doctor suggested I look on the National MS Society web site for info about the med options (which I already had done anyway). Any site is good that is not trying to 'sell' but merely informing you. Take your time, and try to see which one matches best what you think you can tolerate. Copaxone is different from the others, but it too has side effects. The drug companies are very helpful and will send a nurse to you to help you learn to inject.
1322157 tn?1279660281 I'm just not getting any relief at all from the meds that I'm on, what would you options do I have for increasing my meds since my pain is thru the roof?" You also might try saying, "my meds just aren't working, I'm having to take pills all day long and nothing, do they make something for pain that lasts longer than these do? And is there something that you would suggest to go with (whatever he suggests) for the pain that will come in between?
215858 tn?1420175156 #1 - No, repeat NOOO student doctors or interns are to perform the procedure. Only a super experienced, super smooth operator should have his or her hands on that sampling needle (which looks a bit like a caulk gun, incidentally). It has this pistol grip thing and a big trigger that makes this big SNAP! sound. Oh it's a thing of beauty alright. So don't forget, if some baby faced doctor hovers over you biting his lower lip saying something like "does it go here?
Avatar f tn 5 days ago while in the shower while washing up down there i noticed a bump on my left l lip. thinking it was an ingrown hair or a pimple I tried to squeeze it but nothing came out except some clear ooze. It was quite sore when I squeezed it, like a pimple being squeezed. anyway, i left it. the next day i noticed that the same area had swelled and created a scab there where I had squeezed.
Avatar n tn He went here and there to find the cure and every one told him that there is no cure except interferon and riba. He advised me that i should not take injection of interferon because they have many lifelong side effects etc. He gave me the address of the homeopathic doctor from which he got treatment. According to him, the homeopathic treatment was of six months and during this time perious his antibody level went higher and higher. and then he became UND.
